Marie help with payment issues.

Marie help me with handling a a subscription payment that had gone through the day before when I didn't have the money for it. I intend to come back to 21 draw, just am in a limited financial situation right now. Marie helped me instantly and now I am doing better off for it.

Amazing customer service!!

I put in the wrong address because I recently moved and phone automatically put old address in, I emailed 21 Draw day of purchase and they corrected my address before shipping!! Love and I can't wait to see the art book I bought!

Ohne Englisch geht nix

Ich finde, die Kurse nicht anfängergeeignet und es nervt mich mega, dass alle Kurse in Englisch sind. Hatte mir zum Vorteilspreis das Jahresabonnement geholt und hab’s dann nicht genutzt aufgrund der Sprache. Natürlich kann man sich langhangeln am Gezeigten, aber ich möchte ja lernen, auch die Kniffe und Tricks. Naja… hab Lehrgeld bezahlt.

Wasn't sure what to expect at first, but Erika Wiseman's course totally, hooked me. She explains things so clearly, her style is easy to follow. I've always struggled with facial expressions, but now they actually look like what I want them to. Its the first time I felt Like I'm improving.

Automatic renewal - WARNING!!!

Yep, another company benefiting from auto-renewal payments then refusing to refund. They say they do 'everything they can' to inform customers about the renewal, but at the end of the day it's a system set up to benefit THEM. No customer want automatic annual renewals, mostly because things get forgotten about in the space of 12 months. The KINDER things to do would be to contact customers to warn them that their subscription is coming to an end and ASKING THEM if they want to renew.

So, yes, 21-draw, you can reply to this and talk about terms and conditions and emails and reminders, but the fact you won't offer a refund shows you care more about money than you do your customers.

Subscription issues and refund

UPDATE:

Sorry for the long review, thank you if you're patient enough to read through everything.

In my state of distress, I was impatient and posted this review in frustration. I ended up getting a refund and sincerely thank the 21 Draw team, in particular Marie, who kindly emailed me back explaining why they didn't respond straight away and their side of operations.

Upon having a clearer head, I would still like to provide feedback. I've read through the FAQs and T&Cs and whilst it does make sense when you read it closely, I feel like a lot of people including myself still find it confusing at first glance and misunderstand.
It would be better to state the negative first (i.e. Please note: we do not offer refunds for renewed subscriptions) and then state the positive (i.e. we do however, allow refunds during the first-time purchase for a period of 30 days).

In regards to refunds as well, I understand there's a fine line between the company needing to earn/keep money and customers getting refunds.

Perhaps implementing a system with refunds whether it be for digital ebooks, physical content, or subscriptions, have a list of reasons for the refund (e.g. medical reasons, work redundancy, home emergency, etc) and potential proof for why the consumer needs to get a refund, in order for people to not abuse the refund system if that makes sense?

Definitely monitor and record for subscribers, a notification of upcoming payment to their emails. I didn't receive any, but I think it would help a lot. For some of my subscriptions like Crunchyroll, Stan, and some online games, I get an email alerting me ahead of time, that I have payments due in for e.g. a week's time.

I have no feedback in terms to the goods and services provided on the website, as I didn't end up using the content offered. I think based off the positive reviews it is helpful.

Thank you again for the people who took the time to solve and answer my grievances. I do think 21 Draw can improve in some areas, but I believe they'll manage and grow as a company.

Similar to the other reviews, I had purchased an annual subscription, did not use it at all and forgot about it (last year was an intense year for me) and then was renewed without any prior notice.

I am pretty sure when I bought it in the first place, there was some fake advertisement saying buy and gain lifetime access, so I'm pretty devastated that it's actually a subscription. I was looking up Sweden and Australian laws, and I believe what 21 Draw does is rope people into an unfair contract. This is when companies have policies that benefit them more than customers. There should always be an equal balance of power. It does not help that their fine print is not clear and concise. It is worded in a roundabout way, instead of being straightforward.

I haven't received a response from the team at 21 Draw yet, but looking at other reviews I have little hope that they'll refund me. It is just such a huge blow, because I have bills upcoming and they took almost $100 from me. I checked through all my mail boxes; promotions, primary, spam, and so on, and I could not find any email warning me that there would be an upcoming charge.

Instead in the email they sent where they charged me, they had an invoice that was issued on the exact same day that they took money out of my account from me.
Under both Swedish and Australian law, invoices should have a period of 30 days from the date the customer receives it, for the consumer to pay. I understand it's different for every company, some have 20, 15, or 10, but issuing a same day invoice seems unfair, especially if there is a long history with the company of their customers being in the same boat as I - not realising or forgetting they have a subscription and being charged without any reminders.

I have to wait for the transaction to fully process, but once it is done, I will definitely be passing this on to my bank to dispute, and I'll be contacting the ACCC and Konsumentverket respectively, as I believe 21 Draws potentially falls under a subscription trap.

Businesses are only as successful as their customer service, not just their goods. To deny customers the right to a refund, not give any notice, not be clear in their T&Cs, be passive aggressive or borderline gaslight customers, and have multiple reviews of people in the same position, highlights that there is an issue and things need to be changed with the way the company works.

(Please read entire revised review.) The descriptions about refund are close…

The descriptions about refund are close to mine. I cancelled my plan, received confirmation of cancellation on their website but was invoiced for renewal fee. If this practice complies with some convoluted policy it is definitely unclear how one cancels an unwanted plan. Leaves a bad impression of a product I had enjoyed.

I have received an explanation on Jan 27, of the reason for the billing. It is clear that a real person reviewed evidence submitted and purchase history and has refunded a coupon-related purchase. It is also clear that TrustPilot posting generated a prompt response. I am grateful.

When you cancel your plan after its renewal, our system applies your cancellation at the next billing period, meaning you can continue enjoying your subscription for the time you have already paid, and then the subscription expires with no further action from your side. But our system doesn't automatically refund any cancelled subscription.

They take your money without notice

They charge you automatically for a renewal of your subscription without warning, and then refuse to give a refund because apparently they only give refunds within 30 days of the first time you purchase a subscription, not within 30 days of taking your money. There is seemingly no easy way to stop them from renewing your subscription, you just have to cancel your subscription before they take your money. If they refuse to refund they should have an easy "turn off auto renewal" setting. They claim in responses to previous reviews that they will take steps to make sure people are aware of the renewal terms, but clearly they haven't, since I didn't know about the "no refunds for renewals" bullshit. I can only hope I find the time to use some of their courses this year, since they decided to run off with my money, but I barely used it last year. Definitely won't be returning to this site in the future, or recommending it to anyone I know.

$88 stealth renewal fee, never again

I was charged an $88 renewal fee without a heads up. And let’s be honest, with the mountain of incoming emails we are bombarded with, a more direct notification (preferably a text) is critical. But then they wouldn’t have my $88 (along with all the others who were charged unknowingly) fattening up THEIR BANK ACCOUNT. I’m so sick of battling auto renewing subscription fees. I wouldn’t recommend, unless you set an alarm to remind yourself of that stealth auto renewal!

Les cours ne sont pas pédagogie

A ce jour, je ne suis pas satisfaite de mon expérience pédagogique concernant les cours « 21 Draw ».
J'ai l'impression de tourner en rond, de stagner, de perdre mon temps et de ne pas toujours savoir dessiner.

Selon mon expérience vécu. Je ne vous recommande pas de vous engager pour 1 année entière sur ce site d'apprentissage mais juste pour un essai gratuit. Car, aillant fait l’expérience depuis mon inscription du 8 décembre 2023, je peu constater qu'il y a peu de cours disponible concernant les fondamentaux du dessin 2D (ex : de l'anatomie, de la perspective a 1-2-3-(4)-5 point de fuite, du dessin d’observation, de la calligraphie etc...).

Il n'y a peu d'exercice pour vous aider à mettre en pratique ce que vous avez appris en vous rendant autonome. Dans les quelques cours que j'ai pu observer, on ne vous apprend pas vraiment à dessiner en utilisant la bonne méthodologie d'apprendre comme il se doit, mais on vous enseigne d'une manière qui ne sont pas pédagogique. Par exemple, vous apprendrez à dessiner l'ombre, mais seulement comme l'instructeur veut que vous la dessiniez et non pas comme la lumière et l'ombre devraient être dans chacun des angles et des coins.
Si vous décidez de consulter un cours, vous verrez qu'un cours complet sur un thème choisi peut durer plus de 9 heures, mais attention ! Cela ne sert qu'à rallonger la durée de vie du cours, le reste n'est que blabla et répétition futile et inutile.

Prenez exemple sur les tutoriels Youtube, ils vont droit à l'essentiel de ce que vous voulez apprendre et ne se contente pas qu'à de la théoriques. Car, pour moi, les fondamentaux du dessin 2D ne s'apprend qu'avec de la pratique. "21 Draw" est un site récent. Il commence seulement à faire ses débuts comme bêta test, beaucoup de cours sont toujours indisponible sur des thématique précis et important.

Je voudrais terminer en disant que les cours destinés aux « débutants » requièrent toujours des connaissances au préalable. En effet, un vrai débutant ne pourrait pas suivre le cours sans devoir chercher ailleurs les autres compétences qui lui manquent.

Concernant le service client, je n'ai eu aucun soucis avec eux.
