I had a great experience on Winterbury training’s first aid course. Carolyn is super knowledgeable, engaging, and made everything easy to understand with plenty of practice and examples to make things clear and put them into a context that’s easy to understand. She is happy to talk things through and explain things again if you don’t understand and she is really good at making you feel safe to ask any question. I left feeling much more confident in my ability to respond in a situation that needs first aid. I would highly recommend this course to anyone looking to gain essential first aid skills, especially if you need any specific first aid tailored to workplace or a situation as they are really good at making the course relevant to you. Thank you for such a positive and worthwhile experience!

Even though I had done previous courses with Winterbury training in the past I was lucky enough to be able to attend another one yesterday, Carolyn’s knowledge and expertise are second to none and I learnt a great deal of different things different to previous courses I had attended before.
Carolyn is such a lovely happy bubbly person that made the session super informative and interesting and engaged all the group members during the practical and theory aspects putting everyone at ease .
I can’t recommend Winterbury training enough and to be honest you would be absolutely mad to go anywhere else.
100% would recommend booking yourself onto one of their courses.

The course itself was so informative, clearly laid out with a presentation and not rushed.
Covered critical topics along with topics you wouldn’t thought you would- which again amazing as I feel competent in giving first aid in a mixture of settings!

Carolyn is soooo ridiculously knowledgeable, she makes what can be a daunting subject enjoyable and informative. The practical work is extremely useful and she has all the up to date info and equipment. Would highly recommend her!

Carolyn was so knowledgeable and is a natural teacher and people person. It was a long day but she kept the group engaged and interested throughout. The session had the perfect balance of fun humour and insightful discussion. Thank you!!

I completed the blended pediatric course in April 2026. The first half was a 6 hour on-line course, which was easily accessible, clear and concise with an end of unit 'quiz'.
The second part of this course was a practical (which was held in a very nice venue). The course was delivered brilliantly by Carolyn, who was very knowledgeable, precise, understanding and at times funny! This lead to the course being undertaken in a low-pressure, relaxed environment. We each had our own equipment to practice any practical elements (CPR, bandages, slings, etc) and Carolyn observed us individually as she went round to ensure our technique was correct and efficient.
There was a short exam at the end of the course which I felt more than prepared for, thanks to the excellent tuition during the course.
I have been in my role for 25 years and have completed many first aid courses and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that this is the best first aid course I have ever completed! The combination of blended learning is a revelation and suited my work/life situation perfectly.
I would, without hesitation, thoroughly recommend this course.

Great instructor, really enthusiastic & knowledgeable. Carolyn made learning pediatric first aid so much easier with her fun way of learning. She makes sure you understand the contents & takes you through to be able to complete the course test at the end.

I recently completed a paediatric first aid course, and I wanted to share how positive my experience was—largely thanks to Carolyn.
Carolyn was absolutely lovely. Not only did she deliver the course professionally and clearly, but she also went above and beyond to support me personally. I struggle with anxiety and overwhelm, and she showed genuine kindness, patience, and understanding throughout. Her encouragement made a real difference to my confidence on the day.
What stood out even more was the support she offered before the course. I had called for help with accessing the online part of the training, and although she wasn’t able to assist at that moment, she took the time to point me in the right direction. After finishing her teaching that day, she even followed up with an email to apologise and offered further support if I needed it before attending the course. I found this incredibly thoughtful and reassuring.
As someone with ADHD, even simple things like logging into online systems can feel frustrating and overwhelming, so her understanding and willingness to help really meant a lot.
Carolyn is a true asset—both as a trainer and as a person. It was an absolute pleasure to have been taught by her, and I’m very grateful for the experience.

Best First Aid course i've been on

I completed the Mental Health First Aid course with Winterbury Training. Carolyn is a brilliant trainer! The course is informative, collaborative, and the experience was productive and delivered with sensitivity. I would highly recommend.

I am a foster carer and did a course Thursday-Friday, March 19-20 2026.

I can honestly say this was the neatest course I can remember. We covered CPR on infants, children and adults and I learned LOADS but in a fun way.

Carolyn was engaging, accurate, funny when appropriate, VERY knowledgeable and had clearly she had "Been there, done it, got the T-Shirt!"

We also covered bleeds, from trivial to potentially catastrophic, and again, I can't fault Carolyn.

I'd recommend any of her courses.

Carolyn who is the lead trainer was exceptionally well informed experienced and clear in her way of teaching . The whole day was a hugely valuable experience and has given me much more confidence and knowledge . I would love a way to embed the info more as it was a lot to take in. But I can’t recommend her enough.

Nice mix of theory and practical. Experienced and knowledgeable trainer. Not too formal but all the material was covered. Excellent handouts.

I have attended many training sessions in the past but this one was by far the best yet !
I was engaged throughout the whole two days as the topics were so well presented.
