Incredibly incompetent company.

Incredibly incompetent company.
My employer uses BDO as a contractor, and from the moment they are involved, I know it will be long, hard, wrong, and sometimes illegal.
They do not respect their customers's time, do not provide visibility, communicate badly, and charge extras for the additional work they create through poor service.
At the beginning I thought it is one employee's problem, but apparently it is really the company-wide policy.

To be avoided at all costs.

Dreadful service from start to finish…

Dreadful service from start to finish for my father's probate. Repeated lack of response to emails led to huge delays. Then BDO increased their fees enormously midway through the probate process and refused to back down. BDO quote: 'we know our service is poor but if you won't pay the huge fee increase you can find another accountant '.

6 months, crazy fees for 0 result

Utterly appalling! How can you 'work' for 6 months, charging extortionate fees, only to come out with the same result everyone knew the day they started? Please, how do you set up an administration company as it feels like these guys are stealing a living. Money they take from the pot is money customers who have had their lives ruined will never get back. Immoral, extortionate and a shambles. AVOID... Yes I am an angry Football Index user

Just another BOGUS company!

This company informed me that I had a large refund due back to me for my having been overcharged by a different company. I responded back to them 5 months ago and AGAIN 2 months ago! I STILL haven’t had any communication back!
I’m guessing that maybe THEY kept my $400???
Thanx a lot for absolutely nothing!

Incorrect accounts signed off and no interest in correcting their mistakes!

So apparently BDO can sign off accounts that are incorrect.
When the errors are brought to their attention they can excuse this because their client provided false information.
But they don't have to prove that they have been misled or correct the accounts that they signed off and use "Client Confidentiality" to hide behind.

To cap it all off their regulatory authority aren't concerned either.

In summary an independent accountants who are not interested in ensuring the work they do is accurate and when it is evidenced to them they have made a serious error they aren't bothered.

BDO P11d Software 2020/21

I have used BDOs P11d software for many years without complaint. This year, 2020/21, BDO released the software with a bug that prevented hybrid car benefit changes from being recorded. The support was hopeless. Several emails and telephone calls eventually led to someone contacting me several weeks later who took me through the submission process and identified the issue that I had already explained in email and telephone calls. It is now December and the bug to my knowledge has not yet been fixed. A partner at the firm has become involved and by way of compensation I have been offered 25% off next years software which I feel is derisory. Why on earth would a firm such as BDO try to aggravate a situation by offering such a derisory offer is beyond me. I am so incensed that I have posted this review. I would not recommend their software now that I have experienced the extremely poor support they provide and the penny pinching lengths that they are prepared to go to in order to resolve a bona fide customer complaint. Lengths that are more in keeping with a market trader than a so called professional firm.

Waste of taxpayers money

The auditors bdo failed to investigate, as promised, a value for money review after braintree district council wasted taxpayers money. Bdc put parking restrictions in just before ECC and ringway Jacob's resurfaced skitts hill, after residents had been subject to extremely dangerous traffic conditions for 10 years. Due to mr butland leader and BDC breaking promises and intentions. NEPP also wasted taxpayers money by doing routine lining just before ECC and ringway Jacob's resurfaced skitts hill. ECC also did resurfacing twice because they did not do it right the first time. BDO showed no interest even though they audit the three organisations. They only show an interest if the waste of taxpayers money is many millions of pounds. Matthew White was supposed to investigate as suggested by the National Audit Office. He just regurgitated the same old stuff about they were not interested in a waste of taxpayers money unless it was millions. Not very good auditors especially as there ipswich office promised to look at issues under a value for money review. Promises broken.
14 February 2021 NAO suggested taking my complaint about bdo through their complaints procedure but bdo remain silent. They do not carry out accurate or thorough audits. They do not work to ensure taxpayers get value for money. They are in the pockets of the councils that pay them with our money. They still sign off accounts even though they could be millions of pounds out. NAO and taxpayers alliance should intervene on taxpayers behalf.

Despite alerting BDO regarding bribery and blackmail committed by their clients At the Begbies Traynor Group PLC it has never appeared on their audited accounts or report to the Stock Exchange. The public demand transparency.
