Our shipment has arrived!!
Our shipment has arrived!!
I would like to thank both the Brytor and Gateway teams for the good work and consistent great service you have provided to Gord and I.
An international move like this can be trying on the nerves … but all went quite well. Much better it seems than my experience with short local moves!
We appreciated the quick replies, the good service at pickup, the quality repacking of our precious goods, the overall precise coordination / logistics and especially, keeping us informed at all times.
Again, many thanks to all involved,
Very poor communication after a vehicle…
Very poor communication after a vehicle theft and unresolved refund
I contracted with Brytor/IMS to transport my 2024 Honda CR-V from Montréal to Tallinn, Estonia. I delivered the vehicle to their Montréal facility on July 4, 2026 and paid $6,640 CAD in advance for the shipment and associated services.
On July 31, 2026, while the vehicle was still at their Montréal facility awaiting shipment, it was stolen. The company advised me that a police report had been filed and provided information concerning the theft.
Initially, the company continued communicating with me and advised me that the $6,640 payment for the shipment would be refunded, although I was told the refund would take approximately 30 days.
As I began discussing the other losses resulting from the incident — including my insurance deductible, personal property lost with the vehicle and reasonable transportation expenses — and raised the issue of interest on the money being held, the communication effectively stopped.
I have since made further attempts to obtain a substantive response and resolution. I have received no meaningful response addressing the claim or confirming the status of the promised refund.
That has been the most frustrating part of this experience. I understand that a vehicle being stolen from a facility is a serious incident and that the company may need time to investigate it. What I find difficult to understand is the lack of communication after the company initially acknowledged that the prepaid shipment had not been completed and indicated that my payment would be refunded.
As of September 27, 2026, I am still waiting for the promised refund and a substantive response regarding the remaining losses.
I am posting this review to document my experience for prospective customers. I would welcome a response from Brytor/IMS addressing the outstanding refund and the lack of communication.
HORRIFIC experience & they've owed us money for THREE MONTHS
Absolutely HORRIFIC experience with Brytor from start to finish. They have now owed us $300 for more than three months, despite explicitly offering that reimbursement themselves, and have ignored repeated follow-ups. Today, I called again and was told they would “deal with it this week” (which we've heard before...). When I said it needed to be dealt with today given how long this has been outstanding, Jacques hung up on me.
We have moved more than 5X within Canada and twice within the U.S., with other companies, and Brytor was by far the WORST moving company we have ever used. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy.
Here's a rundown for your consideration:
1) Packing was painfully slow and careless
We paid for a full pack-and-move service. The crew packing our home was extraordinarily inefficient, and our belongings were packed in an incredibly haphazard way. Many items were not properly wrapped or protected. It also took 2X longer than any other company.
2) Delivery was delayed and cost us additional money
Their truck broke down and the delivery was significantly delayed. We live in a condo with strict move-in hours, so we gave Brytor alternative delivery options. They assured us they could complete the move within our building’s cutoff time. They did not. There was zero urgency on their side, and they just kept reassuring me it would be fine. I personally had to help move items from their truck to speed up the process. And, we had to personally pay our building for overtime staffing because they failed to finish within the agreed window.
3) They did not finish rebuilding our furniture - then told us to hire someone else
Furniture reassembly was included in the moving service. At one point, two movers were working together on a single nightstand, and the process was incredibly slow. By well after 7 p.m., they still had not finished assembling our furniture.
Brytor then gave us two options: either have their crew return another day, or hire someone ourselves to complete the remaining assembly and submit the cost to Brytor for reimbursement, up to $300.
We chose the second option specifically because Brytor offered it. We hired TaskRabbit to finish the job, paid out of pocket, and submitted the invoice exactly as Brytor instructed.
4) They then failed to reimburse the $300 they told us to spend
That reimbursement has now been outstanding for more than three months. We have followed up repeatedly by email and phone. They have not paid it and have largely stopped responding.
So, to be clear: Brytor failed to complete work that was included in our move, told us to pay someone else to finish it, promised to reimburse us, and then left us out of pocket for months. They still have not paid us back and ignore all of our outreach.
5) A significant amount of our property was damaged
Our outdoor furniture was not properly protected and arrived with large black scuffs all over that are unable to be removed. An expensive lacquer dresser arrived with a chip in the top. Kitchenware and many belongings were shattered. Our mattress was extremely dirty in many places.
Even if you opt into moving coverage, you get cents on the dollar. Nowhere close to the actual cost of repairing or replacing damaged items.
6) They asked us to sign off on damage while items were still in boxes
We were asked to sign paperwork indicating our belongings were not damaged before everything had even been fully unpacked and inspected, which is absurd.
Between damaged furniture and belongings, repair and replacement costs, building overtime caused by their delays, and the reimbursement they still have not paid, this move has cost us thousands of dollars beyond what we paid Brytor.
No matter how competitive their quote may seem, it is not worth it. NEVER use this company.
The most dishonest company to deal…
The most dishonest company to deal with, your shipment is not safe with them, I paid for services which were not provided to crate my TV and the TV got damaged during shipment. They said I had no proof that the crating service was requested even though I showed them their own invoice and proof of payment. I paid for the insurance and they denied the reimbursement. The worse company to deal with ever, pay a little bit more with a professional move and get the peace of mind for your valuables to get delivered to you safe and sound.

Our experience with Brytor…Never again
Our experience with Brytor International Moving was extremely disappointing from start to finish.
We moved from Idaho to Québec and experienced months of delays, poor communication, damaged belongings, and an exhausting claims process afterward.
The biggest issue throughout the move was communication. Our coordinator, Karol, regularly provided vague, copy-and-paste style responses that rarely answered our direct questions. We would often wait a week or more just to receive generic updates while our belongings remained delayed with no clear timeline.
The delays impacted our family far beyond inconvenience. At the time our belongings were picked up, our daughter was only around 5.5 months old. By the time many of our items finally arrived, she was nearly 11 months old. Because of the excessive delay, she completely outgrew many clothes, baby items, and belongings without ever even getting the chance to use them. As new parents trying to settle into a new country, that was incredibly frustrating and upsetting.
We repeatedly tried to be proactive and cooperative throughout the process. Before pickup, we completed and returned the documentation we believed was required and even followed up asking if anything else was needed. Despite this, after our shipment arrived damaged, we were told the protection coverage we believed we had paid for was never activated due to an additional step that was never clearly communicated to us in any meaningful way.
Our items arrived in unacceptable condition:
* Our mattress arrived filthy and damaged despite purchasing a mattress protection cover beforehand.
* Our solid wood bed frame arrived chipped, gouged, scraped, and cracked in multiple places.
* Even the unloading movers commented on how poor the packing condition was.
After 6 months of delays and damaged furniture, Brytor offered only minimal compensation based on basic carrier liability. Worse, they required us to sign a release agreement and remove our FMCSA complaint and public reviews before any payment would be issued.
We requested an in-person meeting to discuss the matter professionally and were denied.
At the end of this process, we were left feeling ignored, blamed, and pressured into giving up our rights and honest reviews in exchange for compensation.
I strongly recommend that anyone considering this company:
* thoroughly review every insurance/protection requirement themselves,
* document absolutely everything,
* and keep all communication in writing.
Unfortunately, this was one of the most stressful customer service experiences we have ever dealt with.

Severe Issues, Missing Goods, and No Ownership Taken
I rarely leave negative reviews, but after my experience with Brytor International Moving, I feel others should be aware before trusting this company with an international relocation.
I contracted Brytor for a door-to-door move from Vancouver, Canada to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The shipment involved my family’s household belongings accumulated over nearly a decade, including furniture, personal items, family memorabilia, children’s belongings, and irreplaceable possessions.
During inland transit in Mexico, I was informed that the truck carrying my shipment had been hijacked by armed individuals and that the cargo was completely lost. Based on this information, I incurred significant expenses replacing essential household items so my family could function in our new home.
Weeks later, part of the shipment was recovered. When delivery finally occurred:
Multiple boxes were missing
Numerous items were damaged
Several boxes had inconsistent or missing labels
Items belonging to other people were delivered with my shipment
What has been most disappointing is Brytor’s handling of the situation afterward. Although I paid additional fees for what was presented as “Protection Plan – Total Loss Only” coverage, Brytor later argued that hijacking was not covered and repeatedly distanced itself from responsibility by redirecting everything to third parties and destination agents.
Communication became increasingly difficult, updates were limited, and accountability was largely avoided. Despite the severity of the incident and the substantial financial and emotional impact on my family, there has been no meaningful resolution or ownership taken by Brytor.
The origin packing crew was professional, and some staff members initially communicated well. However, the overall experience became one of the most stressful and disappointing service experiences I have ever encountered.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend Brytor for international moving services. Although the company markets and sells a full door-to-door relocation service, when serious problems occurred, responsibility was repeatedly shifted to third parties and subcontractors rather than being managed directly.

Extremely disappointing experience with Brytor International Moving.
I hired Brytor for my move from Redmond, Washington to Toronto, and the experience was frustrating from start to finish. Delivery took almost three months longer than expected, and one of my most valuable items, a PlayStation 5, went missing during transit. When the shipment finally arrived, the box that had contained the PS5 was already open. Brytor’s own claims department confirmed in writing that the box was received already open when it reached their facility, which is very concerning and makes the situation feel highly suspicious.
Before the move, I discussed purchasing the All Risk protection plan with Brytor staff and completed the valued inventory list they requested. Despite that, they later claimed that my insurance was not activated because a different form had not been submitted. At no point did anyone tell me that my coverage would not be valid or that further steps were required.
Communication throughout the move was inconsistent and often confusing. I received conflicting information about where my belongings were and had to keep following up to get any updates. When the items finally arrived, some boxes appeared mishandled, and the missing PS5 issue was never properly resolved. Instead of taking responsibility, Brytor referred me to a subcontractor, which made things even more difficult.
The entire experience has been stressful and disappointing. Based on what happened, especially the fact that one of my boxes was reportedly received open at their facility, I completely lost confidence in how my shipment was handled. I now have to take Brytor to small claims court to seek reimbursement for the missing item.
If you are planning an international move, I strongly recommend choosing another company. Make sure every insurance and coverage detail is confirmed in writing before your belongings are shipped. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend not choosing Brytor International Moving for your move.

Brytor was the clearing and delivery agent in Montréal for a shipment by sea that I have sent through a shipping company in Dubai to Montreal (personal belongings).
Brytor kept me informed of all steps pertaining to clearing my belongings and having it delivered to my residence, and even kept me informed at moments when there was some administrative hiccups with the shipping company in Dubai.
The delivery man also provided an excellent service and have received my belongings intact. Had a lot of fragile items. Highly recommend this company.
A very good team
They were on time , fast and efficient , very professional !

Dubai to Alberta…
I have moved from Dubai to Alberta recently. I used the service from Priority Relocation agent in Dubai and Brytor to handle the international movement. It was very efficient and adequate communication throughout the process to handle 41 Boxes.
The staff were very supportive and professional; highly skilled in unloading my large volume of boxes including few heavy household items such as Sofa's and Bicycles.
Overall professional service and highly recommended.
I’ve used Brytor 3 times
I’ve used Brytor 3 times. No need to look elsewhere. Service was excellent each time. Feels like a small company because you always deal with a real human. They’re on time, and the packing crew is professional and kind. Exactly what you need in times of stress
5 star services all the way
5 star services all the way. Most professional moving service I have ever experienced.
Professional international moving services
I'm super happy with the professionalism, ease, and customer service of Brytor. They helped pack all the odd-shaped things and made shipping things from Canada to Bali easy. They communicated regularly with shipping updates. Everything went smoothly. I highly recommend them for moving internationally.
Professional international movers. Highly Recommend
These guys were professional and helpful every step of the way, for my move from Nova Scotia to Wales, UK. The packers were polite, clean & tidy & fast! They took care of the paperwork & relieved me of a great deal of stress, as I undertook this journey on my own, after my husband passed.
There were no hiccups & no disasters! The only thing I might mention - as I saw this in a few other reviews when I was deciding who to use, is that there is no 'standard' insurance included. You have to buy insurance from another company, 'maritime transit protection plan' (I think it was called). Which I understand that means if the container goes missing & its a total loss - then you'll be compensated - it doesnt cover 1 item going missing, or 1 item being damaged. So I wanted specific coverage for my antique bed, but the company dealing with that failed to get me any quotes in time before my shipment left Montreal - so its was totally uninsured - which is a little nerve-wracking! But not Brytor's fault. Fortunatlely, everything arrived in perfect condition - thanks to Brytor's excellent packers. I would certainly recommend Brytor for moving household items internationally.
Also a note for potential movers to UK - fill in your TOR!!! (Transfer of Residence form) this means your personal items will not be subject to customs. This is your responsability not your movers!!
Brytor International : Never again.
The relocation from this company in Canada Brytor, and in Spain AGS was the worst experience of my life. I am not sure and still thinking that this is was a SCAM. I was misguided on many occasions and documents, so I was told, to customs in Spain were submitted by Brytor employee without my consent. She even estimated the value of my shipment and submitted it on my behave without my consent. The last document being Dirigido al actuario de la Aduanav (Addressed to the Customs Actuary) was delayed by a month due to me receiving the wrong information from AGS employee and him being on holiday. There was no one to assist me, finally a family friend a layer formatted the document and it was accepted. I asked on many occasions if I should involve a lawyer in. the process, but was not never given a definite answer.
There are many other details about my move such as in case of delay, the storage would be only 100 Euro a month (and I have emails from Brytor employee on this) at the end, I ended up spending 7500 Euro just to have my personal belongings and my car released. Since my items were already in storage for 2+ months, I had to pay import taxes in Spain on my car which could have been avoided if everything had been done on time.
I have many other issues with both people I worked with on my relocation, if you have any questions, you can contact me directly via DM. I would suggest avoiding both companies, if you are thinking of relocating to Europe. I should have taken the reviews of both companies seriously but I was driven by the relocation price. Their rating is very low and please take them seriously, because they are real. I won't say anymore as I will be taking these companies and individuals to court as soon as I am back in Canada.
Do your research and IGNORE AGS and ims.brytor.ca in your relocation selection.
Thanks for listening.
