The company does well with updates. However, joining this program has made it difficult for me to acquire rental housing due to the hit that my credit score takes from joining this program, after I was told by an agent on the phone that it would not. Also, it is not progressing as fast as it should. By the time a settlement is sent to me for approval, the interest is piled on to the original balance I had, making the balance look higher and the savings look better. In reality, if I would have just taken a loan instead of joining this debt relief program, my credit score would not be as bad as it currently is, the credit cards would have been satisfied, then I would've cancelled the excess and would have only one bill to pay for about the same that is going into y escrow account monthly.

It is hard to understand some of the representatives. Every time I ask numbers, I get a different answer.

I’m really not happy at this point with Brookhaven. They dropped the ball on a settlement that should’ve been paid in full and one payment now I’m making payments on it. I just found out because of the laziness of getting the settlements done. I have now a credit collections notice on my credit report so I am not very happy until I can talk to somebody and get some of this resolved.

It had been a very positive experience overall excellent communication.

The way they explain everything i can understand

I am about 9 months into the program I called because I received a settlement email. The person was friendly and assure me everything will be fine. She made feel at ease. She answered all my questions. I accepted the settlement. Great Service!

I have been with this program for almost a year now and only one of the four accounts have been attended to. I had 2 smaller accounts removed and handled myself because there was no communication with the creditors after 3 months and one I asked them not to settle they did anyway. the largest one they havent started as i have received court notices. the phone calls at some point should from an attorney not an associate(which could be customer service). At this point I feel like im stuck and want considering bankruptcy because if seems like they arent moving in my best interest

Great at communicating when contact contact is made. Sometimes, not very easy get the correct person to talk to.

This process is extremely long and honestly not what expected. The fees are outrageous. The statements are not easy to read. My husband used a different company, paying less per month for the same amount of time (3 1/2 year term) and owed significantly more than. I. He is almost completely done. Finishing his term almost 8 months earlier than expected. He receives a written statement in the mail monthly on where he stands with each company. What was paid and current balance on each. Not some complicated spreadsheet. If I had known this company operated the way they do I would never have used them. My credit is beyond bad. I have no choice to continue as no other company can step in and take over. Almost 2 years in and still have companies that haven't been settled. Meanwhile all the late fees keep accruing. Don't use this company

Brookhaven has been very easy to work with and has always answered any questions about the process. All of the customer service people I have spoken to in the last 18 months have been amazing. They have kept me informed once something was settled. I am very grateful for all of there hardworking people.

When I signed up for your service I was told that the most important thing was to ensure the debit continued for 3 months for the service to be most successful. I upheld that but what I have noticed is that using your service has greatly damaged my credit rating over the last 3 months. Additionally, I had the major debitor charge off the balance, which is not what I was led to believe would happen. You, or so it seems, helped to settle some of the smaller accounts but at this point it looks like a pyrrhic victory. So far I'm not convinced I made the right decision... When I talk to your representatives and express these concerns, I get the impression that they are simply blowing off my inquiries.

Tell the truth up front.

It's a fairly straightforward process, defualt on unsecured debts, debts rack up with interest and fees, what was a 500-dollar balance balloons into a 1200-dollar balance, a settlement agreement is made for 400, which albeit is less than the original balance, is not a 67% savings as they like to boast about when they get your acceptance for the settlement offer.
