I am so suprised by the feedback here because I am not only a current customer but a previous one from when I was 18. I am 28 now and the service I received is still as great as I did back then. I contacted the shop as I signed up to the cycle 2 work scheme with my job and they kindly past me over to the web team who are in charge of this. I had sent over an order for my bike, parts and helmet. The amazing Andrea contacted me the next day to inform me that due to a miscalculation the bike was not in stock however after some brainstorming me and him came to a final solution which in fact was better than what I ordered. (Ordered a steel frame ended up with an amazing aluminium one). Once the order was finalised he took my number as well as email to keep me updated on the build and got me to send over exact measurements and gear ratios. This was done on the 25th. About 2 days later I had an email from Andrea letting me know all the parts had been collected and would be on there way to the shop the next day for building. I'm quite particular about my bike so I had a last minute request to change the bars from risers to drops. Andrea said this was no problem and said if I need anything else let him know. On the 28th he confirmed the parts would be at the shop ready for building. I then sent an email on the 1st to see how things where going and I received an email with my bike completely built down to the exact spec I asked for!!!!! They did not short out on anything and the attention to detail was 10/10! Even hooked me up with better drop bars and a T-shirt!!
He also confirmed that it would be getting shipped on the 2nd!!!! By mid day on the 2nd I had a confirmation email from FedEx for next day delivery before 6pm!!!!! It is the 3rd today and I am writing this after having one of the most amazing rides on an absolutely quality BLB viper!!! I can't thank Andrea, the web team and the shop staff enough for all there help and I would strongly recommend that whoever is considering going to there shop, please ignore these negative comments because they are truly a one of a kind bike shop in the heart of East London!!!

P.S . The fact that I live in Manchester and still received the same level of customer service if not better, as I did when I lived in London say it all about the shop!!

Tried buying a custom frame from them, when discussing details they stopped replying on two occasions so I gave up.

I bought some bike components from the over a month ago. So far no sign of the items and no response to any of my many email. Just a big scam!

I wish I'd seen the reviews on here before I made a purchase. Bought spray paints for my bike and paid via PayPal. Received no confirmation of purchase or when the parcel would be shipped. Almost 2 weeks later (with no communication or product) I emailed the store for them to say it hadn't been collected so was shipped back? No apology or explanation. When I questioned why this happened I didn't receive a response. Eventually saying they could refund me minus the postage or ship again with postage. So over a month since ordering the sprays a refund was eventually made minus £7.60!! At no point did Brick Lane Bikes explain or apologise for their lack of communication in shipment, but instead charged me for their error. So I'm now £7.60 down for nothing!! I wouldn't waste your time or money.

TERRRIBLE customer service. Sold item as "reflective" which is not "reflective" and would not refund return postage cost for their error! Disgusting. Avoid.

I brought a free wheel bike with them and after only 1/2 month the bike was ruined and making noises. I went there to talk and try to understand why but they didn’t care so much to give discount or try to maintain the costumer telling me the cost would be almost a new one. Too much hype for a bad bike shop in London.

Was very disappointed that I bought two expensive ebikes that they wouldn't offer a discount on, to then find that they discounted the bikes the next week by 20%!

Leaves a really bad taste in the mouth. I would find it very hard to recommend them.

I will be going elsewhere for the upgrades and accessories. They don't care. They have my money.

I’m surprised about the reviews here. The staff were incredibly helpful and fixed my sons bike in no time at all. Really glad this handy little shop is so close by.

Been coming here about 3 years now. They are lovely lads, always helpful, never rip you off, always upfront about costs. Today Jim served me and he was fab, even fitted the bell I bought which I was gonna do myself, and made a bottle holder for me cos my bike won't hold the proper cage thing (I dunno what it's called). It's a great shop, I highly recommend. Thank you boys.

Totally unreliable. Save yourself time by using a different bike shop.

Placed an order on the friday, and was sent an email telling me it had been shipped on the Monday. Good service, I thought.

Then I got an email saying the product wasn't actually in stock and my order had been cancelled. An item being mistakenly in stock is an understandable mistake, but being told the product was shipped when it hadn't wasn't acceptable. Looked through other reviews and there are similar stories elsewhere.

Horrible Customer Service. Unfortunately after being advised to visit the spot for their great range of bikes, I was met by rudeness and microaggression by the employee of Brick Lane Bikes. First time I went to spot alone, the guys were actually nice/ok, the spot was already closed and they nicely asked me to come the day after. On the 10th of April I went with a friend and when our turn came, the employees purposely ignored us for 3 minutes pretending to look somewhere else. To the point where me and my friend we were standing there looking around to understand what was happening. Bare in mind me and my friend are both BLACK. Disgusting and disrespectful approach which doesn't help the brand. I work for a huge company and since the good days are approaching, a lot of people are definitely looking to get a new bike and since we have the Cycle to Work Scheme I will make sure to share my horrible experience with them and not recommend the shop. Do better it's 2021!!

Great bikes but consistently rude customer service. Often talk down to you, ignore what you say or ask, all of which is possibly unsurprising since everyone who works there seems to be a cocky young guy. Shame because the bikes are ace.

Ordered a pannier rack yesterday on way to work and it arrived tonight.

Well packaged, a terror delivery service from Yodel and a good price. Could not have been a better or easier online shopping experience.

Good sized shop with helpful staff and great selection of new and vintage bikes

I bought a 6KU fixie from BLB and I'm very happy with the service. I phoned to check my order and for advice and they were really cool. The bike arrived as quick as could be expected and in perfect condition. An excellent service overall. Thanks BLB!

Safety issue - unsafe 6KU Bike sold to me with feet clips too large - they clip the front wheel making it dangerous on tight turns. BBB admitted they knew of this problem when sold me the bike but didn’t warn me.

BBB staff member told me: “Yes, it’s a problem with bikes with this frame design, yesterday a customer came off his bike because of this.” I’ve used feet clips on a variety of bikes for over ten years and never had a bike shop fit ones that are the wrong size, and clip front wheel. I have never bought a 6KU before so was totally unaware of frame size differences. Really unsafe for BBB to fit wrong clips, not warn me before buying and to refuse to change them without me paying for the unsafe ones they originally fitted.

They HAVE the correct size foot clips in stock but refuse to refund and replace unsafe ones they sold me....strange way to treat your customers safety.
