I use World Anvil for writing science and fantasy fiction and keeping a record of all my ideas, articles, maps, etc. The software is first class, suiting my needs as both a writer and world builder. It has a fantastic, supportive community that offers help and advice. Their support team is always exceptionally helpful and efficient. Overall, given the functionality and quality of the system/software as well as the customer support, the price I pay is exceptional value for money.

Very quick and responsive service - Especially on a holiday (Thanksgiving). I wasn't expecting that. :-) Appreciate the extension of lower pricing into next year due to the issue! Thak you again!

Excellent service, perfect for building my new world!

My work is in making participatory theatre akin to LARP. I use World Anvil to share information with participants, supporting them in the process of participating and also facilitating actual participation.

The platform is designed in such a way that it allows us all to feel part of a community, which is the underlying intention in all of my work.

It is so beautfully, thoughtfully, and comprehensively designed, and it is so user-friendly, that it has become a key central hub of my work, which is hugely important for the global nature of my audience.

It's also so designer-friendly! I'm no expert, but with a little help from the incredibly supportive Discord community of World Anvil folk, it's extremely easy for me to set up a site the way I need it to work, and share it with the people I need to reach.

I genuinely don't know what I would do without it.

Quick, helpful and overall very pleasant. Even with the most plain stuff such as customer service, you can really feel world anvil's refreshing personality and core principles.

I've been with Worldanvil for years now, although it has been off and on due to personal reasons. It's come a very long way in those years; there's so many amazing features, it's truly a writer's treasure trove!

It helped me kickstart my story writing process, and allowed me to keep everything neatly stored in one place. My memory is pretty bad at times, so this has been such an invaluable service.

From timelines, to family trees, to writing prompts, and everything in-between; it's truly a service you don't want to miss out on if you're a writer!

Quick and easy customer service, asking for an upgrade but was having trouble with the automated request, even with the time difference between UK and NZ was efficient and fast.

They have an appetizing introductory rate that will auto-renew for double its price after a year.
I went ahead and did that and after maybe a day of trying it out, determined it wasn't for me.
I kindly requested a cancellation and money back since it charged me for a year.
They instead said no multiple times due to "terms of service".

Although I see in another review here the owner personally reached out to someone saying, "I do feel it is completely unfair paying for a service you haven't used at all".

I’ve tried a few world building websites and this is by far the best. I’ve been using it for a good few years now.

You can essentially create your own wiki for your whatever kind of world you want, right down to the rock. They have so many article templates, prompts, everything you need really

I use it for fantasy writing and also for my own personal escape projects. However, it is also designed for DMs and other rpgs, for those who are looking for a good resource to put together their own game.

I do have a paid membership (GrandMaster), and I would definitely say that it is worth the investment if you are able to, but it does have a free option as well, and varies paid tiers to help your needs.

If you ever have a problem both the community and the people behind world anvil are really helpful and supportive.

Honestly I can’t recommend or rat World Anvil highly enough, it is truly a masterpiece that some how keeps getting better with each update and new feature that is added

Customer support was awesome! I was really happy, and found myself smiling.
Also I love being able to add co-owners to worlds, it makes joint projects so much easier to work on (I’m currently subscribed at Grandmaster tier). And there are so many more features I can’t wait to experiment with! There’s so much functionality but it still feels focused, not overwhelming. I intend to be a WorldAnvil user for a long time :)

World anvil is great!

If you're a GM, a writer, or just someone who likes making new worlds, Worldanvil is the place to go. The staff is great and the tools at your disposal are amazing.

Their customer service is stellar! I reached out because of an error I made with a promo code and purchasing a membership plan. Ioanna got back to me first thing in the morning during business hours and gave me some more time on the membership that I would have gotten with the promo code!

The service itself is very user friendly with video tutorials showing you how to navigate and use WorldAnvil, regardless of whether or not you have paid for the membership.

I had meant to downgrade my subscription to a tier that fits my usage better, but I missed the auto-renewal deadline. Ioanna was very helpful in still changing this and converting my payment to a lower-level subscription, now over a longer period of time. The response was very useful, super fast, and extremely friendly. Glad to see that this small team and their excellent platform have such professional support.

I had trouble with fastspring and was unable to take advantage of a flash discount. I reached out to their customer service, and they generously let me get the discounted price even though the offer had expired, and helped me with my account.

That being said, while most responses were within a few days, I had to wait 17 days for the first reply, hence four rather than five stars. They were apologetic about the delay.

Great product. I was auto charged a new year and wasn’t thrilled (I forgot as I had not used it in a long time, which is normal) and asked for a refund and cancellation. They gave me a partial refund, which I appreciated. The CS lady was a very good and helpful contact. Would give 5 stars if I had a full refund. Otherwise great product.

I needed to cancel my subscription due to life circumstances and Ioanna and the team did their best to accommodate me. Much appreciated it is!

World Anvil has a lot of great tools available for world building. Its especially great to organize and keep track of everything from your world. The support team is also very responsive and understanding. I've had only great experiences on WA. I cannot not recommend it if world building is a passion!

There was an error on the purchasing of a Giant subscription Loana answered my emails. She was awesome, she is the real deal in the customer service world! (I work e-commerce as-well). Give her a raise! I would’ve liked the actual website to have a refund button but I suppose they don't want people refunding too frequently unfortunately.
