Fabulous

I have been a business customer of Ancient Wisdom for over 12 years.

The level of service, range of products, pricing structure, loyalty rewards, and constant drive to bring new products to small businesses, has seen me return time and time again.

When things do go wrong, which is inevitable in any business, the customer care team are always fast to respond and work hard to resolve things.

Well done and thank you for years of brilliant service

My most recent experience was very poor!

I had previously been happy with my purchases over the years, so when I ordered again I thought I would receive the same quality as before. Unfortunately this wasn't the case. The medium sized Amethyst tumble stones not only looked like different stones to the photo on the website, but they were advertised as measuring 25-45mm, yet I received stones that measured 40-60mm in size. The Citrine stones also looked like completely different stones to the ones shown on the website. The Carnelian tumble stones were NOT Carnelian, they were banded Agate. This wasn't simply an error in what I was sent, it was a misrepresentation of the type of stone on the Ancient Wisdom website. When I contacted them about this, I was sent an email stating their "apologies for the product not being as advertised" and that they would send me a return label if I wanted to return the stones. It then took more than 2 weeks and numerous phone calls and emails to receive the return label. It took another couple of weeks to receive my refund only after having to send another email to enquire where my money was and never receiving any further communication from them. These stones are still being advertised on the website as being Carnelian and also look completely different to what I received. I will NOT be purchasing again!

I have been a customer of AW for years

I have been a customer of AW for years, recently not so much as my shop sadly closed, however. seeing some of the low star reviews surprised me as I have, over the years, had absolutely first class products and delivery from AW. Staff have always been polite and helpful. They are certainly not 'rip off' prices, which is just downright insulting, they are prices you pay for ethical products that are fairly traded and I personally would not use any other company because of that. If you want poor quality mass produced rubbish then shop elsewhere.

I’m impressed

Past year I’ve been trying to source good quality essential oils to make soap. Not the cheap, diluted or synthetics. Essential oils are expensive if genuine. And expensive to get samples of every scent. I’d used this company about a decade ago for bath bombs and forgot about it. Found an old bottle of EO and googled them. Still in business!. However the reviews made me nervous as this will be the 5th company I’ve tried (most from Amazon I admit) and the reviews for ancient wisdom were hit or total miss. But I ordered just over £200 of oils and hoped for best ……

Received order this morning… a little nervous…

But very VERY pleased.

All the oils smell exactly as they should. Every single one.

Delivered the week I ordered, all items there and packaged extremely well. No drips or leaks.

No idea about the other departments but if you’re looking for essential oils - this is your place.

Customer Service and Overall Experience

I have been an Ancient Wisdom customer for a number of years now and regularly place orders which my clients are always very happy with. During the time that I have been working with AWD I have always found the customer service staff excellent and have handled any queries promptly.
On the latest occasion of contacting AWD it was because of their change over system and I experienced some issues. I had the good fortune to deal with an adviser called Tomas who was extremely helpful and was also very patient with me. Thanks for all the support that AWD provides to customers.

I have been a loyal customer for a few…

I have been a loyal customer for a few years, placing an order each month.
I'm not sure what's happened but the past 4 orders have been awful. I paid for the next day delivery twice but had to wait and chase up my order.
Bali boxes arrived covered in mould. Still waiting for my refund, then items I ordered where not sent, wrong items sent. Very very rude staff.
It's a shame as I have been a customer for so long but I will not be ordering again.

Poor experiences all round.

Ordered twice this year. Didn’t receive 1st order so rang to chase it. Was told something on order was out of stock so a note was added to my order but unfortunately no one contacted me regarding it so I had to chase my order after 2 weeks. Placed another order around a couple of months later and the exact same thing happened again. No contact, no order and had to chase it myself. Funnily enough it was the same item out of stock and the excuse was that they don’t have time to update the stock levels regularly? It had not been back in stock since I ordered it earlier in the year! There’s regular updating and then there’s just not bothering! Very poor experiences all round and I won’t be returning.

Good Company, Good Products

I am a relatively new customer of Ancient Wisdom. I have placed 3 orders now and have been delighted with the products, the speed with which they were despatched, the pricing and the ease of using the website. I can only say good things about this company and will continue to use them in the future.

Rip off prices.

Rip off prices. £3 product ends up £18 at the checkout. Breakdown £3 Product + around 6 Service fee (hidden from total before checkout) + around 6 delivery (when other charge half) = 15 + vat = around £18. So they sell you £3 small 10ml oil or small useless item at around £18/10ml. It's more expensive than even high end perfumes (Armani / Gucci etc). It seems that they can't sell it on retail due to rip off high prices then they started calling it wholesale. It's totally nonsense & time waste.

Pressurised phone call.

Received a call this morning from AW pressuring me to buy the things I've placed in my basket but not checked out. Very very odd thing to do. Can you imagine calling up your customers and doing that!? I cannot.

Products unacceptable

I have received 3 products which were beyond reselling as they were in a bad state material wise. It looked (and smelled) as if they had been stored for a decade in a humid closed up environment.
Not buying again.

Not A Good Review Of my experiences…

Not A Good Review Of my experiences sadly. I was really looking forward to visiting Ancient Wisdom after buying from them online in previous years and wanted to see their full range of crystals in their showroom. Okay I understand I booked a last minute appointment at 3pm until 4pm but the lady that served me was so rude, not polite and i totally felt like I was not welcome as the lady kept reminding me with a rude come on hurry up energy she was finishing at 4pm. The showroom was nice full of beautiful products although very small compared to the size of the building which was disappointing. But what was surprising was nothing had prices on and only 1 of some of the stock was displayed and not set out for wholesale buyers to just come and simply buy stock. I wasn’t sure on how to order what I needed and had to keep checking the website on my phone for prices, I did start asking the lady but she wasn’t too bothered and rude at me asking. I can even remember me trying to lighten the visit and said oh you must love working here with all these beautiful products, she didn’t even reply this was how rude she was. What I was interested in, pendulum sets and tumbles etc weren’t in the showroom either, the lady wasn’t too happy when I asked to see these as it meant she had to get them from the warehouse and both times she came back puffing and panting and out of breath. I left spending only 10% of my budget and just sat in the car park for 5 minutes in total shock of how i was treated and what this place was like. Fortunately I looked in the box before I drove off as only 1 pack of pendulums had been put in the instead of 6 packs, I’ll put this down to human error. The Second Lady I met was actually very friendly and helped me get the correct stock I bought but in all honesty a total waste of my time and now I know what it’s like behind the scenes I won’t be ordering online either as that was just wrong.

Exceptional Quality of Service and Products

Ive only been with Ancient Wisdom for a couple of weeks and I can honestly say that their Customer Service has been second to none.
So far I have experienced fast item dispatch, within an hour or so, and overnight courier services. Communication has been outstanding too. The products on offer have been of good quality and my own customers have been very happy.

Any broken products are replaced or refunded on proof of damage. the products are ethically sourced which i love and the customer service is next to none,
i always highly recommend this company.

Treats loyal customers badly.

I have been a customer of AW for a few years now, I spent 3 years building up their reputation and my stock levels and stayed loyal throughout the terrible fire in their warehouse even when deliveries were bad and quality not at best. My reward was that they recently started to supply another similar business with all the products I order from them. A business with the EXACT same postcode as me. The business next door. Their position is that they are unable/or don,t want to check postcodes. All my other suppliers can do it no problem. Has left bitter feelings. Sadly my position as a good, loyal customer is no longer tenable and I have now passed all of my business to another supplier. don,t think they are bothered anyway.

We greatly appreciate your custom and your on-going support. Our business continues to exist and develop thanks to businesses like your own.

I understand how frustrating it is when you build your business up, find suppliers that provide you with products you feel passionate about and put your heart and soul into stocking and running your shop and then someone comes along and copies your ideas - it is disheartening, especially if it is in such a close proximity.



For a long time we were one of the very few suppliers within our field but as time went on more and more came along copying our business model and in our case, as most were selling online as we are, we all found ourselves just a click away from each other. This forced us to search further and offer more to our customers; customers like yourself.



We’ve always tried to be as fair as possible and as approachable and helpful as we can in terms of providing a variety of stock and managing our customers’ expectations. For these reasons we treat all our customers with respect and help them as much as we can regardless of how much and how often they order from us – we do not see their spending habits as an indication of how we should treat them – everyone gets the same amount of respect and time from us. One of our company values is generosity of spirit and not to be mean with our time, ideas, energy or kindness and we all subscribe to this.



Therefore, I’d like to address the concerns you raised in your letter to us.



We’ve never offered exclusivity on supply and this is for many reasons. The main one would be managing and policing this, as well as trying to be objective in deciding who would get to supply what items and in what area.

This would not be as simple as googling the distance between businesses that register with us and especially with the development of online selling where businesses list their billing address as their home and then tend to ship items all over the country. We supply all sorts of customers: from pop-ups, market stall holders, online sellers through to shops and larger stores.



Some businesses will list their home address as their billing/ delivery address and then take the goods to market stalls or an event or to their shop that we might not even have the address for as they prefer to sort their orders out at home.

Some customers will start off small ordering for home and then they will get business premises and not mention it to us – just order and take the goods to their new shop.

They also change what they sell depending on the demand in their area or in their online store so this is another point we would not be in a position to influence or question as this would be restricting our customers’ freedom to run their business in the way they see fit.



We do not wish to restrict anyone’s potential or creativity in terms of them developing their business and taking it in different directions; neither would we want to do this to yourself – we are not the ones to limit our customers – quite the opposite – we encourage business development and new ideas and we share ours in our weekly newsletters and in the business update emails we send each week as sharing our ideas brings in variety and development into our sector – by ‘our’ I mean yours and ours.

I understand that this approach can have its disadvantages in a way that some sellers will use the ideas of others in their stores and I am afraid this is not something we are able to influence as it is dependent on the individual’s business ethics.



What we can say here and what we can be proud of is that we would not restrict anyone and limit them in their creativity and approach and we would not want this happening to us. I would like to assure you we strive to be supportive and fair to all our customers and I hope you can appreciate our business approach in this matter.

Love em

We have been using ancient wisdom for a short while, in that time we have placed many orders with them. Only Once we have received damaged goods we emailed them with the faults and received a reply almost instantly and the Replacement goods were sent out straight away. There customer services are excellent, they are very polite and professional, the products are fantastic and reasonably priced, I can not fault this company and will continue to use them.
