I had a bad experience with wildhunter with a brand new rifle i bought. It had to be rethreaded twice, I was dealing with ian and he was not nice about it and got smart with me and then stopped answering the phone to me , I previously bought a thermal and other bits and pieces and left allot off money with them , I don't think they are for the ordinary hunter anymore. I was very disappointed with them and my self and my friends will not use them any more

Bought a rod , two days later it snapped.
Told them I don’t live in country leaving soon need sorted as soon as possible the said there supervisor will sort via WhatsApp with me never got back not me. Contacted Westin they said only store can resolve. Just be careful buying rod of them there exchanges seem to not excist same with refunds. Would give negative stars.

Avoid this place—it was the worst online shopping experience of my life. Here’s the situation: on August 21st, I bought a Penn Battle III 2000 fishing reel from this online store. It turned out to be too small, so I sent it back via express post; they received it on August 25th. They have the reel, yet to this day, I haven't received a refund for the returned item—even though it has been 16 days since they received the return. I’ve been calling Wildhunter twice a week for three weeks now. Their responses are always things like "I'll handle it today" or "the person in charge is on leave but will be back tomorrow to sort it out." Yesterday, I sent them a formal demand to refund my money within four business days. If they fail to do so, I will be forced to initiate a chargeback procedure through my bank, report the company to the CCPC for unfair practices (misappropriation of my funds), and—if that doesn't work—take the matter to the Small Claims Court. I want to emphasize that this isn't about the specific amount of money involved, but the fact that I cannot get it back; Irish law guarantees a refund for returned goods within 14 days. I should also mention that I’ve been shopping online for at least 15 years and have never encountered practices like Wildhunter's; in the past, when I’ve returned items bought online, the longest I ever had to wait for a refund was three business days. If anyone from the customer service team is reading this: shame on you—your practices are disgraceful.

I ordered a 170cm rod hard case online. After 5 days, I noticed I hadn’t received a shipping notification, so I contacted Wildhunter by email. They called me and explained the item was unfortunately out of stock. They said they would look for an alternative and call me back with my options, which I was happy with.

Instead, just 2 hours later I received a shipping notification for a 160cm soft case. Nobody contacted me to confirm this, and I certainly wouldn’t have agreed to it as it was both too small and not the hard case I ordered.

I tried contacting Wildhunter by email, online chat and phone with no response. When I eventually got through the following day, I was told the online team weren’t working and someone would call me back on Monday. Nobody did, so I called again and requested a refund. This was refused, and I was told I had to wait for the incorrect item to arrive, complete a return form and send it back.

I made it clear that I wasn’t prepared to deal with returning an item I had never ordered and asked them to contact the courier to cancel the delivery. This went on for several days and multiple phone calls, with the usual “someone will call you back” response. Eventually, they arranged for a courier to collect the item.

Despite the fact that the mistake was entirely theirs, I was still made to wait for my refund while they sorted out their own error. Three weeks after placing my original order, and after multiple phone calls, emails and web chats, I finally received my refund.

Unfortunately, common sense doesn’t seem to be very common among the staff at Wildhunter. Basic customer service training would definitely come in handy.

Very disappointing experience with Wildhunter Athlone. A fishing reel broke on its very first use, yet the shop refused a refund because I no longer had the paper receipt, despite the purchase being confirmed on CCTV. Staff were rude and unhelpful. After several attempts to resolve this directly, I reported the matter to the CCPC.

Just rang the store for an inquiry and they just hung up the phone before I got two words out.if they don't want business far enough!

Fast delivery, safely packaged, I got exactly what I wanted, the Shimano Vandford 4000gx reel is amazing, and the W4 spin 3m 40g rod is perfect for my needs, I highly recommend Willdhunter.ie

Extremely quick delivery. A while ago, I ordered a Humminbird XPLORE 9 fishfinder. It was on Thursday, and I received the package first thing Saturday morning. Now I've ordered an SD memory card with pre-loaded maps of all the lakes and rivers in Ireland. The package arrived the next day.

I purchased a spinning reel for my son, it arrived defective( anti reverse switch broken) After multiple emails with no response, multiple phone calls with the promise of a callback with solution….. I’m still waiting.
Beware if buying from uk postcode as no way to return defective items.

Everything came packaged in way that was overkill and i love it, they truly cared about my package.

Quick delivery and they keep in touch by email ,and if for some reason there is a delay in postage they get in touch by phone and always polite.
