The Labs H2O Distiller Seems To Be A Great Piece Of Equipment.
I have been using my water distiller for several months and I have no complaints. I make about 5 gallons a week. The one gallon distilling tank is efficient and easy to clean and maintain and the water tastes really clean and pristine.
However, if you have a family you should consider getting a unit that has a larger tank.

Thanks for the feedback Maryam. What you are seeing is normal. The PH of distilled water is as close to neutral as possible, (7.0), as virtually everything has been removed from it that would cause it to be acidic or alkaline. Note, however, that pure water, when exposed to the atmosphere, will take in carbon dioxide, some of which reacts with water to form carbonic acid and H+, thereby lowering the pH to about 5.7. Also, neutral pH at 25 degrees C is not exactly 7. pH is an experimental value, so it has an associated error. The pH of water gets smaller with higher temperatures. For example, at 50 degrees C, pH of water is 6.55 - 0.01. This means that a diluted solution is neutral at 50 degrees C when its pH is around 6.55 and that a pH of 7.00 is basic. In other words, it is difficult to get an accurate pH reading, especially in PURE DISTILLED water. The Environmental Protection Agency says the following: "Pure distilled water would have tested neutral, but pure distilled water is not easily obtained because carbon dioxide in the air around us mixes, or dissolves, in the water, making it somewhat acidic. The pH of distilled water is between 5.6 and 7. To neutralize distilled water, add about 1/8 teaspoon baking soda, stir well, and check the pH of the water with a pH indicator."

Quality Product
After doing some extensive searching online, I purchased this distiller because it has a minimum of plastic components. In fact the carafe handle and the cover are the only pieces of plastic. I love that the basin itself is metal. It is easy to clean, and easy to descale using the citric acid. I run my machine daily a few to several times a day and am no longer buying bottled water which saves me money and decreases plastic in the landfill, that alone is a great reason to buy this distiller!

Good price, good product, reasonable shipping. It's the real Durastill filters at the best price I could find. The only trouble was that I wanted to buy two packs instead of four, but I will eventually use them all anyway.

my water distiller is my favorite…
my water distiller is my favorite tool for keeping my water safe. I couldn't be happier with it. Easy to use, easy to clean. I use it almost every day. I was considering buying another just to keep on hand in case my first one stopped working. I bought the stainless steal model. It does one quart at a time. I think everybody should get and use one.

The water distiller works great and is easy to use. Cleanup is rinsing the water tank of the residue left behind from the distilling process.

Clean with a scrubby and a damp cloth after soaking bottom of unit with vinegar for five minutes, and unit will be ready to go for another batch of water.

This is a great distiller
This is a great distiller. I love the break-proof container. Easy to clean. I had a different model with a glass container and it broke within a few uses. This model is VERY user friendly. I was using a plastic gallon jug of distilled water daily. It makes me feel good to know I am not throwing away a single use gallon jug every day. Good for the environment!
