Easily the best company I have ever worked for, hands down. They always appreciate my hard work and everyone I have ever met here has been incredibly friendly and helpful. Everyone really makes you feel part of a team! They believed in me when I didn't believe in myself and I was honoured to be promoted by them last year. I am grateful to be a part of this company and I am proud to work for them.

The payment is always on time (every 2 weeks) and their rates are much higher than the minimum wage. I feel appreciated and all the staff are helpful, even the managers. I would definitely recommend this company!

Working with Aligned...

Nothing short of amazing. I have learned quite a bit and am excited to add this experience to my resume.

My first month as an SME Reviewer with Aligned Labs has been great. Management is fair, and payouts are reliably early. They offer competitive rates that respect the skill sets of academics and experienced professionals. The work is challenging, but support and open communication are always accessible. Highly recommended.

Pros:
1. Leadership is open to suggestions from reviewers and writers on how a particular domain should proceed. Letting the experts fine tune the tasks/reviewing improves quality

2. Leadership respects fellows time and reward time spent on tasking/reviewing.

3.Leadership promotes a respectful and collaborative environment. When there are contentious issues between writers and reviewers, leadership is quick to remind all of the respectful and professional culture they are trying to promote.

Cons:
They only recommendation I have is for the leadership to make sure all reviewers align well on the project guidelines so that writers are not confused and frustrated. Some of the reviewers may not be well aligned on these.

Several fellow scholars and I worked for Aligned on multiple AI training projects, but we repeatedly experienced payment issues.

During the training calls and in the written guidance, the project manager, Miya Badley, provided instructions that we found confusing and, at times, contradictory. This caused considerable difficulty throughout the projects.

We also received different explanations from the COO and co-founder, Tyler Garvin, whenever payments were due. On some occasions, he said the company was making changes to its payment processes. At other times, he said Aligned’s payment vendor, Stripe, had placed a hold on the company’s account while reviewing a transfer or had flagged the account.

The repeated payment problems and inconsistent explanations left us deeply concerned about the company’s reliability and treatment of its workers. Based on our experience, my fellow scholars and I do not recommend working with Aligned AI Labs. We are sharing this to make others aware of the issues we encountered.

Can’t be more satisfied with how this project is organized. The transparent communication, quality of support, and overall fairness - especially when it comes to compensation - really stand out (and that’s rare, believe me). The people and culture make it even better.

There’s honestly nothing negative I can say about Aligned.

Special shoutout to Tyler (COO/co-founder) - incredibly helpful with even the smallest day-to-day things, despite his position. That kind of attitude sets the tone.

I've been working for Aligned for over two months, and my experience so far has been extremely positive: remarkably streamlined recruiting and onboarding process, clear and transparent definition of objectives and constraints, fast communication, prompt handling and resolution of problems, and, last but not least, always accurate and timely payments. I’ve had a very positive experience working with this company so far. One of the standout aspects is the excellent communication. There is a team chat where everyone can ask questions, share ideas, and support each other, which makes a big difference in day-to-day work.
The management team is also very responsive and helpful. Whenever I’ve needed assistance, managers have replied quickly and provided clear guidance.
Another strong point is how the company handles issues. If there are any problems with tracking hours or technical bugs on the platforms we use, they actively step in to communicate on our behalf and ensure that all completed work is fairly compensated—even in situations where tasks couldn’t be submitted due to system failures.
Payments are always made on time, which builds a strong sense of trust and reliability. Additionally, I’ve had the opportunity to grow within the company quite quickly, including moving up in category and receiving an increase in hourly pay.
Overall, it’s a supportive and well-organized company that values its workers and ensures fairness in both communication and compensation.

I have been working with Aligned for about 3 months, and overall, my experience has been positive. At the beginning, things were a bit confusing, especially since it was my first time working remotely, but the dashboard and instructions became easy to understand over time.

The support and management teams are very responsive and patient in handling questions and resolving issues. Payments and hourly reports have always been on schedule and processed quickly, which is something I truly appreciate.

Since some projects involve collaboration with other companies, there were a few minor miscommunications at the beginning, but these were clarified through announcements transition to other platform.

Despite the sometimes inconsistent workload and abrupt projects (which are all part of this field), the team stay on top of communication with plenty of heads up leading up to live-dates. It has been a pleasure working with Aligned, and my continued time with them looks bright.

This describes Aligned Labs perfectly. The financial aspect is also important, and Aligned Labs compensates well and genuinely values our expertise. The strong, mutual working relationship between the experts and the support team creates a solid foundation that can last for years.
The support team at Aligned Labs has built a positive and collaborative environment through the working platform, where we can discuss questions and real project situations. Updated guidelines, helpful suggestions, and practical examples are always available and make a significant difference. There is trust and respect throughout the company, and that is what makes Aligned Labs truly exceptional.

Aligned Labs has been a pleasure to work with. From the quick and frequent communication about project pauses or resumptions to letting us know how our pay is calculated per period, they show a rare level of willingness to directly answer with annotators' questions that I have not seen on other platforms.

Most importantly, any changes made to project rubrics are *always* followed up with live messages/correspondence from an actual admin; they clarify any confusion introduced by the new project guidelines, so you never feel like the goalposts are being moved. Coming from other websites with little engagement from admins, this is so important and a stark differentiator of Aligned Labs from their competitors.

My only complaint is that the work can be short-lived, but that's the nature of the industry at large, and the geographic distribution of the raters, and not attributable to Aligned Labs.

It's been a great experience for me here, and I look forward to continued work with them.
