From the moment we contacted Burnham Funeral Services after a sudden bereavement at home on Valentine’s Day, the care, compassion and professionalism we received was absolutely exceptional.
We dealt with Steph almost entirely from beginning to end, and she was truly phenomenal. At one of the most traumatic and overwhelming times imaginable, she made us feel completely supported and cared for throughout. She honestly ended up feeling like part of the family.
Nothing was ever too much trouble for her. She never once made us feel rushed, pressured or like we were taking up too much of her time. She was endlessly patient, compassionate and reassuring, and explained everything clearly, especially when the coroner became involved. It genuinely felt like our hand was being held every step of the way.
There was never any pressure or hard sell, just kindness, warmth and understanding throughout. We discussed our wishes and they not only listened, they completely surpassed them. The ceremony itself was exactly what we wanted down to every last little detail, personal, touching and handled beautifully. Even keeping the ashes safely for us until we felt emotionally ready to scatter them was done with such care and sensitivity.
The celebrant who had conducted our Gran’s funeral years ago had sadly retired, but Steph recommended somebody with such a similar warmth and style that it felt absolutely perfect for our family.
The entire experience was dignified, comforting and beautifully organised from start to finish. Strange as it sounds, it almost felt like a little loss itself when we no longer had reason to speak regularly with Steph.
We cannot recommend Burnham Funeral Services highly enough to anybody in Burnham-on-Sea or the surrounding area. In fact, the experience was so reassuring and positive that we fully intend to return in due course to arrange our own funeral plans ourselves, simply to spare our family future stress, because we know without question they would be in the very best hands.
