This company was booked for an emergency vet run. The location was provided at the time of booking. On arrival, the driver refused to take the fare stating he wasn’t willing to transport an animal. It was an emergency and the poor little cat subsequently died in its owners arms. Not an ounce of humanity shown and we will never know if the cat could have been saved if the driver had taken them. Despicable. They even threatened to have the customer put on the bad list for every taxi company in the area if they made a complaint. Do yourselves a favour and don’t line the pockets of these cruel and wicked people.

Ridiculous service at the Leeds festival. Drivers turning up and cancelling jobs as other festival goers were offering ridiculous sums of money. The office staff were rude when complaining.

Horrible horrible and tacky service.
On getting into my cab was told by driver he will charge an extra £2 because of road works, confused I rang their station.
The dispatcher told him he cannot do that so he threatened to chuck me out, they argued for about 4mins. Then 2mins later Amber call me back to say he was right my fare has changed and it was really 14.50 instead of £11 which I paid two weeks prior.
I would never use them again and I've been using their service for 7years.

useless, been using amber for over 10 years but now they decided to be divs when I'm out and cancel my booking without notice. It's the last time ill use them

This company is TERRIBLE! I don’t use taxis unless I absolutely have to, as mostly in this country, the taxi services are diabolical.

The standard of drivers at Amber Taxis has always been very low. I’ve had the odd stellar driver, but the vast majority are ignorant, rude, unclean, with unclean cars that often smell. The drivers’ knowledge of the roads and locations is utterly pathetic. They couldn’t find a tree in a forrest!

Today I booked a taxi to take my mum to a early hospital appointment. The text message said the taxi had arrived, but it was no where to be seen. I suspected as usual the driver had gone to the wrong address, where the tower blocks are. The drivers can’t read or operate a sat nav and we have to call the driver, pretty much every time to guide them to the correct street.

When he finally got to the correct street, he didn’t apologise, he just thought it was amusing and affirmed he had gone to the correct address, which he absolutely had not and he knew he hadn’t, but saving face was more important to him than apologising for getting it wrong. I informed him he went to the wrong address, he aggressively snapped at me, but I let it slide, but told him I’m just telling you for future reference. He gave me more attitude. I told him I don’t need any attitude from him, just take me to where I have requested.

He then said he isn’t going to take us anyway where and to leave the car. My mum (who is elderly!) was already in and I was getting in. I got my mum out of the car and called the operator who showed no shock or surprise, or even care and when I said the company is terrible, the operator replied with an obnoxious answer of “We’re the biggest taxi company in the UK!” Er, what? With the worse drivers in the UK! To incorrectly brag about the company when a customer is in the process of complaining about how absolutely rubbish the company is, is beggars belief!

Stay away from this company. They do not deserve the customers!

Awful service with a nasty, arrogant driver. Absolutely no need for the attitude. Took us to the wrong Ibis Hotel after we had told the controller the full address where we wanted to go. He parked about 50 yards away from Browns then blamed us for being in the wrong place. Awful experience. Avoid at all costs.

We have just got an amber car back home to Tewson Road SE18 from Tesco Woolwich SE18 at approx 15.15 pm he just avoided a collision 💥 with a Black Cab in Herbert road SE18. Then he decides to have a speed match with a motorcycle 🏍️ at the junction of Griffin road we had to ask him to slow down as he has fair paying passenger's in the car our shopping was thrown over in the boot and we are both disabled he was going over Speed bumps at speed. what kind of driving is this. Appalling.

The driver was 20 minutes late good job we weren’t going to the airport! We were in the taxi 11 mins 6.4 miles and I was told they accepted cards! He charged us £14 the price of fuel has gone down not up! Avoid this company we will never use them again! Needless to say we didn’t use them on the way back!

Amber Car drivers will use the longest routes so they can charge you more. They are insensitive to your plight regardless. They justify their merry go round movement with lies.......road repairs, more traffic but they are all lies!

Wish I had read the reviews on Trustpilot before booking a taxi with them. Booked a car for 11pm on Saturday 8th July and had to prepay for the journey. Booking was confirmed but at 11 pm the car did not arrive and we were waiting in the pouring rain. I called the office and was simply told that I would have to bear with them. No faint idea of when the cab would be with us or any reasonable excuse for why the booking had not been honoured.

By 11.35, we were drenched and managed to get a cab from another company. A refund was given when I cancelled the booking but no apology or explanation was forthcoming. They don't give a damn.

Customer service is none existent and take my advice, don't use this taxi company if they were the last one on earth.

I wish there was a lower star than 1. The driver came 15 mins late for a morning airport ride booked for my parents. About 10 mins into the trip, he informed them that he was taking the longer city route instead of the Motorway and that they should pay £20 extra if they wanted the shorter one. Amber cars hadnt pre-informed us of this. Attempts to resolve it by Amber cars were useless...In fact they stated and I quote "We are just a phone service, resolve your issues with the Driver". A completely and utter useless service, that shouldnt only be banned, but represents the very core of rotten exploitation.

Pre booked a cab 2 days before our journey. It arrived late. The driver explained Amber only put the jobs out to drivers on the morning / afternoon of the booking. A driver may not be available or may decide it’s not worthwhile so will decline. So basically it’s a total lottery and when you book you may or may not get a cab and it may be late. Read their t’s and c’s which state your contract is with the driver (if you get one) nothing to do with them. Avoid.

Awful. 25 minutes late and I had to call to see where they were. Prebooked a taxi for my dad and he almost missed his train. I’ll be using Uber next time.

First of all, placed my booking an hour in advance to make sure that I will make it in time, only to stand 35 minutes at the front of my house with nobody picking me up & no calls/messages or updates of the booking to provide an insight as to what is going on.
Called their number 3 times, first time person hung up without any update, second told me that the driver will call shortly, this gave us a false hope and kept is waiting longer, eventually nobody called after 10 minutes.. and for the final time, I was transferred to a very rude lady who not only was of 0 help, she just told me that someone called me 4 times (0 missed calls as I was constantly on my phone awaiting an update) and that my booking is cancelled and Bye bye… this was 20 minutes prior my bus leaving for the airport.

Never ever am I going to drive with these frauds and i will advise anybody in my surrounding to avoid & go with more reliable company.

Booked a taxi with this company and requested to pay remotely as my child had no payment.

Link sent and didn’t work. Rang office and they said they would send me a new link.

No link received. Daughter rings me so I can speak to driver and he wants paying cash. I am two hours away. The girls were very scared. Driver maintained the upper hand in the conversation knowing he had my female child in the car.

After arrange for cash to be borrowed sue was released for the taxi.

Shouldn’t even be trading. Detailed account sent to relevant licensing office. This cannot be allowed to happen at tye failure of their technology.

Booked a taxi to take my client who came from London bbc journalist to train station driver phoned to say he’s outside when he clearly wasn’t eventually he turned up to refuse job saying I don’t take suitcases bbc journalist had a camera & suitcase taxi driver drove off well done amber cars you really showed your true colours respresenting Leeds! I immediately phoned to log in complaint operator called Becky wasn’t slightest interested appalling customer service got Uber instead ! Driver will be reported to vehicle licensing in Leeds

Booking Ref 46415336A and 46417415A. Anticipated cost in the region of £20, but took £23 from my bank for both trips. Explained to me that's because of unexpected diversions etc, but stated that difference would be refunded within 3 days. Date of journeys 26th April. Todays date 13th May. Still no refund. When I asked why they told me the Bank were holding my change, not them. Then told I have to scan my bank statement and send to them to get my refund. Asked to speak to lady's supervisor. She put me through to a pre-recorded message guiding me to their website to leave feedback. Said someone would get back to me within 5 days. Actual cost of journeys £19.80 & £20.10. How many people don't check their statements and let Amber Cars get away with this robbery? They haven't heard the last of me!

If possible I would give 0 star review. Just home from Leeds where we went for a funeral. The hotel booked a taxi(s) from Amber cars at around 10:00 on 28/04/23 on our behalf for a group of six. The pick up time was 14:10 to travel around 1 mile to the crematorium. We understood and accepted that two cars might be sent if a six seater was not available. No mention was made that they could not guarantee prompt arrival at the hotel. It was vital that we were on time as 1) it is extremely inconsiderate, even rude, to be late for a funeral and 2) one member of our group was speaking at the funeral. The hotel reception called Amber again, on our behalf, just after 14:10. At this point there were other people complaining as their taxis - booked with Amber - had not arrived. Some were to attend the same funeral others needed to go to the airport. I made a further call myself at 14:16. Amber cars said that the hotel had already called about this and they don't guarantee the time that a car will arrive. They said they were doing their best but were short of drivers. They were trying to send the nearest cars. After a few minutes more we decided to try alternatives as we had zero confidence that any Amber taxi would arrive. We arrived at the crematorium late, after help from several very kind people who were strangers to us. We were told later that by the hotel that one car had arrived after we left. I have never experienced such appalling, unforgivably shoddy service from a taxi company. When we next visit Leeds I would rather walk than rely on Amber cars!

You need to keep your stinking drivers out of leeds and get them back to Bradford smelly f****s dirty perverted people people dont order this taxi for young people or vulnerable people dirty vile B@$tards wait till I see another taxi near me bricks goi g through the wendi

Rude,threatening driver!
Driver demanded money upfront for journey my daughter said she is getting the money when she arrives at her destination( never been a problem before) driver then threatened to lock her in the car and "snatch" her phone until he got the money. I called the office to make a complaint and the person on the call was rude, not caring and was defending the driver saying he had the right to ask for money upfront. He totally disregarded my concerns about the drivers threatening tone towards a 16 year old girl. NEVER USE THIS TAXI SERVICE. Police have been informed!
