The gym is accessible for wheelchair users
As a wheelchair user I have been very impressed with how I can navigate my wheelchair around the gym equipment and found machines I can transfer to. The fitness suite is perfect as the equipment is located on a level that I can reach. However, I am disappointed by the fact that there are no electronic doors so it is very tiring on the wrist having to push through so many doors to get to where I need to. In addition, the lift should have a mirror on the back wall to help wheelchair users see where they are backing out. The Healthwise team are brilliant and very personable.

Changing rooms are filthy
The facilities are really great and it's the only available swimming pool in the area, as well as being affordable, but the women changing room at the pool is always really dirty; there is rubbish everywhere, stagnant smelly water because the drains are blocked and the bathrooms are indescribable.

Excellent Customer Service Support
I called Waterfront Better at about 9am on Monday 29th July when l received email that my aqua aerobics session in the evening has been cancelled. l spoke to Shirley who was very pleasant on the phone and took great care to find out the issues. l was worried that it was cancelled because of my direct debit, she checked that too and assured me that is not the case and that the session will go ahead in the evening. l really appreciated all her effort to resolve my issues and not just telling me wrong info. she took her time to find out, put me on hold to find out what was going on and because of that l was able to do my aqua that Monday while a lot of people got wrong information. This is what a dedicated customer assistant does and l really appreciated her without even knowing who l was, she went extra mile. Thank you so much Shirley.

Staff member did not tell me to book or what time i can go in with the membersgip
When i first came into to do my membership for the gym that i could do it anytime anyday but a kind lady told me that i could do a juniour and she says that with this card is much cheaper than student age 16 which i could come in any time and day. Then after that day i went to gym in the morning and a different staff would not let me in and my card wont scan. The staff say i cannot come in because i have a junour gym card and i was so confused. And then she told me i have a limit time 4 to 6pm i was so angry.
After the next day i came inat 4pm to go gym but a staff member say i cant go in because i need to book and i was so confused and angry. 😡😡

I did not have a pleasant experience as…
I did not have a pleasant experience as a new member. I requested the receptionist for a tour, but she gave me directions and asked me to go around by myself. Secondly, on my first day, I struggled to scan my QR code at entry, only for another receptionist to act like I was a bother. When I called for help, he seemed frustrated and quickly grabbed my phone to scan instead of gently and respectfully explaining how it worked. As a new member, I had hoped for a better experience considering we pay so much.

I want to say a MASSIVE thanks to Amy who rescued my bag with my purse and phone in. She was making every effort to contact me when I stupidly left my bag in the changing room. I ran back to the leisure center from the carpark and thankfully she had secured my property. Thankyou Amy, you're a star!

Waterfront leisure centre update regarding my review ,about my complaint on 9th May .No manager has contacted me ,and ,the equipment is still not serviced .That says it all ,no one cares ,especially about customers

We appreciate your feedback and would like to apologize for the delay in addressing your concerns. Your correspondence was directed to the General Manager, who has been on annual leave. Our Assistant Manager, Franqui, is currently conducting a comprehensive review of the bikes and other fitness equipment based on your feedback. Franqui will contact you no later than tomorrow (Friday) afternoon to discuss the matter further.
Please be assured that all our fitness equipment undergoes regular servicing. However, due to the high usage, occasional breakdowns are inevitable. Repairing fitness equipment is not an immediate process. Once an item is reported as out of order, it is logged with our specialist contractor, who typically responds within 48 hours. While some issues are resolved during the initial visit, in other cases, parts need to be ordered, which can prolong the repair process. We always strive to repair equipment as promptly as possible.
Waterfront Leisure Centre houses over 120 fitness stations, and our fitness instructors are available to recommend alternative exercises if a particular piece of equipment is out of order.
Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to resolving this matter promptly.

Excellent tutor teaching me the proper way to use machines and weights and correct ways to stretch and cool down and take my time no rush to reach any level.

if i had i choice i would had put this as 0 star
The workers are so rude . Teachers are so useless and unprofessional .Wasted half the class by arguing with someone. The manager is the most disrespectful and picks on certain people to be rude to. The worst place to ever go . 100 PERCENT DO NOT RECOMMEND

Had trouble with the app to start, had to be let through barriers and because of that my app shows I didn’t attend on the 19th when actually I did. My first health wise ( Aquatics for health) was good but absolutely freezing so made it uncomfortable but last weeks water temperature much better. Looking forward to this week. Gym going okay but I do prefer the water activity. Staff are very friendly and helpful

Lack of politeness
The staff is useless and do not respond well. Also, some of the costumers are negative but the staff doesn’t care about that.

Not a good experience!
When I arrived for my one hour gym induction, I waited in the seated area as instructed. It took the gym instructor nearly 30 minutes to find me even though there was myself and one other person where he should have been looking. Had I known that the person walking through the area every so often was looking for me, I would have spoken up. The 30 minute gym induction that I was given was very lacklustre and a great effort for the instructor to deliver. There was a lot of pointing at machines followed by 'you can go on that or on that'. When I asked a question about a certain machine, he said that he didn't know much about it so couldn't answer my query. I also asked for a personalised written workout plan as I have specific goals but was informed that the gym no longer offers them. I found this strange as there is a nook in the gym which houses said written personalised plans for other gym users. All in all, not a good experience which has left me confused as to what to do to achieve my goals!

I am very sorry to hear that your Induction was cut short due to the staff member not knowing that you were waiting. I am also very sorry to hear that the Fitness Instructor was not knowledgeable about the equipment in the Gymnasium. I will pass on this feedback for the immediate attention of the centre manager so further staff training can be given if required. In regards to the personalised fitness plan, we no longer offer these. The Fitness Plans you see in the Gym are the old plans for existing members, when this was a criteria of the membership type but this benefit was removed from our memberships a while ago.
Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused during this time.
