Bj‘S makes promises it doesn’t keep…not a trustworthy company
I have no problem with the store itself. You have to be careful however because they don’t always have the best price.
My problem is that they sent me a promotion to apply for their card. They promised a 50 cent a gallon discount for a three month period if I kept my application and approval within a certain time frame. I followed their directions and was approved for the card. The promised discount has not materialized. I have been corresponding and talking with them for over 6 weeks now and all I get is typical customer service stupid answers. These people are not to be trusted.
I’m just going to put the card in a drawer.
Bad management
I was in the store on portsmouth blvd in Chesapeake. I went in to buy some deer park water I noticed the cost was $6.79. I told the manager Walt that sams club had this item for $6.48. He shrugged and said are you going there for $.30. I said yes so he just walked away as if he didn't care. I said I see how much you care about it. He was like oh well. I guess he thought about it and walked back past me and said. Oh I thought you were talking about our brand it all taste the same. I didn't say anything but I will say your manager needs more training. I work with the public everyday and this isn't the way you treat your customers. I see why bj's membership is low. You all need to d more training your people.

What a scam
What a scam! got a $120 membership because the website says "2 FREE same-day deliveries
on orders $50+ ($30 value)" what it hides is the fact you get 2 delivery's per YEAR. I called and requested a refund on the membership, i was going to switch to the lower tier and do the delivery option for 100 but, i was told they could not refund it to my card because the computer said it can not refund to a bad card number but yet they charged it for the membership and 2 food orders. Then i was told it will take 6 weeks to get my refund by check!

I called my bank, they know bj's does this and refunded my money in 4 days !
WARNING BJ's wont refund it at all according the Redit! . you have to call your bank and tell them what Bj's did and your bank will refund it and change bj's. Guess im sticking with Costco!
BJ's is dying
Well, first off they have a terrible website, not user friendly, and just a lot of inaccurate information. I looked for a coupon they advertised for Starbucks coffee K cups French Roast with $8.00 off. I couldn't find it on their site, not sure it exists. After seeing their regular price of $42.00 I figured it was over priced anyway, even with $8.00 off it was still not a deal, as with most of their sale items. I think they try to attract a certain audience with their coupons, as some people get excited with a little savings, I know I do! The products in BJ's are so overpriced and not good quality, the discount just brings it in line with other sellers. My membership runs out in a few months, which I will not be renewing, I use Sam's Club which is fine, I only tried BJ's as it was a little closer to me and they gave me a discount for membership. I do not think they will be around for much longer and I will not miss them.
Long lines and little help
Long lines and little help. Gas pumps are always dirty and often broken or out of service. Roof leaks in the rain. Seems like they are collecting as much money as they can without investing maintenance.
Frustration to save
If you only go to BJ’s to basically shop then I agree with reviews saying: it’s clean, well organized, and has nice staff. However, if you want to want save money by taking advantage of coupons and special deals and use the app for convenience and efficiency, you will be disappointed and frustrated. The app is lacking in speed and proper usability. Scanning a product barcode in store to coupon check gives less than a 50/50 chance of working. Multiple employees apologize for poor WiFi service. Employee training and staffing at the registers needs improvement since clipped coupons often don’t work, and you must wait for the 1 employee who’s managing 9 registers. And finally, taking advantage of fuel rewards may be impossible on the same trip due to a slow process from product purchase to redeeming the fuel reward (taking >30 minutes.) it doesn’t take 30min to load the vehicle and be ready to pump gas.
Pickup time frame sucks
Very disappointed with BJS pickup order services. Most stores give 3 to 5 days for pickup because crap happens in people's lives. BJS just gives 24 hours which is inconsiderate to their customers.
I was to pickup my order yesterday after work but a storm came through and today July 4th unfortunately I can't pick it up but tomorrow I can. There's no way to extend the pickup time for my order. This is something BJS needs to address and work on.

i told my wife that was a member that she could use my debit card for a 14.99 delivery fee on doordash for an order of 270 dollars that was supposed to be charged to her ebt they charged my account the whole amount we called to complain to bjs customer support and it was so exhausting talking to them I just gave up just to be charged a second time for the same order they took nearly 600 dollars from me and acted like it was no big deal I would get my money back in 7 to 10 business days I told them my daughter would be going without because they took everything I had and they did absolutely nothing to make the situation right so now I have to deal with the consequences of there actions worst company I have ever heard of and I am glad in knowing this early on before I continue supporting this horrible company
Bj's Wholesale Club Brand Wellsley Farm Colombian Supremo mediun-dark roast whole bean coffee
This is a review of the Wellsley Farms single origin Colombian Supremo whole bean coffee medium dark roast. This coffee is only available at Bj's wholesale club. At the time of testing I purchased this 40 ounce bag of coffee for $14.99 or 38 cents/ounce. The packaging was first rate with a re-sealable mylar/foil bag with the standard one way de-gassing valve. The bag claimed to contain 100% Arabica, Colombian Supremo beans roasted to a medium-dark. The bag also had a basic set of brewing and storage instructions. No other Information about the coffee inside the bag was given. Upon opening the bag I found coffee beans that appeared to be of high quality with no defects. The beans were slightly oily and in my opinion to a perfect medium dark. The beans had a very pleasant semi sweet fragrance.
Upon brewing this coffee I started with my normal 66 grams of coffee with 1.2 liters of filtered water. I tried different grind levels of my normal medium to one click finer and two clicks coarser. my best results came at about 760 microns which on a Fellow Opus grinder is setting 6.5. The result was coffee that had a pleasant roasted nut/cocoa aroma while brewing and a brew that had typical Colombian flavors in my opinion. This coffee had almost nonexistent acidity, smooth fairly balanced coffee flavor with a decent mouth feel and a lingering burnt dark cocoa powder aftertaste. I will say comparing this Colombian coffee with my go-to Eight O'Clock Colombian Peaks medium roast, the Wellsley coffee is a bolder brew not as balanced with a slightly bitter finish. The SCA which is the governing body for coffee states that a cupping score of 80 and higher is a specialty grade of coffee. Using their scoring system I would rate the coffee at 86. This coffee rating is only my opinion.
A lot of people will like the flavor of this coffee...I did but would have preferred a slightly lighter roast. Roasting the coffee that dark takes away a lot of the subtle nuances and flavors of single origin coffee beans. This coffee is recommended for people who enjoy darker roasted bolder coffees, and at 38 cents/ounce is an excellent value.
Waste of time IMO
Company as a whole seems like a complete waste of time to deal with just seeing how they treat their staff on some of these reviews, plus my family's own shopping experiences. My wife and daughter went to get a new tablet for my daughter at the Concord, NC location. AFTER they go through the process of purchasing the device, they are told it is not in stock at that location, but they could go about 45 mins away to the Pineville location, and purchase it there. After getting a refund, my wife makes the trip, only to be charged $100+ more for the same device. When I called the location to speak about it, the answering party dismissed my statements, simply saying they DO NOT HAVE THE SAME PRICES AT EACH LOCATION AND DO NOT PRICE MATCH OTHER LOCATIONS OR ONLINE ITEMS. No offer of remedy, no sympathy of situation, just "your wife should have checked the price. Well, my membership is cancelled then, I will not PAY to shop at a place that has no care for their customers at all. Definitely encourage others to do the same if you are getting similar treatment, as the only way these places change is if their wallets get hit.

My favorite club no kidding much better than Costco or Sam's with top BJs master card I paid $3.20 gal every where else is $3.69 just tap the CC card . Got my 85 Samsung Qled on sale for $900 4yr warranty marked down from $1600 got 5% back on CC plus 40 gallons free gas and filled my work van plus 4 5gal containers that's $140 in free gas the BJs credit card is through Capitol 1 and it's on same account page as my other Capitol 1 cards so super easy to use .I helps that club is 2 miles away. Costco is least favorite have had issues getting rebates and a warranty issue. Sams is just too inconsistent brands stock vary too much.BJs is go to club would gave it 5 stars but lacking name brands I mean you don't have Kraft mayo?

Superb Service
I went to BJ's today and they had received the best Custermer service in along while fro a girl named Judy. She was very helpful making sure I was able to use my rewards that were not showing upon her computer to purchase a TV. She truly went above and beyond calling Custermer service for BJ's and working to ensure I was able to access my rewards. She was very professional and indeed she was able to get my rewards to populate on her screen after many attempts. She never lost her composure and I was to use my rewards and I walked away with my TV. Previously I worked with her and she again was so helpful writing down the information I needed to know when to check back on purchasing this TV. I always say it is the people that make a company great and she outdid herself. Cheryl Patton

I used to love BJs but now I don’t know what is going on but I have been trying to place an order for over a week. Member card not showing up as renewed. No one can correct the problem. Was on the phone for over 20 minutes and was told nothing can be done before Monday. Just don’t think it’s worth it any more.

Buyer BEWARE! If you buy something at BJs are you getting a good deal ? How in the world can BJs justify charging 42% more for the same product sold at their Millsboro Delaware Store than they do at their Canton MD store near Baltimore. Do they think we are so stupid that we would not notice? $11.99 in Canton MD, $16.99 in Millsboro DE. Cant justify by transportation difference. This is gouging low income people.

Was o.k. when they imported workers from all over the country for the grand opening. Yes, it was a small store with a relatively small selection of product, but the enthusiasm of employees was contagious. But now, zombies from "Night of the Living Dead" move faster than the employees of this miserable location.
Positives: plenty of parking, store is empty on weekends. They had some really good deals when they first opened.
Negatives: checkout lines are long and painfully slow (one human checkout lane open, self check outs don't work because everyone is "waiting for assistance"... that never arrives. Then customers move over to the long human checkout line. There is no assistance. Not one single employee there to assist, so none of the self checkouts were working. There was an employee that stood there for 15-20 minutes, observing that none of the self checkouts were working, and frantically radioed numerous times that that assistance was needed in self check out. Why he couldn't help anybody in the checkout lanes himself is beyond me. Maybe they have too many managers.
Then there are coupons. I tried. I'm not interested in using coupons.
I'm not sure why this store even exists. Smaller selection than Costco or Sam's. Prices the same or higher than Costco or Sam's. Worst of all, when you're done shopping and just want to check out and leave... they won't let you, you have to wait and wait and wait.
I'm going to end my current $20 membership and stop future renewals. BJ's membership is a bargain compared to other warehouse stores and the store is closer to my house. But, the lack of selection, painfully slow disorganized checkout process and having to clip coupons make ending my membership a very easy decision.
