My dad has cancer
My dad has cancer, Bake Me a Wish said it was fraud, and cancelled his cake right before his birthday. I live in Seattle, he is in Michigan. You really see who a company is, in times like these. Way to make his last birthday feel special. It was a German Black Forest Cake (Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte) just like his mom used to bake him as a child. I've seen some stories of poor customer experience in my life, but this one take the topping of the cake. Order # 1131979 😪

Delicious Cake, But Too Small and Delivery Cost Astronomical
The German Chocolate cake is really delicious. Great quality. However, the delivery charges are exorbitant, and there are rarely coupons for free delivery. Additionally, the cake appears smaller than my last order, and for the price, it is literally not as big as a hand. Although the cake is delicious, I think I will have to consider looking into local bakeries because of the cost of delivery and the minuscule size of the cake.

Inaccurate product info and unhelpful customer service
Customer service was not helpful when I called. Apparently themed cakes required longer lead time. They bury this information in the shipping drop down. Yet on the product page, it still has next day delivery messaging.
The product also did not allow Morning Delivery option, like other products, and the customer service agent, Brian O, did not even attempt to figure out a solution, he just said no.
Editing after the Bake Me a Wish response: based on this response....only themed or personalized cakes are made to order, and therefore require longer lead time. The cake I requested was a Hello Kitty cake, as offered on the website, with no personalization. If the response from this vendor is made-to-order...then safe to assume the rest of the cakes are not made to order,
They must be prepared in advance then. Buyer beware!
I don't see why a Hello Kitty cake takes any longer to make than any of the other designs offered.
Based on other reviews, I likely saved myself a lot of disappointment upon arrival anyway!

By the time the cake arrived it must have turned into penicillin.5
The cake was ordered on july 11 2025, but received August 15 2025. By august the cake must have turned into penicillin. Too bad I can not attach a picture of what it looked like. This is the second time i send a cake to the same address and this family must think I hate them. The first cake was so dry Mrs. Betsy almost choked on it. Oh my Lord in heaven. Good this family has a sense of humor. I dont dare send them cakes now!

gourmet cakes
gourmet cakes? you gotta be kidding me. Litterally the size of my hand but the worse part is that it came all jacked up, frosting sticking to saran wrap around cake, cake was disformed, tasted blah. If you can would dig around your area to find a local bakery, this cheap lazy option gets you a cheap lazy cake, your not gonna impress anyone and worse your gonna look like you put no effort into it, just like the cake itself.

The cake was not packed with any dry ice. So, while intact, it was not cold (refrigerated) upon delivery. Since it is cannoli cake it is doubtful that it is safe to eat

Gift packaging different from the order!
The product I ordered with order number #112182669 is not the same as the product box that arrived at the address. I am disappointed that the product I ordered was sent in a different packaging, without the packaging and the 4 snack bowls that came with it. I couldn't recommend this under any circumstances
I'd ordered a Chocolate Mousse Torte Cake for my partner's birthday! Against our better judgement we decided to try ordering a cake to be shipped and chose Bake Me A Wish. But we both love dark chocolate and felt this sounded like something that we might enjoy. To start out it certainly wasn't "pretty" when we opened the box! Shipping was not kind to the visual appearance. We followed the instructions and left it sealed up to thaw. The texture of the torte/cake/mousse was granular and on the dry side. The chocolate flavor was -- to be diplomatic -- unusual and hard to pin down. Or to put it another way what flavor there was was not enjoyable. I guarantee you this was not made with high quality chocolate or any other ingredient! So, I'm not sure what customers bought to warrant such high ratings for this company; but it surely can't have been this cake! What an embarrassing waste of a lot of money and a huge birthday disappointment.
UPDATE:
I did reach out to this company on July 15 and have so far heard NOTHING. They have however spammed me with numerous promotional emails.
