I’ve sold over 52 items on the site for free so can’t fault it there, but one of my sales was to a really fussy person bought an expensive amp I paid 2200 euro for, it was mint and I sold it for a bargain of just €1600. A beautiful flagship Yamaha amp that will last for life and was only a few weeks old from new and €600 cheaper than the lowest online retailer richer sounds at the time. Anyhow this guy after nearly a week decides that he doesn’t want it anymore even tho he came into my house and inspected it and took it. He said the cover for the remote was missing! But when he left me a nasty review adverts.ie blocked me from leaving my own review on his profile to say my piece. Totally wrong and unfair by adverts and this person.

I used to use adverts.ie and gave good reviews when it worked.
But now it tells me that it's not available in my area.
I tried uninstalling , reinstalling , updating apps and security etc.
Sent an email.
But I guess they are not interested in customers anymore.
Well I guess until someone else comes along that can deliver a service that works.

Going to let my friends know about how bad they have become not that they care.

I placed an ad on Adverts, the cost was €27 which I paid. However when I checked it was still pending awaiting payment (despite getting a receipt). I emailed them numerous occasions, wrote via messenger and sent a message via their website but silence, no response. I ended up paying a second €27. I wish I read previous reviews before placing the ad, as other people said their customer service is non-existent.

It would be zero if I could leave that rating. The lack of security this website has is crazy, the website is full of scams now. Stay well clear of this website

If I could leave 0 stars I would. The support on this site from admin is atrocious! I had an account with 65 positive reviews and when I refused to sell a TOY to one user they started stalking and spamming my account to the point I had to have it delete and set up a new account. It did not take long for my stalker to follow me over though and it got so bad they were following my listings and when people commented they would warn them against buying from me! I have reported this behaviour several times in the last year and NOTHING was done about it! It is not safe to sell on adverts with people like that allowed on the site!

Further to adverts response I had emailed the admin several times over the last year and they did nothing about it!

I am a regular user of Adverts and Done deal and like many other users I do my utmost to abide by rules and respect other users.

I have never had such an encounter with another seller who slated me negatively both publicly and privately on 3 occasions without even buying their item.

I subsequently reported incident to Adverts.ie and asked them to please remove the unwarranted negative feedback from my profile. This is the one and only "negative feedback " I've ever received on said site. I explained to them that this was harassment and that I had suffered bullying in my past.
They just told me to try and resolve the issue directly with the seller in question.

I've asked them again to please remove the horrid feedback. I haven't yet received any response.

It used be great to sell and buy second hand things, but now there are just loads of shops and we can’t even filter them.

Had an ovibous scammer trying to buy from me.viewed their profile and seen the amount of offer's they made on many items in the space of twenty minutes so I igenored,as soon as I logged off a stafmember from adverts.ie had private message me to inform me not to sell or give info to that buyer and they had removed them. It seems to me like they are doing their job .

Terrible website run by people who don’t respond to reports of users breaking house rules. Also there are hundreds of sellers selling large amounts of iPhones which is suspicious to say the least

Adverts has been taken over by scammers and they doing nothing to stop them. I have reported dozens of obvious scammed ads (photos from US sites etc) and they have done nothing.

Arranged to buy something from a user with over 1.5k positive feedback and 0 negative. Long story short I didn't get the item and when I tried to leave negative feedback they had blocked me so I couldn't. Was able to leave feedback the next week somehow but it was then removed (by adverts.ie presumably) and any attempts to contact adverts was ignored. What is the point of feedback if it can just get removed like that? No wonder the seller had all positive feedback if any negatives are just wiped!

A terrible customer support following a seller who took money, failed to send the item, lied about offering a reimbursement and refused to pay back money stolen by using PayPal Friends and Family. Adverts have zero support and will do NOTHING.

My account was hacked and bank card used through adverts. Have sent numerous emails and still no reply, absolute joke of a company to contact

The Walter Mitties (Day dreamers), the Beggars On Horseback & The Stalkers the worst kind, who watch your advert like voyeurs, with zero input. You name it, there here on Adverts.

I'm not sure if there is any customer service. My account was hacked in some way. An item went for sale that I didn't put on. Looking for over a thousand with an offer on it a few hours later. I withdrew the ad as soon as I saw it and contacted adverts immediately. No response to emails. I tried changing the password but then I got locked out of my account. I don't know if someone will be scammed as I have a few good reviews of my own but adverts do not seem to have the system to deal with it. I looked online & saw a few people who have been scammed due to hacked accounts.

I see adverts still has not cleaned up their act and one would think its in their best interests to do so. I once used their site and had well over 600 positives and along came a brand new account with no feedback at all and attacked my ads for no reason. So i blocked them and logged out only to discover i was blocked on adverts and had to go beg to their customer care team which i did not. That happened in 2019 and i see this is still going on in 2023. The people doing the blocking are cowards and afraid to stand up to their choice and explain it so instead they power trip.

It's been bad but recently it's been even worse with the resellers situation. There're numerous of accounts that are clearly there to request free stuff for reselling purposes. What's even more shocking it's the fact that it also happens in the baby section, primarily the buggies and car seats. Most of the sellers tend to accept the first request, and those are usually the scammers and reseller and the quickest to request. If the seller realises they've accepted a request from clearly a reseller, they can't really cancel and go to the next in line casue they're afraid of a negative feedback pending. Really terrible system! And what's worse - I've reported clearly obvious resellers with clearly multiple accounts (which is against the terms and conditions of that platform), and absolute NO REACTION FROM ADVERTS! I'm starting to think they're in it together, hence would rather not recommend giving your stuff away here, especially if you're looking to pass on to people in need - those are never with priority, it's always the resellers and scammers on Adverts. Avoid!

It's disheartening to witness how Adverts.ie, once a reliable online marketplace, has fallen victim to a plague of scammers. Recently, I have come across a deeply concerning trend that has left me questioning the integrity of the platform.

Multiple sellers, allegedly operating under the guise of private sellers, have flooded Adverts.ie with an astonishing number of ads, each boasting an inventory of nearly 4,000 listings. This sheer volume of listings immediately raises suspicions as it goes beyond the realm of private selling and treads into the territory of commercial selling. Such rampant activity should necessitate proper registration and compliance with tax and VAT regulations.

Shockingly, these sellers have chosen to evade their fiscal obligations, refusing to provide any VAT or tax information upon request. Instead of cooperating, they opt to block any inquiries about their financial transparency. This blatant disregard for tax regulations is a matter of grave concern, especially with DAC7 obligations on the horizon.

What's even more alarming is the apparent complicity of Adverts.ie in these dubious activities. Two of my friends, who attempted to expose one of these questionable accounts by leaving negative feedback, had 3 of their reviews mysteriously deleted. This not only points to a lack of transparency but also suggests that Adverts.ie might be concealing the extent of this issue from its users.

In response to this troubling situation, my friends and I have reached out to other reputable sellers on Adverts and diligently collected evidence in the form of screenshots, which we intend to provide to the relevant authorities, including Revenue, to shed light on these unscrupulous sellers and their activities.

In conclusion, Adverts.ie's current state is a far cry from the trustworthy platform it once was. The rampant presence of scammers, along with the platform's apparent unwillingness to address the issue transparently, has severely tarnished its reputation. Until Adverts.ie takes decisive action against these scammers and restores trust within its community, I can only urge potential buyers to exercise extreme caution when using this platform and request VAT ID from Shops and check it aligns with VIES.
