My experience with this firm, as a litigant in person dealing with family proceedings, was disappointing. Communication was frequently adversarial in tone, and issues that could have been dealt with proportionately were often escalated unnecessarily.

I found that correspondence tended to assume contested positions rather than engaging constructively with the underlying issues, which made resolution more difficult and increased stress and cost. There was limited acknowledgement of my attempts to cooperate or narrow matters.

Others may have different experiences, but based on my own, I would urge anyone engaging this firm in family matters to be very clear about objectives, proportionality, and how correspondence will be handled.

I am not a client of Bross Bennett’s, but I do interact with them on occasion. They are pleasant enough, but seem fundamentally disorganised and are well known for being deficient in their understanding of family law. They regularly miss court deadlines, when they don’t forget them altogether. They appear to employ the sunk cost model to keep their clients on the drip, rather than adding any real value. There is no evidence to suggest they have ever resolved a case amicably, let alone in their client’s favour. There are so many good alternatives out there… your money is better spent elsewhere.

Our BB had a textbook understanding of the issues facing us, which we're been working on for over a decade. What made him dangerous was the assumption that he was the expert, so understood better than we did. This made him easy to manipulate, causing further harm.

BB represented my wife in our divorce. From the start they were unnecessarily aggressive, and continually allowed her to behave unreasonably throughout a multi-year process, with the result that the cost of the divorce has financially crippled our family. My view and experience is that in a number of ways they conducted their role so as to allow their fees to be maximised, which is exactly what you do not want in a divorce lawyer, particularly where children are involved (which they were). Any reference to being Resolution lawyers isn’t worth paying any attention to in my opinion.

My sister is currently using Bross Bennett for her divorce. I've dealt with a number of solicitors and I've never been so unimpressed with the service provided to her. I would not recommend them, particularly for cases involving any aspect in international family law.
