I have bought two guitars from Coda Music online in the last month. One ex display and one used. Both were mint & arrived within 48 hours of placing the order. The box was battered to hell on the second one but I suspect that was down to DHL Express. Would definitely buy from Coda Music in the future (if the wife will let me have any more guitars).

Bought a beginner ascoustic guitar for my little brother, the chap that dealt with us was lovely very knowledgeable gave us lots of good recommendations, just an all round lovely customer experience

Excellent service and guitar. Only minor observation is Coda used DHL for the delivery who don’t give a delivery timeslot so it’s a case of having to wait in all day, most other couriers nowadays offer a 1 hour timeslot which is very helpful.

I've written another review on a previous Coda order immediately before this one, so I won't bore you with the same details. Everything was similarly perfect, and I really appreciate it.

I ordered a secondhand Lowden from them- I called in advance to reassure myself of the delivery and returns policy as it was a high value item. The sales person in the acoustic department was very helpful. The item received was in pretty much perfect condition (far better than I expected for a second hand guitar) and the packaging (a hard case + packed cardboard exterior) protected the guitar in transit. Very happy and would definitely use Coda in future.

Top class instrument with super fast delivery. Deposit paid via website 26/11. Balance paid 28/11 Friday morning for delivery Monday 1/11 - This actually turned up from DHL Saturday 29/11 - So far so good. Let it acclimatise for a good few hours before de-boxing, which, is a rule of thumb for me.

So it's 5/5 for packing and (free) delivery.

On opening the case, I was presented with a fine looking guitar, a Fender Suona Thinline Stratocaster Limited edition, made in Corona in 2023. Ash semi hollow body, Spruce top with F hole, Subtle flame maple roasted neck. Ebony fretboard, and finished in "Violin" Burst. For a second hand item this has not a mark on it and being only 2 years old I don't think it was played very much.

Second hand used condition 5/5

The only real downside for me is the bridge pickup, which, to my ear seems a little harsh in the top end. They are Fender custom 69's (neck and bridge)and a specially voiced bridge s/c which I'm finding is the really harsh & over trebly pickup.

Overall the sound is warm and quite rounded for a strat, it's not thicker sounding or boomy in the lower frequency register, in fact, acoustically you can hear the warm hollow bodyness when strummed without an amp.

Sound 4/5 (bridge pickup loses a point here)

The bridge is a standard 6 screw bridge, with the screw in tremolo arm, again the big issue is with how the arm fits into the, Using a stock trem arm with the right thread the loose fit is annoying but slipping a tension spring in the arm hole will/should solve that.

Bridge 4/5

A few adjustments to bridge and the saddles were necessary as was a 1/4 turn on the truss rod to make this guitar play the way I feel comfortable with. but that's a norm for me when buying guitars, I like to set them up myself.

Overall the service from the guys at Coda was great, they answered all my questions via email very quickly and efficiently. The website I like very much because online you can pay a deposit, pay the balance within six weeks, which is handy to have. Its pretty easy to navigate through it too, when paying this way.

The guitar itself is great and the shortfalls in the pickup and bridge are only minor and are easily overcome.
