Ordered online for in-store pickup. Item was in-stock and I ordered it. Went in the next day and was told it couldnt be pulled from the store inventory because they only had 1 of the items. Have to wait a week now for it to arrive and cant do a return to buy else where and customer service was literally no help. Looks like scheels from now on
Round up program
I shop alot at cabelas. Im getting tired of the round up program. When you ask an employee where does the money go to. They do not really know. They say it's for kids!! Thats great. What kids. It seems that is top secret. Don't ask for money if you cannot tell me where it is going. Or just quit shaming people into giving money when time are hard for people. Wrongfully Accused & Denied My First Firearm Purchase
On August 9, 2025, I went to Cabela’s Lone Tree to buy my first shotgun. After telling the associate it was for me, he spoke with a manager and refused the sale — claiming my husband should buy it instead. The next day at the Monument store, staff treated me respectfully but found my name had been “flagged” for an alleged straw purchase. This was false, humiliating, and discriminatory. My husband and I have clear backgrounds and are longtime Cabela’s customers. I’m asking Cabela’s to clear my name and ensure this doesn’t happen to others.
Boat motor repair. 1 of the worst experience's I have ever had with service. I do not recommend at all. Friends advised me not to take it to Cabela's but I didn't listen. Just DO NOT Noblesville .
What went wrong. Service was horrible. Started in 2023 . There is so much to list that went wrong. Probably not enough room to say it all on here. Its not that I am going to stop shopping there, I will look to other places first instead of Cabela's.
Rifle purchase gone wrong…
Purchased a Browning rifle online that was not available at any store within 200 miles. No expected delivery date given. When it finally did arrive at the store I chose I was out of town on a business trip. I was given 10 days to pick it up or their policy is your money is refunded and the rifle sold to someone else. I paid for this in full prior to delivery by the way. I contacted customer service and was told nothing they could do I would have to reorder and wait for who knows how long. I will never spend a single dime with this company ever again. Beware purchasing a firearm from Ass pro shops.

If I can give them a 0 star I will!!! I bought a boat and they wanted my financing in house. 1st time going in and no help, second time went in and someone spoke to me. I dressed and looked homeless because I wear a suit and tie everyday for work and wanted to be comfortable. The people working there lack communication! I was forced to reach out to them several times to see the status of my boat. However, no return calls, no emails back and seem like they disappeared from the face of the earth. The finance department didn't even submit anything until I told them that I will go to my own bank, in which I did and got an approval. They promised me to install my electronics at no cost but said if I went to my own bank they wouldn't. That's not all but I had a trade and they wanted it there asap. I brought it in to them on April 22nd, 2025 and today is May 9th, 2025(almost 1 month) and opener is this weekend in which I ask them to get it done before opener. Over promised and under delivered. I emailed the general manager of the store today. We will wait to see what they say. It's the worst buying experience I have ever had. I am in sales as well and trying to give them my money. I understand that they are a big corporation and know that I am just a number to them. However, I should not be treated this way. I have been shopping at cabelas and bass pro shop since I was 16 and now I am 40. It's disappointing and after this I will not ever step a foot into another Cabela's store or a bass pro shop.
Not just that but they didn't even answer my phone calls and I had to have my wife call them to answer. Then they called me and said they don’t want me business.

No Customer Service
I went to Cabela's to shop for and get advice about a trolling motor. I drove more than 40 miles to get there. There was no one there to help. The trolling motors are just on display and you need an employee to tell you what is in stock, make recommendations, etc. There was another customer in the same area trying to get a Garmin. Those are locked up and you can't get them without customer assistance. I will never shop this Cabela's again.

Disappointing Experience — Twice!
I’ve had two separate experiences now with [Company Name] where they failed to honor their own promotions after accepting my order and confirming it via email. Most recently, I used a clearly advertised coupon code online — which was accepted at checkout — only for my order to be canceled without notice.
Their justification changed midway through: first claiming it was a GDPR issue (despite me being a U.S. customer), then switching to say the promo was “in-store only,” even though that restriction was never stated when the coupon was applied.
This kind of inconsistency and lack of transparency feels misleading, especially when it happens more than once. Customer service was dismissive and offered no resolution — not even a comparable discount or apology. It’s incredibly frustrating to spend time carefully placing an order, only to have it arbitrarily canceled without accountability.
This experience has made me lose trust in the company. I genuinely hope they improve their systems and customer service, because right now, it feels like they don’t value their customers — or their own policies.

Do not expect to get your merchandise
Ordered merchandise on January 5, 2025. Still did not get the merchandise. No way of knowing if it is the postal service problem or Cabela’s problem. This is my first and last time to deal with them. It should not be my problem!!!!!!!

I ordered a shotgun online for store pick-up. The firearm was ready for pick-up in a week. The shotgun was an excellent price, the store staff was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable.
Don't buy guns from this store
Don't buy guns from this store. They sell used and defective guns as new. The one I bought was curiously opened and I still bought it anyway after driving 3 hours for it. The gun jammed endlessly. All sales final. 0 service, but they will happily take your money.
Glocks are absolute junk these days, they have cost cut these into the ground and they don't work and dont hold up.
Absolutely Dastardly
Made an order from Cabelas Canada, two items.
All seemed normal and recieved confirmation it was shipped with UPS (UPS receives the same rating by the way).
Recieved tracking and delivery from UPS, then a rescheduled delivery date/time, then another, then another, after 4 reschedules I recieved a mail saying item returned to sender.
When I followed up UPS once again sent me a delivery date/time, then rescheduled, and then again.
Then the package was delivered damaged, they had tore the box open and stole one of the items.
Initiate claim with UPS, nothing, follow up, nothing, hten claim closed.
Finally call and they closed the claim stating Cabelas refused to provide order information.
Nothing from UPS to date, nothing from cabelas.
Just a horrible bunch, and strange as if they looked up my order profile they would see I buy alot of stuff there.
Not any more. Never use there online ordering, once it goes sideways they will drop you like a rock!

Will not even think of ordering from this company again worst online customer experience I have ever had if I could give them a zero I would. Ordered a pair of shoes for my son-in-law as those are the shoes he prefers ordered on the 15 and heard nothing from them until I called on the 22nd I figured maybe N email stating they were working on my order nothing even the CSR who responded couldn’t find anything about my order other then it had been placed told me to give until the 10 full business days and if I hadn’t received them by then to call back. Nothing heard nothing no tracking number nothing reached out again and one more time was told they couldn’t see what was going on asked me if I wanted to have them reach out to Cabela’s themselves and see what was going on in the meantime I have 280$ of my money being held because they keep re-authorizing payment even though I have nothing. They finally reach out to me to let me know my order had been canceled due to no inventory this was on the 30th and the day before I got another pending charge for shoes that are out of stock tell me why?? Especially if my order had been cancelled as they had informed me when I questioned that the only thing they sent me was an email saying my order had been canceled and I still have 280$ pending of my money that I can’t use because I have to wait however long it takes for it to fall off worst experience ever!!!
Don't buy Cabela's boots-just a rip off
I have a pair of Cabela's women's GoreTex Hypergrip boots that I have used less than probably 6 times for hiking. Today, it was snowy here so I put them on to go to work trekking in the snow. Later at work, when I got up from my desk, there were what looked like rubber shavings on the floor. As I looked further into what it was, the "shavings" were actually pieces of the boot that attach the boot bed to the boot sole!! What a piece of crap these boots are. I've barely used them, and they are totally worthless now. Can you imagine if I had worn them to hike a full day in bad weather? They would've completely fallen apart. I'm so angry, because I'm pretty sure I paid a lot of money for these, had barely used them, and now they're totally unusable. Plus, they're made in China. Thanks Cabela's. What a piece of crap.
Cabelas/Bass Pro will say anything
I contacted Cabelas in regards to trading in a gun to purchase another for my grandkids. I wanted to make sure they would do that before I drove all the way there. They assured me they do trades or cash offer, so I travelled to the Green Bay /Ashwaubenon store. I was told to wait by a counter to check in gun. After 10 minutes of no assistance (of which they were not busy except 2 employees pushing credit cards), one of the credit card pushers came over and asked me what I wanted. I said I am waiting for someone to check in my gun. She said we are not accepting trade ins or purchasing, I tried to show her my email that showed that I was told they were accepting and I should come down. She would not look at it. I insisted she check with the manager or get one. She left and went out of sight for less than a minute and came back and told me NO we aren't taking guns. Before I could say anymore to her she turned her back and went back to pushing cards. I contacted Cabelas in regards to this of which they right away offered a $20 coupon on my next purchase. I wasn't looking for that. I wanted to know why they LIED to me. Basically it came down to money. Cabelas is a destination store. Most people travel a distance to get there, and once there they spend money. They were willing to say a LIE knowing the odds are most people will make purchases. I don't care how much money people say they donate. If you like corporate donations Give your money to a company like Scheels. They donate a ton! Customer service is a by product of an owners philosophy. I contacted Cabela's management. They said they would look into it Haha. Look at all the complaints on this website. Mostly customer service related. We shouldn't accept this. What I will say is their quality, pricing, greed, and customer service will put them in a league of their own of which I and you should want no part of. It was very refreshing to then go to Scheels to have a wonderful experience. What a great company with great morals. My friends, family and I are done with Bass Pro/Cabelas!!
Just want to add to this, it is now 12/24/24. I have never heard anything back from Jaclyn (the mgr) who said she was going to look into this matter as it was of great concern. The only concern was to move on, and put out the fires of others and sweep things under the rug. Customer disservice at it greatest!
