Apart from time change ferry was comfortable with good facilities

I hardly dare to write a review about this route because it is a bit of hidden jem, and I want to keep it hidden! But everything is very relaxed, efficient and friendly. It all just works and is a relaxing way to cross the channel.

Food and drinks on board are good quality but very expensive.

Good crossing as Dieppe and Newhaven are both quieter ports so less delay. Nice crossing time - 4 hours is enough time to relax but not too long to be bored. Ship was ok, not a huge amount to do but nothing more really required. Plenty of seating available both inside and on deck but it wasn't full to capacity on our sailing. Food on board was average - nothing special but good enough and reasonably priced. Took a while to disembark - normally you are called to the car deck before the ship docks and everyone is off quickly but we weren't allowed into our vehicles until after docking and then it took about 30-40 mins to finally get off. Slight delay at passport control but not too long - about 10-15 mins but we were one of the last ones off.

Excellente traversée. Embarquement facilité par le fait qu’il n’y ait qu’un seul bateau ! Rapide et très bon marché.

The crossing was perfectly OK, although for some reason 2 hours slower than the day crossing. We got the last 2 recliners somehow which helped from a sleeping perspective. My main gripe is that cars are seemingly loaded completely randomly, so despite being there very early, about 2130 for a 2359 departure, we were put in the last lane and loaded last which meant that all the best spots on the ferry were already taken and we were almost the last off. It can't be beyond the capabilities of DFDS to load first come first served, physical restrictions apart obviously. We were in a normal family sized car.

Well organized, polite staff but seating not suitable for a comfortable 5 hour night crossing. Most uncomfortable night.

Always SO SLOW to disembark. 1 hour!

A few hours after booking we realized a mistake and there was no chance to cancel the booking without a fee. Although we booked super early in March for a trip end of July and really had to cancel shortly after the booking. That's why we then changed plans to use the Eurotunnel instead to avoid booking with DFDS for this trip again.

Long crossing but good value. The staff are really helpful and efficient. There is a lounge where you can sleep if you don't want to pay for a cabin but the seats aren't that comfortable for that length of time and you need something warm to cover up as the Aircon is very chilly.

L'officier de quai a refusé mon embarquement! Sous prétexte que je n'avais pas lu les conditions générales de vente!! C'est vrai sur votre site de réservation elles ne sont pas disponibles. J'aimerai les avoir à ma disposition pour savoir si elle disait vrai. Merci d'avance de me les communiquer.

Poor leading. Wet slippy surfaces on ferry. Dangerous for motorbikes. Unloading procedure poor and long. Stop starting not good for motorbikes

Only a 4 hour crossing but almost an hour to get off the Ferry after we had docked.

Aferry charged me for altering booking then said they had not.spoke to dfds who sorted it. Aferry apologised and reembursed but should not have said can alter booking when couldnt

All good, on time with friendly staff. 0600 was an early start but the full English started the day nicely!
