Bloomberg Exam Prep - Gmat - Honest Review!
I’ve been studying for the GMAT for quite a while but didn’t really feel like I was improving. I’ve seen a lot of the different prep courses out there but wasn’t sure what kind of value I would be getting and if I could not just reproduce the results by studying on my own. Finally, I decided to give Bloomberg Exam Prep a try. For full disclosure, I was offered to be upgraded to the free plan upgrade as an incentive for sharing my experience, but this is my honest take. They have not seen or influenced this review in any way, except requiring it to be my genuine take and to disclose this to you.
After first accessing the website, I was instantly surprised by the interactive format. Every single step of the introduction was guided by multiple choice quizzes. This sparked my interest and I started progressing with the lectures. In the first few lectures, I started getting a feeling that some of the content was a bit trivial, different schemas for solving problems were introduced and I pondered whether it was really necessery. Turns out, it was. When the more difficult questions started appearing, my brute force ways were proven ineffecient and sometimes faulty. One important indicator that helped me realise this, was the timing test of the exam problems.
Throughout most lectures, a few exam problems would be included, and for each problem, I was supposed to estimate the time it took me to solve it. Not only did I take too long on a lot of problems, I was also considerably underestimating the time I was taking. That was a humbling experience. Because of this realisation, my confidence in the taught methods increased and I abandoned my other ways of studying for the GMAT.
Other features I really like include: the progress bar, the recommended lecture, and the weakest chapter display. The entire feedback system is greatly appreciated, but it is also something that can be further approved. I personally like to have full overview of my progress so a more detailed statistics report would be great.
I have seen very promising results so far and have gained a new confidence in my study plan. I would certainly recommend you to try it out.
