Terrible Service

Booked a taxi 9 hours in advance and expected them to accept the job since they take your payment upfront. No warning to say that no drivers are available and expect you to cancel the job since they haven’t turned up. Could not get through to anyone to verify if a driver would accept the job.

Shocking.

Booked a cab two weeks ago to the airport for 8am today.

Turns out they don't really take your booking. They just hope a driver is available on their app. In the end we couldn't wait any longer and my daughter drove us. A really awful service.

Today we used Amber for a trip and return. I would just like to say how pleasant and accommodating both drivers were. On time and comfortable driving in very wet conditions. I have had to use them a good few times over the last 18 months and cannot fault them. Thank you for a sometimes difficult job well done.

Appalling, driver assumed that we were from out of town. When asked why he'd taken the long way around he didn't respond, needless to say no tip given and won't use again in a hurry.

Honestly one of the worst taxi services I can't tell you how unorganised and unprofessional they are!!!!!

Simply the worst. Needed a taxi to the infirmary it never came

Useless - let down for an airport run and when I managed to get through the pathetic automated call system the guy didn’t care one bit that my young family is stood outside a hotel waiting for the car that we ‘booked’ 24 hours earlier.
DO NOT USE

The driver was late, despite I gave him (and to the operation on the phone while booking) the correct street address if 77 the avenue, he could not find it and was riding around searching for it. Then I gave him the post code and also mentioned that it is an Abington Vale school. Eventually, after a lot of driving he has dropped me off at a totally wrong Abington Vale school!
As I did not know how the address looked like, I paid and came out of the car. And then I have learned this was not the address I have asked to drive me to.
I was already late for my course, had to order yet another taxi. Had to pay again.
When I did call to the Ambers taxis, they have refused to take responsibility.
This was my first and last ride with them and I would not recommend this company to any one. I wish I did read their reviews before going ahead with my booking

Awful experience with the app. Booking is irrelevant as it operates like Uber as nothing pre allocated so it’s a lottery as to whether your car will turn up or not. Booked at 12pm for a 6pm pick up, did not arrive. Local firm bought out by amber parent company and has resulted in a very poor experience.

Amber taxis Leeds. Booked from Armouries to Station for 3pm. Over Two hours later still no car. Lots of lies though, it's on its way five minutes, put you to top of list. We ended up in an Uber that managed to be there in ten minutes. Cost us as had to buy another train ticket as missed train booked by three hours. Awful company.

Disgusting behaviour from driver, booked cab on line and paid, then driver said I hadn’t paid and threatened to run me over and brick my windows

I have used Amber cars for over 8 years and since they have been taken over they have gone downhill.. I booked a taxi on the app in the early hours to pick me up from the coach station and it just never arrived didn't even call me amd took my money out of my account so I tried to call to book another or find out what's going on as they had taken the last of my money out of my account the taxi driver refused to take me home and was rude as hell even though he could see the payment had already been taken from my account. The person I spoken to on the phone was also rude and unhelpful and somewhat unbothered that I was left stranded in leeds at 2 30 in the morning with no way of getting home after a fault with their app leaving a woman alone in town at that time in the cold it absolutely disgusting I will never use them again and they never even refunded my money. I called to ask when they would be refunding me again the same operator was very rude and seemed unbothered.. still haven't been refunded worst taxi company in leeds this not first time they have been incompetent and useless. I would suggest using any other firm but this one if something would of happened to me that night it would of been on them luckily I was OK and managed to get home in a black and white cab.. my advice avoid these robbing and incompetent so called taxi firm 😤

Terrible since they took over my local taxi firm. Drivers unhappy, App doesn’t work properly the nee payment system through a web link seems good but they have charged me twice with it and will not refund the payment despite promising it would be refunded.

Discusting, greedy and a bigger cpmpany that merged several others keeping the amber name and destroyed taxis in Leeds

Pre-booked a cab for a clinical appointment a day in advance. The person taking the call had problems with the address so reconfirmed next day. Mistakes from my previous call were then rectified. Cab was 10 minutes late so we were late for our appointment and as a result we were 5 minutes late coming out to board the cab that had arrived to take us home. The driver was not happy. He said he had arrived 25 mins prior to our booked return time. Whose fault was that? Both drivers were less than friendly and the return journey was very uncomfortable. Will not use them again.

Do not book this cab firm if your going to the airport, booked for 12.
45 and got a text saying car dispatched 20 minutes later got a text saying due to high demand yor car is running late, rang them and they said it would be another 25 minutes not what you want when you've got a plane to catch.

App well expensive trying charge me £10 2 minutes drive never again will use amber cars road runners from now on much cheaper or speedling

Complely useless.
A greedy company that has swallowed up others and cannot reliably provide an operator, an automatic booking system, a stable phone line, and a guaranteed time if you have a dog.

Absolutely Disgusting service. Paid in advance to be picked up from Leeds festival at midnight. Constantly told by the company that the taxi was ten minutes away. At one point, we were told they hadn’t allocated a driver. Then we were told he was almost there. Never arrived! Sat in a field in the cold for 3 hours waiting for this taxi. In our next call to the company , we were told he had arrived and we were not there so the booking was cancelled. Blatant lies. We never moved from the collection point! This happened to three other groups of people that we spoke to whilst waiting. We later learned that because people were desperate for taxis that evening, amber cars were cancelling their pre booked fares and were picking other people up who were willing to pay over £100 for a short journey. We spoke to several amber cars drivers who refused to take us home through our pre-booking, but we’re quoting up to £150 cash to take us on a ten minute journey!
After 3 hours of waiting and being lied to, we asked around for another number for a different taxi company as we were not from the area and had no 4g signal to book an Uber. we contacted another local taxi firm who had a taxi with us within 5 minutes and charged us a normal price!

Overcharged me with 2 charges. Disputed the charge and am still waiting after 4 months of chasing. All you get is I have passed it onto the refunds department. Hopeless. They do not value customers. As long as they keep getting customers, they don't care.
