Boot latch failed to operate. I contacted Brayleys and it sounded as though this was a problem that had been encountered before. Booked an appointment (5/12) to investigate the problem . Problem identified but replacement latch not in stock even though the problem was probably known. Booked a further appointment (12/12) when new latch fitted under warranty. I believe the delay was due to Brayleys needing to gain Kia approval and parts for warranty work. During second appointment, staff took the opportunity to update navigation system which had not been done at the service in September.
Overall. Pleased with the outcome, but disappointed with the delay, involving extra journey and waiting time, which may (?) have been unavoidable.
because of this incident, I realised that not being able to operate the boot latch from outside the car would be a major problem in the event of a latch failure with a boot full of luggage or a puncture! A physical key opening facility should exist as it does for the doors.

Staff are friendly and courteous. I've had my car serviced there regularly for many years now and always found them first class. This year, for the first time, I had to arrange a collection and return (Note: You must be located within a 10 mile radius). Having arranged this some weeks ago, I was impressed with David, who rang me the evening before to confirm that he would be collecting my car the next morning at between 8:00 and 9:00. He duly arrived right on time and also returned my car that same afternoon. Great personal service!

I saw a car I liked on the website and decided to go and look around Harpenden to see the actual cars. The staff were all so knowledgeable and helpful and I bought the car at a good price compared to other dealerships that I’d walked around. This is the third car I’ve bought from them over the years so I highly recommend Brayleys.

Booked my Kia in for an MOT and was provided extortionate prices for repairs.

I then ordered a part from them that didn’t arrive when expected, and when it did finally arrive it took me having to chase them rather then receiving a call as was promised repeatedly.

Definitely won’t be back

I will add specifics to make clear that the labour charges are also extortionate. I was quoted £244 to buy and fit an indicator repeater unit. The cost to buy was around £120 (which I purchased direct from the dealership), meaning the labour charge was ~£120. I got it fit at a different garage and they didn’t even bother charging for that part, saying it was only a few minute job!

That’s just one example…

Please please please, go to a local reputable garage and avoid dealerships like this.

Service for my kia appointment was made without hassle. Call given when car was ready . Car was spotlessly clean when I picked it up . What more can you ask for

I recently purchased a Kia Picanto from the Harpenden Brayley dealership and so very glad that I chose them. From start to finish, Jon Simpson was just fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble and Jon went above and beyond in assisting with my enquiries/requirements.
