Support team is superb! Very professional and quick response.

I like their game panel.
They have an easy Steam Update button and Mod Manager to install mods in one click!

My friends and I can do a sub-user to the server so it will be managed properly in our community.

Had a great experience with their servers. I will be back to rent another server from them once I'll get back from japan.

Ordered a game server. No one answers via support chat on the website and no service was provided until I opened ticket. Refunds are not offered either, no option to get the money back. Do not recommend.

Paid for 3 months up front. Hired a dev to setup my rust server on their servers.

Within a week I could not change name to my server or even wipe the server.

Support was not helpful. When I could not wipe, they reinstalled my server and erased all my files - even my backups. Then, they changed my IP.

I spent so much time and dollars with advertising, setup, etc/

Their response was oh well, the tech support guy that didnt had not understood the ticket and we will do better next time.

Update 3/13/23 - Citadel is attempting to say I am not a client and contesting my review. I have all of the tickets in my inbox and their responses.

That was my initial order and I had problems right from the start.

January 2026 I am updating this. Even though I posted receipts for the service they are still trying to say my review is fake.

I ordered an Arma 3 server, none of the configuration files were working, had to manually write them again and they stopped working again after 24 hours.

Got ghosted by their support team and they even charged my card after I cancelled the subsciption.

Do not reccommend unless you hate money.

Migrated my server here and I was satisfied. Now I have 3 severs that are clustered which works great!

I was happy about the service that they have provided me as I have not used the server even though I am paying for it. They give me an option to convert my payment as a server credit since I am not using the server due to busy days.

Now I am not busy and I used the server credit that I have spent on my previous server for this current month.

Their initiative is so great, and I feel sorry for the people here saying bad reviews about their payment because there is a notification on the email to remove recurring charges from PayPal to avoid auto payments which are normal on PayPal to other services.

For those thinking of joining Citadel Servers -- don't. Rented a Subsistence Server from them that was not properly set up, wouldn't run in-game and gave errors despite saying it was running. Put in a ticket and waited with no reply when the server wouldn't work which was obviously a very urgent issue paying for something that doesn't even work on default setup. I had to delete all files they put on, download everything from the dev and setup myself to get it working halfway -- server still randomly stopped and started and kicked everyone from the game every 5-10 mins of play but we could log right back in as it was magically restarted and up. Finally after days of waiting for a reply and multiple ticket updates we get a one-line reply "random server stoppages should be fixed." No mention of all the crap I went through to set it up when they didn't do it in the first place. Also, you can forget a refund -- you get server "credit" -- why do I want credit on a service that is terrible to begin with? AVOID AT ALL COSTS - We will continue on our current payment until it runs out with them simply because we can't get a refund. I'll happily raise my review from 1 star if service gets better -- but I'm highly skeptical at this point. *Update: After about 3-4 days of it running decent it totally bombed again. Server totally crashes and gives errors, even when i go back to base install or my personal backup of the server -- it crashes. Waiting 2 days so far on a ticket to get it running again. Can I give this review no stars or negative stars?
*Update #2 - No response to any ticket to help with our server it's been almost 2 weeks -- they even closed one due to no response after a number of days when they didn't touch it -- the only notes on it are my updates and my issues? All we wanted was a server to play a game with a group of friends and it turned into three weeks of no server, issues and frustration with no responses from Citadel. Everyone stay away from this service, it's a clear scam.
Update #3 - A formal complaint was launched to PayPal to get a refund on this service. I can say that this was the quickest response I received from the company as they processed a refund, likely to get me out of their hair and I'm happy to be gone, in a matter of a day. My tickets were closed in the days following and I guess they have an automated process to solicit a review of how the ticket was handled. I assume this is just for show and won't be viewed by anyone seriously -- my response to Shea Sharrock who was handling my tickets was "I think the fact that I had to resort to a formal PayPal complaint against this company for the lack of support and lack of delivery of promised goods says it all. This was one of the single worst experiences I have had for trying to get a server/game/database loaded up and running from a third party company. I have moved to Nitrado and within 5 minutes I had bought, installed and was running my game on that server with no issues and it is still running!"
Update #4 - Formal complaint was launched and is now escalated to PayPal for resolution due to the lack of response from Citadel. They suspended my account quickly when this action was taken. This company has a history of doing this, please read all reviews and stay away.

Update #5 -- I thought I was done with this scamming server company after my PayPal resolution went through and I got my refund. A year later and they took another PAYMENT for a server I no longer have and an account I can no longer access on their site.

PLEASE IF YOU READ THIS STAY AWAY! WORST PROVIDER EVER.

Super user friendly game panel! I was able to configure and edit my configurarion files right from the start.

Bought game server at 70 slots, they couldn't configure it past 64 slots because of a limitation of command line switches in their control panel.
Offered pro-rata refund (even though server has never worked at 70 slots) and they insisted on store credit.
Having to recover money via PayPal rather than take a credit note for a company that I would recommend no one uses.
I would also suggest PayPal look into their contractual terms as they go against statutory law.

Their FiveM server is working fine as I have doubts in the beginning. They help me upload the mods that I want and edit some scripts that I am having a hard time with.

I also rented my second server which is Valheim, and it is easy to use their game panel.

i orderd their red dead online service on 8/27 here it is 9/1 and still not working. i followed their instructions to the T. i installed redm / rockstar launcher / rockstar games / cfxserver panel and won"t work, i probaly have put more time in it than they have and come to find out REDM put out a bulliten about that it was not letting the steam API work for new users till they figure out the problem with it. citadel techs should have been on top of that instead of me. well now they want to give me a credit refund of the one year in advance payment i made towards another rental server from them for a game i dont have. WELL PEOPLE I WILL WARN YOU AHEAD OF TIME RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM THEM BECAUSE YOU CAN"T TRUST THEM, THEY WILL TAKE YOU TO THE CLEANERS. by the way i do know how to set up a server because i have 2 others, it"s just that they don"t offer red dead2 online

My mates are happy about their hosting services.
We can go in and go out anytime with a nice auto backup and auto stop to my server.

The company did apologize for the issues and did offer compensation. I still have 1 server with them I will keep if support and quality remain.
As I said previously, they have been a good host in the part. The servers and equipment run well. There normally has been little to no downtime.
I can appreciate the fact sometimes things happen. Being upfront and resolving issues goes a long ways towards keeping customers and they have met that requirement for now.
If they continue to to rectify the support issues and server problems then I expect I will be able to increase my rating for them in another month. I pay for and expect quality.That quality has improved somewhat so it is fair to give them the benefit of the doubt for now on my part.
Hopefully this is an upward trend at this point.
