Please read the other reviews. Should you need to return one of their items: 1. You must post back at your own expense 2. They automatically tack on a 10% 'handling and restocking' fee 3. They won't return the entirety of the 90% refund if you've altered it in any way due to installation (how else would one know it's faulty just by looking at it? Therefore of course our builder will have installed, then uninstalled the lock, which constitutes 'damage') 4. They don't actually send you an email telling you they've received the return; it's up to you to chase them.
Contrast this to NUKI, the actual manufacturer of the smart door lock, who will refund 100% if you're not satisfied, no questions asked. The lesson here is, go directly to the manufacturer, not to a reseller like Brisant Secure.
Poor Product Knowledge and Slow Return Process
I had a disappointing experience with Brisant Secure when I ordered a lock that was incompatible with my smart lock setup. Before placing the order, I specifically called their technical support team to ensure I was buying the right product for my use case. Since I am not an expert on locks, I wanted to avoid any mistakes by getting professional advice. Despite explaining my requirements - specifically needing a lock that could work with a smart lock while allowing me to unlock the door from the outside - I was sold a cylinder that did not meet these needs.
If I had ordered the lock online without consulting their team, I would have taken full responsibility for the issue. However, I trusted their technical support to guide me to the correct product, and yet I ended up with something that was not fit for purpose. After installing the lock, I found that I couldn't unlock the door from the outside when the key was inserted on the inside, making it completely incompatible with my smart lock.
When I contacted customer support, they initially took no responsibility, saying that I should have understood the lock's mechanical operation (a single clutch system). This completely disregarded the fact that I had called for their expertise. Instead of acknowledging the mis-sell, they insisted that I return the item at my own cost and also charged a 15% handling fee, along with a de-pinning fee because the lock was keyed to my unique code.
After I mentioned the Consumer Rights Act 2015, they agreed to waive the handling and additional fees as long as the product was in perfect condition. However, the return process was painfully slow. Despite FedEx confirming delivery of the returned item, I had to follow up multiple times to get any updates. It took several emails back and forth before they finally acknowledged receipt of the return. Only then did they begin processing my refund, which they said could take up to 7-10 working days.
Overall, I'm frustrated by the lack of proper advice from their technical team, the unwillingness to accept responsibility for selling a product that was unfit for my needs, and the unnecessarily lengthy returns process. It shouldn't take this much effort for a simple return and refund.
I advise anyone dealing with Brisant Secure to be extra cautious, especially if you're relying on their technical support for advice. They may not fully understand or communicate how their products work in specific situations. Based on my experience, I won't be purchasing from them again.
Ultion Nuki Plus Smart Lock with Fingerprint Keypad
The service received from Ultion/Brisant Secure from start to finish was faultless… unfortunately, the actual lock (manufactured by Nuki) left a lot to be desired and was in my experience, completely unfit for the purpose (B&B).
Extremely temperamental and unreliable from installation, one of the Power Pack’s also failed after just one charge, and within four months, the motor in the actual lock had jammed, rendering it completely useless.
Installation: Took a lot longer than the suggested few minutes in the brief, online installation video. (Not helped by the fact that the current Ultion lock had wedged in place over time, or that my box had been mis-packaged and a crucial part was missing). The technical team at Brisant were very helpful with the initial installation teething problems.
App: Is excellent with a huge range of options to personalise your specific lock. Again, Brisant and their technical team were extremely knowledgeable and helpful regarding how to tailor the lock via the app to my specific requirements.
Functionality: This is where the lock fell flat and depending on various conditions, certain ‘knacks’ to get it to work came into play. E.g. In windy weather – the lock would fail unless you pulled the handle towards you as it was unlocking. (As an internal door lock, it might suffice, but for use on an external door, major improvements are required).
The list of knacks was frankly endless, rendering it completely unworkable in certain environments (e.g. a B&B – albeit the lock is supposed to be fully integrated for use with AirBnB).
Keypad: Is supposed to be waterproof, and yet, the fingerprint function doesn’t work if the keypad is wet.
Battery Pack: The manufacturers suggest that you can charge the battery without removing it from the lock. You can’t. The cable (that they insist you must use for it to charge correctly) is 18” long so even with an extension lead etc, this is impossible. I purchased a spare battery pack to alleviate this issue. Unfortunately, the spare battery packs (supplied by Ultion) weren’t as powerful as the original – the result being that the lock struggled to unlock and failed more frequently, unless the original battery was being used.
In summary: The ability to give guests remote access/check-in, without the need for keys or to be present held huge appeal. In practice: I was tied to house more than ever as I babysat the lock and ensured that my guests could gain access as required. It was actually a relief when the lock failed altogether, and I could re-fit the old Ultion lock, safe in the knowledge that guests would be able to access the property with a good old-fashioned (but functional) key. To their credit, Ultion/Brisant offered a full refund without any issue.
Avoiding Brisant Secure
I moved into a new home and when I went to get new keys cut i was told they were Uliton security keys and I would have to go via Brisant. I paid nearly £70 pounds to get new keys. The first time the new key was used it got stuck in the lock. The kitchen fitter using the key went out, got a new lock, and replaced it so that i didn't have to call a locksmith. The company take no responsibility for this, despite the fact I was using the door perfectly well with the original key I had. They offered me 20% off a new lock which, needless to say, I won't be using. Really disappointing customer service.
Years of various products and services all great
Started with an Ultion/Nuki smart front door lock replacement and everything was good.
Moved onto adding another Ultion/Nuki smart lock and replacing two other barrels with matching keys and the lengths their representatives went to to be helpful with some quite tricky details was excellent.
Products all great too.
Recently had a failed Nuki lock and received a replacement within 24 hours after very simple support calls.
I don't understand the one-star reviews at all as I've had multiple dealings for multiple purchases and issues and never had anything but excellent service and product experience.

Very rude
Very rude, unprofessional and uncaring company. Repeatedly deny lock is the problem and blame the door. Refuse to help and when we have the barrel replaced and suddenly the door locks they still deny it’s their lock and blame the door. Rude email talking down to the customer. My parents have enough going on they don’t need condescending emails. Going to report them because it’s clear from the reviews they don’t take responsibility for their products being so poor and breaking. The people who fitted our door on the other hand went above and beyond even fitting a new barrel (not ultion) for free to help them out. I think this company needs investigating based on so many having similar issues.
Twice I’ve had a an Ultion lock fail…
Twice I’ve had a an Ultion lock fail from these guys, Brisant will do all they can to avoid helping and pass blame on. Same issue twice now leaving us locked in the property, the first time Brisant after lengthy discussion came out and replaced the lock, proving it was their issues with their kit. However this time the ‘locksmith’ was able to allegedly diagnose the issue over the phon and pass blame on to someone else. The same fault twice, however this time won’t address the fault as couldn’t be bothered to come out on a bank holiday Sunday.

Faulty electronic key fob replaced
I had a faulty electronic key fob after about 11 months. After a couple of emails, I very quickly received a replacement in the post. Very pleased with their customer service.

A company not to be trusted. They blame any other item rather than the broken lock. They cover up for each liar, in the office. Craig and Luck. They do not honour the .anufacturer warranty. Not a company to deal with and the product is rubbish.

I did not realise that key system is only suitable for iPhone and not Android. The keys were delivered promptly and work OK.
Poor customer service
I had an Ultion key following a new door last year. The key came with a colour key cover, which broke quickly. I contacted customer service, and they sent a replacement in the post. I did not understand how to fix it; because of this, I decided to go back to the website to change the lock to an intelligent key. Following several conversations, I was asked to send a picture to ensure my door/measurement, and it was accepted that I could use the ULTION Nuki Plus. I have reviewed the website, and I was sure I wanted a black colour, which was specified on my receipt.
At first, I was surprised that the company would not fix the intelligent key, but I was referred to the workforce, and it took a month to get a locksmith. And to my surprise, I was sent a white colour. When contacted, they responded that DPD made mistakes; I told them that could not be true as my address was already on the box. I believe you have labelled it and sent it for delivery.
There was no apology. I was told to return it for an exchange and would be charged if it was not in a resealable condition.
I feel this was unfair, and there was no single apology in their correspondence; instead, I feel ignored.
This is a poor customer service/ relationship after spending so much on the smart key.
Epic 25 hour service! And on a Sunday!!
Fitted my own front door with Ultion lock supplied. Registered my guarantee with Brisant on the Saturday afternoon after a susscessful days fitting and it asked if I’d like some extra key. Clicked yes and said I’d get a callback Sunday at 10:20am.
I then did a bit of googling about locks as it said I could get locks to match my new fancy key. So I whipped two out, measured and waited.
Sunday rolls around, 10:20 on the nose a phone call. Super helpful lady called Pippa took my details and I ordered 3 spare keys and two locks with thumb turns. Couple hours later I get emails from DPD about a pending delivery. Ok. Probably pre booked for mid to end of the week. Locks and keys have to be machined after all.
Monday morning, delivered at 10:10am!!
Epic 25 hour service. All fit perfect.

Terrible Customer Service and overall service
Ordered 2 Locks with keys on Fri very quick to take my order DIDNT realise after bumbling around for lock size etc.
Having lock I’m my hand able to take measurements as and when requested.
Turned up Monday as stated by DPD no problems there.
However this where the fun started !!
Opened the package to see the locks had been made wrong with the rhumb turn being 50 and not 40.
No use to me at all.
Around 10.30 I ring ULTION Locks or Brisant secure to talk to someone to rectify and correct the locks?
After an eternity the phone was answered I explained the situation to be told there is no one free at the moment can I get them to call you back? Yes I replied ! When would you like them to call asap?
4 hours later still no call back rang them again went through all the mornings proceedings ? This is the wrong department I will put you through to the right department?
Got to the right department explained the ongoing Saga to be told give your telephone Number again along with my e-mail address AGAIN and told someone would contact me!!!
This was MONDAY!
Today is Wednesday still nothing concerning my lock issue.
Took the bull by the horns and again rang them and asked what the situation was or is to be told we have been very busy ?? However your business is very important to us!!
Again I passed on the details I wanted of the correct locks I required.
We will contact you in the next half an hour to take payment and ask you for Key number oh looks like success at last. WRONG They tied to contact unsuccessfully at 11.11. Again I rang them went through all the rig meroll of the ongoing Saga again to be told we are very busy! Same old same old.
Explained the service I had received was shocking.
Have dealt with them before and was very pleased with service received.
I hope someone in authority reads this and takes note.

AMAZING SERVICE
I have recently had a new porch door fitted with locks and keys provided by Brisant Secure. I needed to purchase an extra key for my daughter. Firstly, I had a brief conversation with Trudy (Trudi?) using the web chat and later phoned the company and spoke to her. She booked a telephone call to arrange for a new key. Grace contacted me and placed the order. Both ladies were very professional and pleasant. Key arrived within 24 hours. Amazing service.
Great customer service
Customer service rectifying a problem was excellent. Called me back, talked me through a diagnostic test and had a new lock couriered within 24 hours. All under warranty

Appalling customer service
Appalling customer service. Ordered 2 ultion keys from them & there was an issue with delivery on the couriers side. Obviously not their fault but they couldn’t have handled it any worse than they did!! I contacted them about the potentially missing keys and they were extremely rude and unhelpful. After 4 calls with promises of call backs to update me that never materialised, they eventually gave me their head office number. They failed to acknowledge the fact that my house keys were potentially missing and the stress that was causing me!! They did eventually call me back to update me but the ‘guaranteed’ delivery by the end of the day never materialised. Still waiting on my keys! Maybe time for them to change their courier company!!
