Best ever .....

Even though there are certainly more favourable circumstances for a conversation, it was nevertheless a a very positive experience I had with the Acronis support.
I can look back on a long professional career and cannot recall ever having had such a positive experience during a support transaction.

Their software for cloning drives is…

Their software for cloning drives is absolute garbage. Maybe the worst experience I’ve ever had with a piece of software. It just locks your computer up for hours and does nothing. You have to physically shut your computer off in order to close it after it has been running for hours with no results. Otherwise it won’t let you do anything. You can’t even ctrl+alt+delete. You have to push the physical power button on the computer and just shut it off. Absolute garbage.

It’s important to clarify a few points.

- First, this appears to be an OEM version of the software.
For OEM licenses, support is provided by the hardware vendor, not directly by Acronis. Please contact the provider that supplied the software with your device.

- Second, a disk clone is not the same as a backup.
Cloning has inherent local limitations: it runs at the disk and hardware level, depends on system state, drivers, and storage controllers, and is not designed to offer recovery, rollback, or resilience scenarios like a proper backup does. Interruptions or freezes during cloning are often related to local system or hardware factors.

For reference, the current official retail product supported by Acronis is Acronis True Image 2026, where full support is provided when used with a standard (non‑OEM) license and through proper support channels.

Acronis True Image Tech Support is TERRIBLE

Acronis software has lost its ability to update virus signatures and, therefore, will not back up files either. I have submitted a tech support ticket, and the first and second responses were for information that I had provided the first time. It is clear they don't even bother to read the tech support request and instead send out cookie-cutter responses. I have been waiting for three days for a response to the fatal error that Acronis True Image has encountered. I have done clean uninstalls using their cleaning executable file, followed all instructions to perfection, and still the software does not work. I am not sure why tech support cannot deal with this in a timely fashion. Needless to say, once the subscription is over, I will be going elsewhere.

Helpful and knowledgeable support

Non IT Professional Needs Help

My project was to rationalize my inventory of backups going back to 2011, manage my hard drive and on-line capacity, and stream line my backup process going forward. Not being an IT professional made this task virtually undoable. Mridul was patient and his follow-up after each session was to-the-point, operational, and within my grasp to understand. I feel very confident about my ability to manage this process in the future.
