Went into the Bolton branch today. Terrible service. The two staff were chatting to each other. When I went to the counter to pay, the woman behind the counter didn't make eye contact or speak. Apart from to the other member of staff. It was only when the other member of staff came around the counter, I realised she was going to serve me. Again no eye contact or conversation. The only time she spoke to me and not the other staff member was when she told me the price (no please or thank you) and asked if I wanted to buy a pen for charity. Awful, rude service and very expensive cards

I had an issue with the next day delivery but I contacted customer service and they were so helpful and polite. The lady I dealt with was called Lauren and she is a credit to the customer service team! Very efficient with replies over email and so understanding. I have worked in retail a long time and all you hear is negative reviews, but customer service from people such as Lauren is worth it’s weight in gold, to hold onto customers and keep them returning again and again. Excellent service and beautiful cards. Highly recommend.

Terrible customer service. States 8pm when it closes at 7pm at Crown Point Denton after driving 30mins. And yet the stores are always empty. See why

Clinton Shops are brilliant ... their WEBSITE IS USELESS ... COMPLETELY - there is never anything I want on there and it always takes ages to navigate - I know there cannot be everything on there as in the Shops but even so it is appalling - their shops are the only way to go!!

December 2020 - I never received my order of Xmas cards. Clintons wouldn't reply to any of my emails so I had to go through the process of claiming a refund via PayPal.
March 2021- I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt (thinking maybe it was a one-off) and placed an order for some Mother's Day cards. I paid extra to have them delivered on Friday 5th March.
Of course I haven't received them.
Did they reply to my email? Nope. After several useless messages from DHL, it turns out they were sent with the wrong address. Great! Apparently I may have them this coming Monday, which is after Mother's Day (and I've already been out to buy new cards and post them).
I will never, ever use Clintons again!
Their shops are rubbish too. I will stick with Thortful, Moonpig, Funky Pigeon and Tesco.

They still appear to have an online shop, but seems not to be accepting orders. Spent some time selecting 11 cards, put in payment details and nothing happens. No customer service working at all, either email or phone. Have they gone out of business?

Good quality cards but more expensive , I have to say I was quite disappointed to see that so many of the cards were all made in China would be nice to see more national made products in the store , really hope this company to survive as they do have a very good quality and standard of product and I think the High Street need this kind of shop in the High Street. I’m more than willing to help support them but would like to see more national made products being sold

I had really bad experience last time after I shopped from Clinton’s at Wigan grand arcade shopping branch with my friend . My friend bought me as she want me to surprise and did not mentioned that she choose something for my kids present was for me and my kids but my kids did not like them and I want to exchange them with something else supervised did not helped and keep ask me to receipt. I explained her that it was gift from my friend and she only bought them couple of hours before so I can’t ask receipt from my friend it’s rude and also she is living far a way from us for this reason wigan branch supervisor did not change my items I was very disappointed and I will never recommend anybody shop from Clintons and I will never buy anything from them very bad service

i have been reading all reviews lot more bad than good my order over week late than the two days it should have been think i got the problem clintons are useing DHL for deliverys i have been gettings text for last three days saying item on way and every day item stilldont come it is only two christmas cards which now is to late to send anyway and no help from clintons like said in reviews they dont get back to you but boy they are quick to take your money could have gone out and got them quicker and cheaper or clintons could have posted them cheaper and quicker servive very bad all round i say

Appalling service. Put a £30 order in on 3rd December, paid for premium service and still have not received it. Customers Services don't respond to emails. No-one answers the phone. How dare their Managing Director complain about supermarkets selling cards in lockdown. I would suggest he needs to get his own house in order!!!

I placed an order online on 1st December. Received an email confirmation stating delivery would take up to 7 working days to arrive.
Still waiting for the delivery. I have sent an email chaser to customer service. No response.
Wouldn't recommend using their online ordering service.

We placed an order placed on 1st December 2020 we were overcharged on site, we were then advised delivery would be on 8th December, both by text and email.

Order failed to be delivered on that day, order finally arrived on 10th December.

No reply to my email to Clintons regarding the overcharge for the order or the delay, This was the first and last time I have used Clintons on-line.

Would not recommend

Bluewater is staffed by the rudest and most unprofessional lady I have ever met. Arrived at 10.20 to have two balloons (bought form the same store 3 days prior) inflated. Was told to come back in 40 minutes because they don’t have enough staff to inflate balloons until 11. Arrived back at 11.05 to be told to leave the balloons, go shopping elsewhere and come back in 30 minutes. Wouldn’t have minded they wait so much had the blonde lady in the store not been so rude.

Found the perfect card - very good selection

Always a good feeling to walk in here, and the selection is very very good. Great company.

No wonder they are always on the verge of insolvency, the customer service and contempt for the customer is simply not acceptible. First of all their cards are very expensive, why not use Card Factory for a much better deal. Their biggest rip off is charging for their bags. They always used paper bags until charging for plastic bags came in. Then they swapped to plastic bags and started charging. The Bromley staff are lazy and unhelpful. Avoid at all costs. One assumes they will go bust again soon.

I have recently tried to purchase some cards from Clintons on line and they have taken my money 3 times which comes to over £150 and they have not acknowledged or sent my order. I have contacted them and they tell me there is a fault with their website. If this is so they should take the site down and fix it now! I have just checked my Lloyds bank account and Clintons have blocked over £150 of my money which means I cannot spend it because it is pending. Clintons needs to rectify this now because I cannot touch my money and I do need to pay bills.

I went to Clinton’s on eagles meadows in Wrexham today When I walked in the shop there where two members of staff,one which looked like a supervisor or manager by the till I said hello and they looked straight through me and carried on chatting. I then proceeded to the till with a card where they both looked at me and didn’t say anything to me just the pricethen didn’t even say goodbye or anything if this is acceptable customer service by them won’t b going back. I Felt really uncomfortable in this shop.

I visited a store last night about 30 mins before closing. I selected my cards and a balloon. When I got to the till, the lady sighed and said do you want this filled now, to which I replied “yes please”. She gave a big sigh, tutted, looked at her watch and then said ‘did you know this a really big balloon and it would take a long time to fill’. I said I would swap it for a smaller one if it was going to be a problem, to which she sighed again. By now, I was beginning to get a bit fed up so I said ‘just leave the balloon if it’s going to cause an issue’ to which she replied that ‘ it’s not possible as she had already put the balloon through’. I hadn’t paid by this point but she said it wasn’t possible for her to void the item. So after lots of huffing, puffing and watch checking, she eventually inflated the balloon and then proceeded to tell me that normally it would take two people to inflate the balloon but the other lady was out the back cashing up for the day!! She then handed the balloon over as it was, saying it wouldn’t fit in a bag. I knew this wasn’t true as I had purchased larger balloons than this previously from them and they had always been placed in a bag. So with a sigh and lots of tutting again, she pressed the bell to ask the other lady about the bags, stating in front of me that there wasn’t a bag big enough for the balloon, to which the other lady said it would go in the bag easily, which of course it did.
I would normally let things like this go but the lady made me feel very uncomfortable, like an inconvenience and several times I said to just leave the balloon. I might also add that the store wasn’t busy and there was no one else waiting to be served in the whole time that I was there.
I’m sorry but I won’t be using this store again which probably isn’t an issue for the company but I really don’t want to feel like a nuisance or inconvenience to them ever again!!
