I booked an appointment with Bicycle. (Andy Fenn) due to the plentiful positive reviews making the decision for me. I was a bit of a sceptic regarding the "power" of a bike fit but I left with my tail between my legs and also a well fitted bike! Andy was very knowledgable and patient with my thousands of questions. My 3.5 hours flew by (for me and hopefully Andy too). I can safely say that I left with a far more comfortable bike and great advice on possible further upgrades which seem to be plentiful in this great value hobby!

Popped in yesterday to pick up some G8 insoles for my Lake shoes. Was met with a warm welcome and lovely coffee. Dan took me through the measurement of my feet and suggested two different arch heights as my feet, like most people are slightly different.
Fantastic service, will be back again and highly recommended.

I had a bike fit with Andy and it was absolutely excellent. He was really informed and helpful, patiently answering all my questions and explaining his thought process.

As a result I’ve got great insights into my position plus all sorts of information that will inform and de-risk future purchasing decisions. I’ve only implemented some of Andy’s recommendations just because a few of them involve replacing bigger parts, but even the adjustments he made to my shoes have already made a massive difference to my comfort and efficiency on the bike.

The other thing I thought was really nice is that there was absolutely zero snobbery - I felt as valued as any customer even though I ride a modest steel bike not an expensive carbon one.

Coffee not the best but otherwise a thoroughly positive experience! Wish I’d invested years ago - highly recommend.

I recently had a bike fit done at Bicycle Richmond, and I could not be happier with the experience. Andy was absolutely fantastic, professional, knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about getting the perfect fit.

He took the time to explain every step of the process, from assessing my current setup to making precise adjustments that improved both comfort and performance. What really stood out was how thorough he was, as he not only optimised the fit for my main bike but also guided me on how to replicate the setup on my other road bike.

The difference after the fit was immediately noticeable, with smoother pedalling, better posture and no more discomfort on longer rides. Andy’s expertise and friendly approach made the whole session enjoyable and incredibly worthwhile.

Visited bicycle for my first bike fit in 17 years, and can thoroughly recommend this place. The team are friendly and welcoming, and Denver took his time, listened to and worked with me throughout and made the whole session interesting, as well as being extremely thorough at every stage of the process.
Having struggled with sciatica over the past year, the end result was a position that felt noticeably more stable and efficient than my previous setup, looking forward to putting it into effect over the coming months.

I went to see James for a bike fit earlier on this year suffering from long term issues and severe pain when riding that had kept me off the bike for a significant amount of winter.
The whole process was great, I arrived slightly late, but everyone at the store was super nice about it, and James got to me straight away. The whole process was super informative, James made sure that I understood exactly why each change was being made and made sure to get feedback on everything that we tried.
I left with my bike set up as best as possible to my optimal position, with a small list of things to change for it to be perfect. It's been most of a year now, and I've made all of the changes, even changed to a different frame size and I have had absolutely 0 issues with discomfort. The issues that plagued me no matter what I changed are a non issue, and to top it all off, I instantly felt like I had more power riding home from the shop.

I've worked in the cycling industry for well over a decade and was always so confident that I could do my own fit, but, even half an hour in Bicycle Richmond was more productive than all of the tinkering that I had done.

Having put up with ill fitting Cycling Shoes for Gravel Riding for a long time It was about time I purchased a pair of new MTB/Gravel Shoes.

I was a little early on day - warmly welcomed and offered a Coffee while I waited.

George provided a great service explaining all aspects throughout the appointment. Given a few foot / ankle injuries being able to have a shoe (went with the Lake MX333 )that has all the necessary arch support and wedging has made night and day difference to my foot comfort while gravel riding.

A highly recommended experience - next up for the future may well be a bike fit.

Had great bike fit experience at Bicycle. with Dan Coombes. He showed good care and expertise in every aspect of the bike fit process - from the initial physical assessment, though dealing in my optimal position on the rig to setting up my bike to the bike fit data.
Before doing the fit I experienced saddle pain, right hand numbness, neck and shoulders fatigue and was not able to ride on the hoods without stretching too much.
Having ridden for a month after the bike fit, all issues I had in the past were gone and I have more confidence going out with the bike on even longer and tougher rides.
At no point in the bike fit, I felt pressured to make a purchase of specific components. In contrary, Dan discussed alternative way to get to the optimal position and made the best effort to make a good use of what was on the bike already.
The only thing I regret about the bike fit is not doing it much sooner. Highly recommend bike fitting with Dan at Bicycle. Thank you.

As an older rider who has wide feet I have always found shoe purchase problematic, any type of shoe cycling or everyday shoes, the search for comfort has been difficult across all types.
At Bicycle Claire asked if I had problems with my bunions, not the worst ones I've seen, to which I said "No". They just tend to stretch shoes or cause points of wear. If no width options are offered then a bigger size has been purchased (itself causing various problems not least toes clawing in shoe). I had watched many of James fitting and advising on shoes, great help, and decided that Lake shoes could be a possibility. I had discarded many others as their "wide" fit wasn't, in my opinion, "wide" at all. I carried out the home measurement guide from Lake and got a rough idea as to size and model needed. However, I didn't really trust my method to get the correct shoe and didn't want to spend a lot of money on a shoe that wasn't a good fit.
So I got in touch with Bicycle and was dealt with by Claire, thanks for the coffee and allowing me to be seen before my appointment time, who gave me a a superb service and experience. She spent far more time fitting my to the correct shoe and foot beds than I had expected, every detail was looked at, taken into account and adjustments made. She did try different shoes that initially seemed more comfortable but only because they were too big and so felt like carpet slippers and would have been a poor fit when on the bike. These shoes were a more expensive model but not recommended by her. Refreshing!
We opted for the CX239, with Superfeet footbeds with added shims, which felt fantastic. I now know why I was suffering from various foot pains and looked forward to my first ride.
Several weeks and many rides on I know I made the correct choices from the very start. No more foot pain, wonderful.
I would recommend Bicycle for shoe fit to anyone with foot problems. To get to Bicycle means a multi train change journey for me and I wouldn't hesitate to do this again.

I had a fantastic bike fit session with Dan. He took great care and attention to assess my mobility and previous bike setup, using his experience to tweak the position and relieve the discomfort in my back. It appears to come in a package with better power output/efficiency, so a win-win situation.

Overall, it was a great experience and I highly recommend it. The coffee was also great! 😉

An excellent fitting session with Claire which has fixed many of the issues with my riding position. Cranks have been shortened, handlebar width reduced, saddle replaced, saddle height increased and stance increased. I also bought a new pair of shoes where the fitting is now spot on. Well done Claire!

I recently had a bike fit with Claire Buttivant at Bicycle to address a long-standing issue that was preventing me from taking part in longer endurance events: a recurring abscess caused by saddle pressure. My main objective was to reduce pressure in that area to prevent further flare-ups and allow me to ride comfortably over extended distances. Claire approached the challenge with exceptional care and professionalism, taking the time to understand the problem in detail and tailoring the fit to meet my specific needs.

Despite the appointment running over time, Claire made sure all necessary adjustments were completed before I left — a testament to her commitment to getting everything right. The range of components available in-store was genuinely impressive, allowing for immediate changes without delay or compromise.

As part of the fit, I was also measured and fitted for new Lake cycling shoes and insoles. The difference in comfort and support has been noticeable, and I’m very happy with the outcome.

The aftercare was equally excellent. When I suspected a noise from the new components, Claire promptly arranged for a workshop check. It turned out the issue was unrelated to the fit — worn bearings in my front wheel — but Wilf, the mechanic, diagnosed and resolved it efficiently. His expertise and friendly approach were much appreciated.

My recent bike fit was excellent. It was very personalised and based on a physical assessment and an understanding of my very modest goals. Andy was incredibly patient in trying out various adjustments and improvements with the result that I left with a set up that would work for me. The session exceeded my expectations and my ride has definitely become more comfortable.

Getting a bike fit before buying a new bike. A thorough and enjoyable experience which assessed my existing fit ( good) suggested some minor tweaks and experimented a little to arrive at a sensible build for my n+1. All the data was supplied afterwards so I can transfer to my existing bikes as well as the new one.
Overall an enjoyable dialogue, professionally conducted with an obviously knowledgeable and experienced fitter. Thoroughly recommended.

First bike fit I have had and it was a great experience with Claire Buttivant from bicycle.
I was met by George who offered me a great cup of coffee whilst I interrogated him about his previous career as a pro triathlete.

After boring George, Claire took me down and interrogated me, finding out everything about me, my riding experience and goals. The physical examination was really useful to understand imbalances and potential causes of discomfort I've had.

I then jumped on the rig and we started the process of making adjustments before eventually dialling things in.

The final tweaks made and the difference was so noticeable! I definitely felt much more comfortable and happy putting power through the bike.
