Car was collected and returned as scheduled. I had to change to Brayley Hemel due to collection postcode changes. However, unlike my many happy years having my car serviced with Brayley St Albans, it was returned not having been washed and hoovered. Just a small thing, but good customer service which was always much appreciated. Service and MOT were carried out as booked and recommendations etc listed.

St Albans Branch - Amazing Experience
I’ve had an amazing experience over the past week with Brayleys Hyundai St Albans. My daughter purchased a Hyundai i10 for her first car and it was immaculate both inside and out. In particular, Lewis Hughes was absolutely amazing. He was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and patient in helping us pick the right car. He never pressured us into anything and made the whole process so much more enjoyable. He really went above and beyond to help us in any way possible so an absolutely massive thank you to him!

Tried to overcharge; car not cleaned
I exclude the delivery driver from these comments - he was 5*+
Your administrator tried to charge me £50 for collection & return, which is something included in my package - I see this as a try on.
You no longer wash my car, I'm told it is because you plant trees instead. So my service is less because of a decision I have no part in. What next? - will you stop changing the oil because that is better for the environment?

Dear John, Thank you for your feedback, and I’m sorry to hear that parts of your recent experience left you feeling disappointed.
Firstly, I’m very pleased to hear your positive comments about our driver and I will make sure this feedback is passed on to him.
In relation to the collection and delivery charge, I apologise for the confusion on this occasion. The service advisor you spoke with was covering temporarily and was not initially aware that your particular service plan includes collection and delivery. As soon as this was brought to her attention the charge was removed, but I am sorry that this was raised in the first place.
Regarding vehicle cleaning, we recently made the decision to discontinue complimentary washes following service as part of wider measures to reduce water usage, chemical consumption and congestion on site. We do recognise that this is a change for customers who were used to this previously, and we understand that it may not be a welcome one for everyone. Your feedback on this point is certainly noted.
I do appreciate you taking the time to share your comments, and I hope we will have the opportunity to provide you with a smoother experience on your next visit.

Very good dealership

My car was booked in for a service
My car was booked in for a service, easy to arrange a date. The service details are all electronic these days.
The service team were friendly.
My car was not cleaned after the service which was disappointing and has not happen previously.

Dropped my car in for a service and…
Dropped my car in for a service and mot. Manoj on the service desk was super helpful and very polite. Nothing was too much trouble. The car was ready early and he phoned as he said he would. There was no being kept waiting. Really felt that i had a personal service.

Car service
Very pleasant experience, a courteous and professional service manager greeted us and explained in detail when our car would be ready for collection, we were told between 17.00/18.00, In fact it was ready by midday, I would highly recommend Brayleys cars for all your Honda requirements.

Unsatisfactory experience
On the health check we were told we needed 3 new wiper blades and rear discs and pads to a cost of £439. This was prior to an MOT. We questioned this work and asked for the MOT to be carried out without any work being done. The vehicle passed the MOT with no advisories whatsoever. This has left us with no confidence in a company we have used for approx 15 years.

Hi Barry, Thank you for your feedback. I’d like to clarify a couple of important points regarding the items you mentioned. In relation to the front wiper blades, these would only be failed or advised on an MOT if they are split, damaged, or not effectively clearing the windscreen to provide an adequate view of the road. If the blades are functioning correctly and clearing the screen properly, they would not receive an advisory. It appears the service technician may not have clearly explained the difference between an MOT requirement and a maintenance recommendation, and I apologise for any confusion this caused. Regarding the brakes, there are typically two circumstances in which they would receive an MOT advisory. If the brake pads are close to the legal minimum thickness of 1.5mm. If the tester is able to clearly see the pads or discs through the wheels and determine they are nearing the wear limit. If neither of these conditions apply, and the braking performance meets the required standard, then no advisory would be issued, which explains why your vehicle passed the MOT without advisories. The health check carried out prior to the MOT is a preventative maintenance inspection rather than a legal roadworthiness test. Recommendations made at that stage are often based on wear levels that may not yet meet advisory or failure criteria but could require attention in the near future. However, this distinction should have been communicated more clearly to you at the time, particularly when discussing work totalling £439. We completely understand how this situation would affect your confidence, especially after 15 years of loyalty, and we sincerely apologise for the frustration caused. Your feedback is extremely important, and we will be reviewing how our team explains health check findings versus MOT requirements to ensure clearer communication in future.
CARS ONLINE APPEAR NOT TO HAVE BEEN CLEANED INSIDE. UNPLEASANT.
Update: Brayleys have responded and I have been in contact with them. At least I received a response, which is always a good indication that the company cares about its customers. I will revisit their website in the near future to see whether things have improved before I decide whether I will consider purchasing a car from them but have given them an additional star for 'effort'.
About to visit to view available used cars for sale. Checked online first and appalled to see really filthy cars listed for sale. I note that customers are reporting that cars are no longer cleaned following a service and it would appear that cleaning is now very low down on their list of priorities. I do not expect to spend thousands of pounds of a vehicle that has obviously just been put on sale as it was received from the previous owner. The previous Hyundia dealership in St Albans always had extremely high standards and one would never see a dirty car on their lot. In fact cars for sale online always appear to have had a good clean, which I would think is a basic requirement. This reflects on general standard and I would be concerned as to what is actually going on behind the scenes.

I’m sorry to read your comments, as this certainly doesn’t reflect the standards we aim to uphold. We have a clear process in place whereby used vehicles are not photographed or advertised until they have been professionally cleaned and prepared, so I am concerned to hear your experience suggests otherwise.

We take great pride in the presentation of our vehicles and fully agree that customers should not expect to purchase a vehicle that appears unprepared. I would welcome the opportunity to review this personally and reassure you.
MOT conducted at a different garage off site?
Booked in for MOT. Done promptly while i waited, staff friendly and waiting room comfy. However i did notice after that the test had been conducted at a different garage off site- i presume my car had been driven there and back while i was in the waiting room which i found unnerving after
