Absolute lack of communication with an…

Absolute lack of communication with an item ordered through Debenhams. They could not have been less interested.
See my full review on Google about them about the experience I had but buy your Leather items elsewhere unless you live nearby their actual store because if something goes wrong with delivery you be left to chase it! Took well over 3 weeks for me to get the whole thing resolved - still without my item but did receive a refund from Debenhams.

Shocking customer service and I can see I am not the only one with a similar experience!

Got scammed by retailer charging 45…

Got scammed by retailer charging 45 pounds more for a bag (25 percent) more then the cost of the bag on the website. The bag has scratch on it and shouldn’t have bought it at that ridiculous price. Beware stores love to overcharge on there bags and when got it home it wasn’t as good quality as the store suggested. Recommend choosing better brand given all the negative reviews on here.

Faulty bag

I ordered a leather bag from Secretsales and after 2 use ,the bag snapped. I reached out to Secretsales who confirmed they had to go to the seller.After weeks and weeks, Ashford said they cannot exchange or refund ,that the faulty bag would be sent back to me ,unfixed or exchanged ..no refund nothing.

Clearly it shows the other hand had issues as well but they ignored,overall its a rubbish company that don't care about their customers and only out to reap people off.

Stay Away from them .

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY WITH RETURNS!


I sent back TWO leather coats, to THIS COMPANY! I purchased on Debenhams. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE INTEGRITY BEHIND THE NAME! DEBENHAMS ARE ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING NOW! THEY DO NOT HELP AT ALL!
They both were too big, in the shoulders and baggy in the cervical to lumbar region. I HAD BOUGHT BIGGER THAN I SHOULD HAVE.
I’m physically disabled and hadn’t been able to leave my home, the entire time I had the coats for. Which I can categorically prove. So in these days I have apparently:
’Sent back a coat which they want me to send them a return label for. As it hasn’t got any labels on it (which it never had) it’s been worn and has a strong odour’
HOW RUDE AND DISGRACEFUL!?

WHAT A ROTTEN COMPANY!
CONSIDERING:
I HAD GONE ON TO PURCHASE A BAG FROM THEM! AS I LOVED THE SOFT LEATHER.
The parcel was ‘missing’ for weeks!
I live in an immaculate home
They were left inside the boxes, until I tried them on.
They were miles too big.
I hadn’t left my home, the entire time.
I can prove this!
They do not come with tissue paper either.

BUT…WHY ARE THIS COMPANY LYING?!
Like anyone I guess…..FOR MONEY!
Yet I only wanted to purchase a smaller size. As it looked ridiculous. The shoulders were sticking out way too far and the back was all baggy!

IF YOU'RE FOOLISH ENOUGH TO BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! YOU WERE WARNED!

Very poor customer service

Very poor customer service! Dost they were adamant that I didn’t put my correct address details down and parcel was sent back. I know for a fact I had put the correct address down as if you don’t fill in all the details, it won’t take your order anyway! That is standard! It will always come up as marked red fields! Royal Mail have told me that they have sent the order back yet Ashwood tell me they haven’t received it! Was told it would be sent straight out after receiving parcel, but nothing! Communication with this company is awful, and not helpful at all!! Debenhams are been worse as there is no form of communication either, they just ignore you on messenger! What an absolute sham!! From your response, I did not admit to you on the telephone that I had incorrectly put the incorrect address details down! So that is a lie! You cannot place an order unless you input the full details in as it will come up in unmarked error!! And I certainly didn’t verbally abuse any of your staff on the phone!! Another lie!! All I did was try and explain the situation and ask when will the order be re-delivered!! So please don’t lie to one of your customers that has just spent nearly £300 at your store!! And finally, you have 78% of customers with 1 star reviews!! That speaks for itself!!

What an absolute shit company I have…

Having purchased a bag from Woodlands Garden centre made by ashwood leather I got home and the magnet buckle on the front visible part of the bag had gone! I emailed, phoned, asked the garden centre to email as they still had bags in but absolutely nothing. Phoned today and realised What an absolute shit company it is!!!!! I have never heard such rubbish over a phone in my life
“ we don’t make spares!”
“We don’t take responsibility for our bags “
“Unfortunately we can’t help you”
“Go back to where you bought it from”. I was shocked as it’s ruined the front of the bag
Thank you for nothing !!!!!! £124 .99 and a bag with no fastener !!!! 😢

Ashwood excellent jackets and amazingly quick refund.

I ordered Ashwood leather jackets through Debenhams but they were delivered by Ashwood and my return went to them also. The jackets arrived very quickly, beautifully boxed. My only problem with this company is the sizing which is really small but apart from that they are amazingly good, the jackets are lovely quality and when I needed to do a return I was supplied with a prepaid post office label with free collection from my home. Two days later they received my return and did the refund that day. Very impressed with their service.

Never order from this company

Terrible service and would give no stars if that were possible.

Ordered two bags via Debenhams (who are also terrible and you should never shop with). When the parcel arrived, it had been damaged and taped back together. Inside there was no paperwork, a pair of shoes I didn't order and no sign of the bags I actually ordered. The parcel had clearly been opened and the bags swapped for the shoes by Evri (either accidently or intentionally).
I took pictures before opening the parcel of the taping and word 'damaged' written on it and then pictures after I opened it and found the wrong item, so I have clear evidence that I haven't received what I've paid for.

Complained to Debenhams, who referred the complaint to Ashwood. They called me and told me that they don't even sell shoes so have no idea how it happened. They requested I email them the pictures so they can investigate.

After this, complete radio silence. I have emailed several times and they don't seem to pick up the phone.
After chasing constantly, Debenhams finally said they are refusing my request for a refund as Ashwood have said they don't sell shoes and that they sent the bags, so that's the end of it.

Ashwood seem to be ignoring the Consumer Rights Act, where they are responsible to chase up what happened to my parcel with Evri and claim for this mistake from them.

I will never shop with them ever again. I have raised a dispute with my credit card. I have also reported Ashwood to Trading Standards for their shocking business practice.

Shocking service

Sadly one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had. Ordered a leather coat, had to return three days later as the leather was peeling. After waiting nearly 3 weeks to hear if they had even received the return - getting to speak to an actual human and not an Ai bot was like pulling teeth. They have refused to refund me saying “the coat was worn” and due to this they will not refund. I returned as the item was faulty. But they seem to be ignoring this and any statutory right to a refund. Poor quality product and shocking customer service.

SHOCKING SERVICE

Ordered a Christmas present for granddaughter on 13th November 2025, order number DUX046520559, their T's & C's state "order is accepted once payment is received (I made payment the same day) a confirmation email will be sent to confirm that we have received your payment and the item will be despatched from our goods out warehouse based in the UK on the same day as payment is received" still no sign of item Vivienna' Real Leather Purse in Rose. Received other item on order from different supplier within a couple of days. Sent e-mails to both Debenhams and Ashwood Leather with no joy. WHERE IS MY ITEM.Checked Evri as they were returning item on 19th Novembwr 2025. No attempt at all to deliver.

I love, love, love this coat.Just received my Ashwood leather…

Just received my Ashwood leather Lynette sheepskin duffle coat in size 8. I only ordered it the day before yesterday, I was kept updated re delivery and it arrived exactly on time. Beautifully packaged, when opened the box the coat was protected in a dust jacket and there was a wonderful smell of leather. I was nervous trying it on as I haven't been able to find a coat that fits me properly in years. Put it on and it fitted perfectly as I was advised by a gentleman when I telephoned Ashwood.
I love, love, love this coat, love the colour, love the style, love the fit, the quality is exceptional. Had wonderful customer service, the delivery experience was excellent and
the price too but to be honest I would have paid full price for this beautiful coat.

Standard of products poor

I purchased a handbag via Debenhams for my wife. After just over 6 months the navy colour was wearing off, leaving light patches. I contacted Ashwood direct and did not even get a reply.
Debenhams also contacted them and were told after 6 months they would do nothing.
The quality of the leather used was definitely not as stated.

Abysmal customer service: scam company?

I've just had a shocking experience of abysmal customer service and wanted to share with others so they can make better informed purchase decisions with this company.

I had found 2 bags on their website that looked identical and were described identically, except for the price which was £40 difference.

I wanted to understand why we would spend another £40 for a bag that looked exactly the same.

I called and asked the customer service person to help with this and he said 'it's because it's different leather'. I queried this and asked where it stated this on the website page. He ignored my question and reassured me the bags were different. He explained that the cheaper bag was made of cowhide and said the more expensive one was made of goat leather. I asked where it stated this on the website and he kept overriding what I was asking and telling me he knew this.

I said that my trust was not so high because of the discrepancy in price with no apparent reason and that because of this I would really appreciate something in writing to confirm. I suggested perhaps that the company could either update the website description or sending me something in writing.

He dismissed this suggestion and said I should just buy the bag. I explained that if it wasn't as he'd mentioned (with nothing in writing to back this up) that we'd have to pay £5 to return the item so that his suggestion wouldn't work.

He then said maybe I should buy from a different company (!!) which shocked me. Rather than simply being honest and putting his verbal claims in writing, he does not want to do business with a customer simply because they are querying the authenticity of a product when no written information is provided, only a weak, verbal claim.

I said that this reply had made me lose all trust in Ashwood Leather and that all I had wanted was to obtain reassurances in writing as to why I should be paying £40 more for a bag that looked and was described identically to the cheaper bag.

The conversation then took a horrible direction when he told me he thought I had rung up wanting a fight which was never the case. I simply called because I wanted to buy my husband a nice sling bag and didn't know whether I should justify spending £109 to get a black one or £75 to get the brown one. I just didn't understand why they were priced so differently and his response and tone did not make me trust the reply. I felt as if he was fobbing me off when I queried the difference.

At all times during the call I was polite and calm and whilst I repeated my request a few times in different ways in an attempt to obtain the written information I had called for, at no time was I rude or disrespectful.

This gentleman needs to understand how to interact with customers in a more welcoming way. If you work in customer services, you are paid to help customers and he clearly did not want to help me. His arrogant, ego-driven attitude (I'm right; you should accept the information I'm telling you) did not assure me that Ashwood Leather is a trustworthy company. I should not have had to plead with him for simple, basic, written information to explain a price difference.

What an eye opener my experience was with this company. I am left feeling they must be scammers because of the sheer reticence of their managerial representative to provide written information to justify such a huge price difference between two bags.
