I really enjoyed my Italian taster course. Veronica was very helpful and encouraging.

I wish it were easier to keep track of what courses are offered. I realise that a printed bulletin each year is not going to happen again, but would it not be possble to put a bulletin with all the next term's courses in a bulletin online where you can turn the pages! It would be so much better to be able to check out the courses in an organised fashion to decide what I want to do. Thank you. Damaris Steele

Really enjoyed my sculpture course at CityLit with Annie who is an amazing tutor. Really supportive, gives great guidance and very knowledgeable on a wide range of materials. I learnt a lot and produced work I am proud of.

I have been really enjoying my Italian classes with Mariangela. I started as a complete beginner, and so I have been progressing this year- becoming more confident at speaking. The classes are well organised, sometimes quite fast, so you cover quite a bit of ground which I like. I would really recommend and I am hoping to continue next year!

The teacher has carefully broken down the steps to learning Latin and given exercises to practise and websites for further practice.
I was a bit baffled about accessing Microsoft Classroom as am an older learner and would welcome slightly clearer instructions particularly the reference to using Chrome. But eventually managed it! IT Help got back to me just as lesson started so I was relieved I’d managed to sort it out myself

City Lit offers a fantastic range of courses, over many subjects. In a great part of London, I have most recently enjoyed some short courses associated to bookbinding (which I study locally at evening class) - gold tooling and leather dyeing.

The tutors are excellent, with a broad range of experience and the literature to take home to support home application has been great. I have attended over many years, but am now limited by geography, as travelling from Devon, dodging train strikes, isn’t always easy. If you like arts and crafts and London is accessible to you, I highly recommend City Lit.

The lecturers are always excellent, learned, instructive and present professionally

Took an evening course in ink and wash techniques. The tutor bragged of taking the class for 20 years. He literally did not demonstrate ANY technique, just talked about it. Didn't offer any suggestions as to how to improve work in class. Not surprisingly there care no reviews available on the Citylit site

In my experience, CityLit are great at short, fun courses. I've found these to have high quality teaching, and be very good value too.

For the more academic courses, of which I have done one - Counselling - this was a very intense experience. Poor communication and poor treatment of students overall unfortunately. It is the first time I have an experience where I feel a department did NOT place the students best interests (nor similarly, a vibe of wanting students to excel/pass) as core. I hope to not experience that again.

The tutor for the course is really well prepared and knowledgeable. To date this is the best course I have done

Our engaging tutor John Wishmeyer on the film course helps his students explore and follow their interests but also enables us to appreciate new cinematic perspectives and experiences. The numbers of us re-enrolling speaks volumes. Highly recommended.

A great lecturer who make enormous efforts to give us recording snippets which perfectly illustrate all the relevant points

When I retired one ambition was to improve my piano playing skills. Picking up from where I left off aged 18 @ level 5 City Lit gently and professionally taught me properly how to get to grips with this instrument. I’m really happy that I’m now at a sound level 6 and continuing to learn and improve week by week. It’s hugely absorbing and fulfilling and I hope will keep me entertained for the rest of my life.

(Feb 24) Waste of time. Your short course will probably be cancelled a few days before it starts. I enrolled on 6 week Visual Arts Online Course which was cancelled 7 days before. Excuse given - due to lack of tutor but actually because only 4 people enrolled. Upon investigation (asking how many enrollments on other courses) most Visual Art courses (video, after effects etc) get cancelled a week before. (As most get very few enrollments)
04/25 - One year later I tried again and again another course (VG176) was cancelled one week before. Not good enough. 90% of the online courses I sign up for are cancelled.
