⚠️ Warning to Future Tenants

I booked a room through this agency via Housing Anywhere and had a very disappointing experience.

• In the very first chat message, they requested identity documents before any booking was made — a violation of Housing Anywhere's policy against sharing personal information before booking.
• Key pickup location was 40 minutes away from the property — this was never disclosed in the listing, and even when asked directly, they did not inform me.
• The rental contract was only sent days after full payment, and contained obligations far beyond what a short-term sublease should include.
• When I raised these concerns through the platform, both the agency and Housing Anywhere's customer support were unhelpful. The platform sided with the agency and refused to mediate, leaving me with no resolution.

I also noticed several reviews here mentioning similar experiences — including at least one for the same property I booked. This does not appear to be an isolated case.

I ended up losing around €1,000 — a complete waste. Please do thorough research before committing to any booking with this agency.

I had a great experience, smooth move-in and -out!

On arrival, the apartment was in terrible condition: sticky counters, a filthy oven completely black inside, a shower full of limescale, bed linen with visible make-up stains, door handles falling out of the doors, a mattress already stained under the cover, and even plaster tape on the walls left by the previous tenant. After a long day of traveling, arriving to find the apartment in this state was truly disheartening and unacceptable. Because of this, I documented everything extensively with photos and video from day one. I have full video/photo proof of the apartment’s state upon arrival.

From the start, Bulldog also had problems honoring contractual agreements. With a lot of pushing and back-and-forth, it was eventually resolved, but this was unpleasant to deal with as a tenant and gave a very unprofessional impression.

Despite this clear proof, Bulldog withheld €273.99 of my deposit, falsely blaming me for the mattress. Even when you carefully document the condition at move-in, they still try to make tenants pay for pre-existing issues.

This shows very poor customer service and unfair handling of deposits. Future tenants: be very cautious. Take plenty of photos and videos at check-in, because the apartments are not handed over in clean or proper condition, and Bulldog may still attempt to shift costs onto you. As they continue to ignore my requests for repayment, I am now preparing to take further legal steps.
