Zak, our knowledgable assistant helped us to purchase the best boots for our needs. We both had different requirements,and he was patient and informative. We went in with an idea of what we wanted, but after trying on the boots, came away with something different. We highly recommend getting expert advice and trying the boots on before you buy.

The service in this store is usually good but I must say the level of service I received today was exceptional from both Ann and the manager on duty was exceptional, much appreciated on a New Year’s Day when no one should be working!

We bought two pairs of walking shoes for specific conditions & Zak answered all our questions perfectly.

This was our first time using this store even though we are fairly local. We were looking for a pair of size 11 Bhutan walking boots so phoned. Zak answered within 2 rings with a happy polite helpful tone, very quickly found a pair and immediately offered to put them by in my name for collection that day. When we reached the store, another helpful man behind the till went to fetch them & was very chatty & friendly. They fitted perfectly and he kindly took them to the till as we wanted to look around. Trina found us looking at two different camping stoves and explained the difference between both. She left us to decide and when we reached the till the staff were so friendly. Smiles all round this team excelled on customer service and really do need a well done. This shop will be on our radar going forward from now on. People buy from people and the experience & treatment we received was exceptional. If you are reading this needing outdoor clothes boots or resources please do give this store a try.

Fantastic service from Ann in the Newbury store. We needed high quality walking boots and a new rucksack. Ann's patience over the 90 mins we were there was amazing as was her knowledge and guidance. Ended up with a pair of Scarva leather boots and a vango sherpa rucksack. Great prices too.

It’s great that you can ring up the local store. I rang up to check stock of some boots that were on sale. Both ann and trina were extremely helpful and put the last pair of the size I wanted aside till I could come to collect.

Tria your shop assistant was very helpful and we got s bargain to boot.

I came in to buy some new hiking boots, was served by Jack, who was in training. Surprisingly, he had a lot of knowledge for a trainee. Gave a lot of practical advice and helped me to make a great choice. Really happy with my purchase.

I visited the Newbury Berkshire shop and experienced excellent customer service from Michael. He was attentive, listened carefully to my needs and helped locate the right product for me. Michael even made sure I got a discount for being a member of the National Trust. A very positive experience as a result of Michael and his positive approach.

All staff were really friendly and helpful. Jack served us and was very knowledgeable especially as he was still training. He is a credit to the Company.

I was impressed with the helpful way products were described by Kieran and he went above and beyond to show us the footwear resulting in a very satisfactory purchase.

If I was to rate this higher I would personally make it a 20/5 experience! First I walked in and was impressed with how hard working boy that goes by the name of fin he dropped what he was doing to greet me at the front door with a smile, I proceed to ask him where something is and before I even finish my sentence he knows exactly what I’m on about I’m astounded with the way he treats customers and how he makes me feel. Thanks

I went in for a replacement for my Rab down jacket which was 3 years old. I asked a couple of the Blacks team for their advice on a replacement jacket. They mentioned that Rab do a wash and restore and as my jacket was in good condition it would be a good idea to do that. No hard sell just good old fashioned helpful staff. I did end up buying a jacket as a result of their great help.
Great team in this store and I highly recommend you visit the store.
