Absolutely useless customer service, the phone is never answered and live chat goes round in circles.
Not sure how to get my money back

Very disappointing experience with Charles Rowley. I ordered a set of stair rods which were never delivered, and after waiting for the order I eventually had to request a refund.

The refund has now been processed, but the whole experience was extremely frustrating. To make matters worse, the email address listed for the company did not work when I tried to contact them.

Based on my experience, I would avoid this company. If you do decide to order, I would strongly recommend paying by credit card so you have additional protection if the goods don’t arrive and you need to recover your money.

Unfortunately, I certainly won’t be ordering from Charles Rowley again.

Ordered some shelf brackets in May. The money was taken by Amaar Saleem and a confirmation of the order being placed was sent but then nothing has arrived. I have written twice and requested a refund for non-delivered goods but no re-fund sent. Same frustrating process as many others.

Complete scam.
Ordered and then nothing happened. No communication, no answer to calls, no contact available.

Awful company. Made my purchase and waited, and waited for delivery. Sent WhatsApp messages, no reply, sent a message through 'contact us' and eventually got a reply. Bank had to step in, awful company.

Yes, it is a scam, so I have had their bank account frozen and my bank did great work to get my money back.

SCAM company. DO NOT buy anything from this 'store'. 'Charles Rowley' is really Amaar Saleem. He will take your order and money but you will never receive your items and there will be no refund. Companies House state that he has not submitted returns since 2004 and are currently moving to strike him off. He is nothing but a common thief. I am reporting him to the police in Birmingham for his fraudulent activities, and have requested a charge back on my credit card.

Do not use this store. Do not be fooled by the ‘legit’-looking website. It’s a complete waste of time … a lot of time. Should be shut down by Trading Standards.

Do not be fooled by the upper class 'Charles Rowley' name and design on the website. Ordered items that never arrived after being given the run around for over 2 months. False promises, saying it had been posted when it hadnt (over and over again!!!).

This is not a company, this is one man operating out of his garage who has absolutely no concern for customers and will lie through his teeth to get your money.

I wish I had read the reviews.

Oh my god. Like so many people I do wish I had read the reviews on this business before I purchased from them. I feel emotionally bruised and battered from my experience with them.
Despite the website being unclear on the sizes available in stock, I was pressured to put the purchase through when I discussed my requirements over email and on the phone, with them assuring me they had the curtain brackets I wanted. Once they had my money it was just one string of lies after another.
First I was told they did not have the size I wanted after all and they would have to make it. Weeks go by, they told me they shipped only to ask me what size my requirement was again after I pestered them that they hadn't arrived. More and more chasing till finally I get a notification that they've been shipped. Except that the wrong size arrive. I ask for a refund. They tell a replacement would be on the way in two days. Nothing.
I'm short, they keep pushing you by a couple a days or a couple of weeks till you forget you even bought something, or give up.
When I finally decided to Google the business's reviews and learned what was happening and this wasn't just happening to me I actually felt validated. Thought I was going crazy till then.
I now know the brackets I ordered will never arrive, can chase a refund through the bank and report the business Ombudsman.

I too wish I had read the reviews. Like so many of you I received the wrong product then was told lies about delivery dates, tracking notes and replacements. Another example of an individual using our perception of names/logos/branding to seem legitimate. Do not trust this individual.

12/12/25 After sending a message on a Sunday i received a call, and a quote from Curtrax Ltd not Charles Rowley which, threw me a little. After doing a bit of digging on companies house and looking at these reviews i was a little sceptical. However, i can say that this company have gone above and beyond to facilitate an installation at short notice. Despite the challenges of the postal services at this time of year a succesful instal was achieved. The communication & products were second to none. Thank you, i look forward to working with you again.

What a shame.. despite being warned by my collegues in the industry about the shocking service they have recieved from this company aka charles rowley/curtrax after the last good service i needed to order more cafe rods for a client.. i have been faced with excuse after excuse about recieving a email quote as requested for over a week now and have been promised this day or that day and srill no email quote!!! .. Enough is enough.. this is not the way to do business and unfortunately i now have to resind and agree with my colleagues this company /people do not want the business and their service is appauling!

As suspected another empty promise the company who also operates as Curtrax cannot deliver.. Be careful ordering from this company i do not recommend.

Charles Rowley have gone into Liquidation..

DO NOT use Charles Rowley. They are nothing more than frauds and scammers.

The chances are that they will not have stock of the product that you order, despite this not being clear on their website.

You will wait weeks for them to get stock to fulfil your order and you will be fed lies about when your product will be back in stock.

After waiting weeks for my order, I asked for a refund and was ignored for days.

After confirming that I would pursue legal action should my refund not be received I was told not to send threatening messages to them.

It was not until I called them consistently that they got tired of me and conceded to give me my refund.

Avoid these clowns at all costs.

If you have placed an order already, contact your bank and get them to make a chargeback.

A message to Mohammed Saleem, Director of Curtrax LT - look forward to your investigation by the Trading Standards E-Crime Team.

Got a pissy message after cancelling my order. Ended up getting money back from my bank as they didn't communicate or deliver the item. AVOID!!!

Do not use this company.
They are a complete scam.

The wrong product arrived weeks late. Each time I called and emailed about receiving the correct item I was lied to about a replacement being in the post.

The person subsequently either ignored my calls or pretended to be two different people.

Awful experience, terrible human being, worse customer service.

Product good when it finally arrived. Customer service dreadful. Essentially it wasn’t their problem the product was not delivered for 4weeks. They don’t answer the phone and when I finally made contact via text/whatsapp I was met with attitude one wouldn’t expect. I asked several times to escalate and be put me through to a manager but I essentially got ignored??
