Hypervolt EV charger installation
After a great deal of research, I chose 247/EV to install my Hypervolt EV charger. I chose this installer as Chris had been very helpful and hand on in answering my questions at the survey stage and had given me the confidence that mine would be a standard and fairly straight forward installation. The unit arrived exactly when it was supposed to and the administrative arrangements for the day of the install went very smoothly. The installer was clearly very experienced and he did a very neat install.
My new car wasn't due to arrive for a few weeks after the actual installation was completed so I was not using it straight away. However, on a couple of occasions I had noticed that the front of the charger was showing a red light which indicates a fault. On the third occasion this happened, I contacted 247/EV and they directed me to Hypervolt the manufacturer of the charger. Cutting a long story short, it transpired that what was causing the problem, was the charger was experiencing voltage spikes from my power supply and this was causing it to trip out (all EV chargers are designed to trip out if the voltage it receives falls outside of a pre-defined range - this is to protect not only the charger itself but also the car it is attached to). With Hypervolt's help, it was discovered that the voltage spikes were being caused by the in-coming power supply to my property which was the responsibility of National Grid and there was no issue at all with the installation nor with the charger. National Grid initially tried to pass the book but Chris at 247/EV was instrumental in getting them to sit up and take action. After further involvement from me, National Grid actually then visited the sub-station that feeds my property (only 2 doors away) and found, by their own admission, that the voltage was set too high and this was what was causing my EV charger to trip out. About a week later, National Grid visited again to turn the voltage down in the sub-station and this has cured the problem. I have to place on record the great service I have received from both 247/EV and Hypervolt in helping me to achieve a resolution to this problem which was not of their making.

247 EV delivered an outstanding end-to-end service, far better than my experience dealing with the manufacturer (Ohme) for installation. They were excellent across all aspects.
1.Simple Digital Experience – Their website was easy to use and made the initial process smooth.
2.Professional Communication – Every phone call and email was polite, prompt, and professional.
3.Clear, Honest Quotes – No hidden details – everything was transparent and well explained.
4.Personalised Survey – The pre-install survey requested was key for me. They assessed my needs and ensured / met my demands for no visible wiring in my install case– a truly bespoke service that recognised that every install is different.
5.Above-and-Beyond Service – They even coordinated with the electricity board to arrange and install a cut-off change – showing real care and attention. Parts / components were delivered directly to me well in time for install Day.
6.Reliable and Responsive – They showed up on time for both the survey and install, and responded quickly to all queries.
A big thank you to Karl Evans and his colleague, who carried out the install with professionalism and pride in their work. Everything was completed to a high standard with care and precision.

A Bit of a Mixed Bag: Great Advisors & Tidy Install, but Communication Let Downs
I recently opted for 247EV.co.uk for the installation of a Hypervolt 3 Pro EV charger in white at my home. I chose them even though they were a tad more expensive than other companies because their advisors were consistently lovely to deal with – genuinely friendly and always willing to lend a hand. I also appreciated their promised quick turnaround times. However, from start to finish, it's been a bit of a frustrating journey due to a few significant hiccups.
The Good Bits:
Advisor Interactions: The folk at 247EV.co.uk were indeed brilliant to deal with on the phone – genuinely friendly and always seemed willing to lend a hand. Can't fault them on that.
Installation Quality: When the electrician finally arrived, the installation itself was top-notch – really smooth, incredibly neat, and a genuinely tidy job. No complaints there at all (other then he failed to seal the holes he made, which I did after with a little silicon).
Where Things Went Wrong:
Open-Box Charger: I’d specifically ordered a brand-new charger, so I was a bit miffed when the Hypervolt 3 Pro turned up via DPD in an open box. Annoyingly, I also had to chase them for the tracking number beforehand, as it wasn't sent automatically. I was told it was an unused return from another customer who’d simply wanted a different colour. Fair enough, and kudos to them for offering a £50 refund as compensation, which I did appreciate. However, it would have been miles better if they’d just been upfront about it being an open-box item from the get-go. That way, I could have made a proper choice – and honestly, I probably would have insisted on a factory-sealed one.
Missed Appointment & No Call: Then came the installation day. My initial slot was booked for 3rd June 2025 at 12:30 pm. By 1:30 pm, with no sign of anyone, I gave 247EV a ring myself. They then had to chase the electrician. I was eventually told the electrician couldn't make it because their previous job had turned into a "non-standard install." What really grated was that neither the electrician nor 247EV bothered to call me beforehand to let me know. That's just poor form and meant I could have wasted a good chunk of my day. We had to re-book for 5th June at 9 am.
Chasing the Electrical Certificate: Finally, the electrical certificate. The electrician said I’d get it from 247EV within a few days. Guess what? More chasing required. It eventually landed in my inbox today, 19th June 2025, after yet another nudge from me.
Overall Impression:
So, whilst the initial contact with the advisors was pleasant and the actual installation itself was brilliant, the recurring issues with transparency (re: the open-box charger), the lack of communication about the missed appointment, and the need to chase for documentation really soured the experience. It's been a frustrating process despite the good elements, which is why, unfortunately, it's only a 2-star review from me.

Not bad, but could be much better.
To clarify, I didn't choose 247ev, Hypervolt chose them for me to install an EV charger.
Engineer completely missed the first appointment without contact, also booked the next visit for the wrong date, but at least I got an email to say this so I didn't have to waste another day off work. A bit pricey as they didn't think my install was standard, yet on the day it couldn't have been easier. Installer also fitted the current transformer backwards so the charger was mistaken about when we had excess solar production to use.
Happy with the end result, but not a great journey to get there.

Fantastic Experience – Great Product & Professional Service
I recently had a Hypervolt Home 3 Pro installed by 24/7 EV, and the whole process was smooth from start to finish. Joanne was incredibly helpful during the purchase, making sure everything was clearly explained and organised ahead of time. The technician who carried out the installation was pleasant, punctual, and very efficient. The charger, wiring, and RCB were installed neatly and professionally, and all waste was cleaned up afterwards. Really impressed with both the customer service and the quality of the installation—highly recommend!

Process from booking to installation was very smooth. The team were extremely friendly and keen to ensure that everything was prepared for a hassle-free delivery.
Although due to how busy the team is, it took a while for the appointment, on the day it was a faultless service. The installation was discussed before any holes were drilled, the job was completed to a high degree finish, the work area was kept clean and tidy, and the handover and set up of the charger and any required applications was painless. Our installer was polite and courteous throughout. I would recommend using this company for charging installation.
