its good for making server

I have been back and forth with these guys attempting a VERY simple installation of a Minecraft FTB Monster build. Coming from someone that has run their own game servers for years, I have just gotten tired of the detail work and wanted to try a managed solution for a change.

Their support staff has been responding very slowly and with extremely textbook answers (despite my repeated attempts and being extremely clear about what was needed). I know with certainty that the step I need them to take should take a total of about 5 minutes, but after hours and hours of live chatting with their support and many back and forth communications via support ticket, I am left with having paid for a service that I still have yet to be able to use.

I have spent about 10x as much time and effort as I would have going about this myself with a fresh Linux VPS box... so much for taking the hard work out of running your own game server :(

These guys are selling vapor ware and the service does not work. It's now been 5 days since I ordered and paid and the server is still not available

After a large argument in which the grand sum of £51 was stolen from me, I decided to take the plunge and setup with Astral again, and boy was it worth it! Best hosts ever despite stealing some of my cash.

UPDATE: This is all sorted, I'd recommend this to anybody :)

I only just purchased a server and already love this hosting company. Its brilliant for our company server.... Astral game servers charge me me £15 for 2GB ram and 48 Players, Other hosting services would cost me £24 for 2GB ram and 48 Players.

This is by far the best hosting company that i have found!!! cheap hosting fast service and lots of help with getting my minecraft server up and running and total lag free! And what's that you say? slow FTP PFFFFTTTTT i get instant ftp upload and download to my server its great! They reply to tickets within 24 hours in my experience along with the instant people on live chat who are extremely helpful and have the answerers you need! i would 100% recommend this company to anyone that looking for server hosting! 5/5 well deserved!!

I've been with Astral Game Servers for over 3 months now and I have to say that they've passed my expectations. The members of their team are very helpful, and any server related problems that I had got solved amazingly fast. I would definitely recommend Astral Game Servers to my friends. It has some space to grow, like the multicraft panel but on the topic of hosting quality, I do believe it's one of the best out there. I haven't experienced problems with the upload speed to the server, or any downtime that affected my schedule/gameplay. 5/5 Great job, Astral Game Servers

A few problems, but they did their best to solve it. Overall good. To get the last star, they should have more powerful servers and less problems.

It took 2 min to config, i needed ftb magical world, and 10 min after i asked they replied
and asked what version. Strongly recomend.

I quite enjoy this service as it gives you a range of things you can do to get your moneys worth!! Its lag free 24/7 and one hell of a stress free server, I used to hate trying to set up my own server because im not very good with that side of computing. But having a different host is amazing, thankyou so much! I will enjoy this for months to come!!

The replies are quick, helpful, meaningful and seem to be answered with care and patience. The multicraft server interface just takes a tiny bit if time to get used to but overall very easy to use especially with filezilla. So far 0 problems and this is the best server hosting sight possible. Great prices too! Overall Perfect.

Astral has done a good job of providing reliable hosting and allowing you to easily customize and edit your server. They support all multiplayer mods, setting up your server to however you'd like it on a whim. Their support staff (only Richard Instone, afaik) is quick to reply and help you with whatever you need.

The Multicraft interface can be a little sluggish some times (at least in my experience), but it's mostly serviceable. Multicraft is really my only complaint: it's user unfriendly, average-to-slow, and there are too many paths/clicks to get to what you want.

I purchased a host for them and they just suck. It really is as simple as that. Their customer support is slow and when they respond they never respond with answers but rather with more questions that they assume you are going to know. Their downtime is ridiculous. They constantly have down time and my server gets rolled back 2-3 times daily. Not only is that annoying on its own but they never take blame for anything yet use your server as a scapegoat for their own issues. Honestly for a good amount of time they were decent but my experience with them has just been a bumpy ride. I have gone the MOST a week without sending them a ticket about an issue but it is just constant bad service. I cannot wait to switch hosts and stop paying these guys the amount I do for this shit I receive.

Astral Game Servers is a great hosting service, with prompt feedback, fast server start-up, and easy to get to control panels, it does many things right, but has some room to grow. Servers are blazing fast, with a great connection. I have players from around the globe connecting to my server, with little to no lag. Every time I have used customer service, I have gotten a prompt reply within the next 24 hours, always with useful information, and always written in a respectful manner. This is a great change from tec support that would sass you or take ages to respond. As they should be, the folks at Astral are also very concerned with client security. When server hiccups occur due to security, in my experience they are very upfront with the issue and work fast and hard to solve it. With a great and easy to navigate website, friendly leadership, and good servers, I would recommend this to anybody.

Now, there are still things they could do to improve their service. When using forge related mods in minecraft, multicraft does not properly show the server usage. It would be great if that could be fixed in some way through custom software, or if they could provide a server resource monitor that is separate from multicraft to let me know how much memory I am using. Also, an IRC for Astral users would be pretty cool.

This is a great service. Its easy to understand, its affordable and reliable.

I would strongly recommend this as a service for anyone looking to set up a minecraft server.

A Note to Management: There are a few things here I would like to suggest.
1.) Video's explaining how to configure your server.
2.) Pre-formed templates for some of the most commonly requested Plug-ins (permissions namely).
3. a more unified system for server management. Its a hassle to have to log in to multiple sites and services.

Overall, this is fantastic, keep up the good work guys and gals.

I really enjoy the hosting and i am 100% happy with it, the only problem is that my minecraft server sometimes crashes (tekkit) when 3 people are in the nether, and when i bought the 256MB ram version i had no clue such would happen, i knew i'd upgrade later but now i am waiting for the end of my month. But overall it's great

Well firstly I thought their deals were good (which they are) and I bought a dedicated server on saturday. After reading that they were not open on weekends I had to wait till monday, which I was fine about as they are entitled to a day off. So monday morning I get an email saying " This is a ticket we have opened to show our progress on your server" I ask them later that day when It may be up, no reply. The next day I ask, no reply all day and I thought it was a joke as my server was not being setup and I was being ignored. So when I finally emailed them saying "I want a refund", surprise surprise, I get a response "Sorry for the delay it will be up in 4-5 hours" I said this is not good enough I have bought a server with someone else who put my server up in mere hours. They denied giving me a refund and finally put the dedicated server up saying, "Here it is, we've also sent you an email to log in to the control panel". I check my emails, NO EMAIL. So now I emailed them asking where is it? When did they send it, No reply. It is now the 3rd day, (technically 5th day) I have a server with no password no panel and no access. P.s Im still waiting for a reply. I am sure their servers will be fine but as for the setup time and the support, its shocking. Going with "Zare" next month.
