My customer service experience with…

My customer service experience with this company has been terrible. I originally requested to cancel my order on May 18, 2022, and as of today June 14 I am STILL waiting for the refund. My attempts to contact the company regarding the status of my refund have gone ignored, so I do not know what else to do to get their attention. Their entire business model is holding on to your funds as long as possible so they can earn interest on it, then eventually refund the money when (surprise!) they can't source the watch. Can you imagine if just 1000 people placed orders for a Rolex at $10k each, how much interest they could make on that in 3-6 months time? Meanwhile you have essentially given them an interest free loan while you wait for nothing, and you agreed to it in their terms of service. However once I cancel the order they are no longer entitled to continue holding the funds, but that is exactly what they are doing.

Response to Watch Rapport: I have been checking my account activity daily and there has been no refund. If you indeed sent the refund 3 days after I requested it on May 18, then something clearly went wrong and the refund never got credited to my account. Can you please investigate? Thank you.

Update 6/27: Still no refund.

Update 7/5: Still no refund.

I bought an AP Tantalum

I bought an AP Tantalum. It took me months
to get it. First, one separate link was missing.
Second the communication was a nightmare.
Third the watch was not waterproof, as described. The watchmaker found that there
was a little crack, where the water came in.
Fourth even today, no reaction to take care for a 10.000 $ watch !

My impression: Dishonest and/or Incompetent

I ordered a Grand Seiko SBGM221 at a great price through their site. Then for the next month I periodically would get updates like "we haven't heard from the seller yet" then "we are in contact with the seller and the process is moving along." After a month I started growing concerned and reached out for status updates. Each time I contacted their support team, the story changed - "the seller has not sent the watch for authentication," "the authentication team has the watch and are inspecting," "we can't get a hold of the authentication team," "we have not heard from the seller yet and authentication still has not received it." I asked multiple times for someone on their support team to pick up a phone and call the authentication team or the seller to find out what exactly is going on, and instead I received lip service - "I have a message in to our authentication team, I'll be following up with you tomorrow, my supervisor is looking into this" but each time I would have to follow up myself and continued to receive the run-around.

Finally, after 2 months, when it seemed they had run out of excuses, they admitted defeat and said the watch could not be sourced. Even then they changed stories between "the seller never sent the watch and we never heard from them," and "the watch did not pass inspection and was either inauthentic or damaged." Well, which is it?

In my opinion: Either their support team lies about status updates without knowing what's going on, or their 3rd party authentication team lies about receiving the watch before they actually take possession, but it is my impression that everyone involved is so incompetent they shouldn't be operating a lemonade stand, let alone a business selling luxury items worth thousands of dollars.

Literally the only part of the process that was quick and smooth was the refund, which I received 2 days after submitting on their end. 1 star for the refund, no stars for the rest of the experience. Go to Chrono24 or another reputable site.

EDIT - because Trustpilot doesn't allow me to respond to Watch Rapport's reply. Clearly from your response, you did not read my entire review beyond noticing that it took 2 months to find out the order wouldn't be fulfilled. The main issue is that your customer support seemed less than forthright in saying authentication received the watch and it was being inspected, then told me it was never received, then flip flopped on their story a few more times. I'm still not sure what to believe. And to make matters worse, they would routinely send form responses that clearly showed they had not read my message (similar to what you've done here).

Different process but, trusted source for watches.

Great selection of watches. Purchased a new Rolex for thousands less than any of the other few trusted watch internet sites and was delivered exactly per the watch listing. Customer service was very good - both email responses and getting an associate on the phone when I needed. The transaction took a little longer than was initially expected but, the watch was received as listed. This is not your traditional online - buying from the seller transaction - Watchrapport is acting in a third party capacity with the controls in place to ensure an “as agreed” transaction takes place. I would buy using Watchrapport again.

Highly recommend! Great communication!

The people at Watch Rapport are very good! I purchased a Grand Seiko from them a beautiful watch but realized it was the wrong one. I asked for a refund and cancellation of the order and they quickly responded and maintained communications until execution of the refund a few days later. I would absolutely do business with them going forward and recommend them to anyone looking for a high quality watch at bargain prices!!

I had one of the worst experiences

I had one of the worst experiences. I bought a watch, it took Watch rapport a month and a half after they charged my credit card to send it to me. When I got it, something just did not feel right, watch was not as heavy as should have been, there wasn't anything showing a authenticity check was done by Watch rapport. I took the watch to a local jeweler and he told me the watch was not authentic (his experience opinion). I did not want to pay for a authenticity report after what I had already paid for the watch. Something was not right! I can tell just by looking at it. So I decided to return it, they first sent me a label with incomplete return adress so USPS return it back to me and took me 2 weeks for sending me a correct return label! After sending the watch again they charged me 10% of restocking fee! and took them a month after 50 phone calls on my side to refund my credit card. Do not buy anything here, for me is a scam! They say they check and authenticate watches, not true!

I love my new Rolex DateJust II

I love my new Rolex DateJust II. WatchRapport communicated with me thru out the purchase process. The watch came in exactly as shown. They did send me a full group of photos when they received it. They were the only online retailer that allowed for a credit card purchase of a high dollar amount. Which was very important to me for my protection when spending a large amount of money. Every other retailer wanted me to wire them funds, which was a little to nerve wracking for me. I would highly recommend them and will do business with them again.

Fraudulent listings.

This site ripped my copyrighted photos from my website and is listing my, quite rare, watches on their site (for less, of course) as if they have them in stock. Frustrating, and as my photos are copyrighted, illegal.

Great customer service at WatchRapport. There was an issue with my watch when they received the watch from the Seller and they were able to source a more recently dated/purchased watch for me within 24 hours and mailed it overnight. Will buy from them again in the near future!

I paid for a new Rolex submariner hulk…

I paid for a new Rolex submariner hulk via bank transfer. No watch for over 30 days then when I repeatedly called they set a tentative delivery date, which was missed. Only then I was informed the watch is no longer available. I had to settle for a pre-owned one that is lacking the hang tags and an authentication certificate (ebay provides them). Fearing the worst, I settled for the pre-owned hulk to cut my loses and moved on. Don’t get me wrong, I really like the 2017 hulk I received from them but it wasn’t the new advertised one. Watch Rapport Should sell me a new hulk for the initial agreed to price and I’d be glad to pay for it.

Worst experience ever

Worst experience ever. I purchased a Franck Muller watch through WatchRapport's platform for $12k. They gave the appearance that they already had access to the watch with the private dealer and could secure the watch.

After they collected my $12k, they then for the first time disclose that they have to now go search for that watch on the open market and would get back to me in 2 weeks.

Fraudulently, they said that they would secure the watch but never did anything to prevent this watch from being sold right from underneath me after they had collected my $12k.

I called numerous time to speak with Watch Rapport Customer service and to my surprise they don't even have a direct line but use a 3rd party call center, who would try to transfer my calls, but many times there was nobody available even during normal business hours. I called them and nobody ever call me back.

I sent an email and the response from them was that they had to wait until my payment was "paid in full," but I confirmed with my credit card company that they had collected the $12k 5 days ago, and this representative was just making that up to stall for more time to source the watch.

They also claim that they have a US office, but all calls to their customer service go to foreign countries like Nigeria. This is a shady company and I would never do business with them again.

I purchased a Rolex watch for $7800…

I purchased a Rolex watch for $7800 from Watch Rapport. All the requirements were met and the money was withdrawn from my bank. I then receive a notification that I missed filling out the credit card/debit card charge authorization application. This gives them the approval to charge my debit card and without it they can not charge my card. This was explained to me when I questioned what it was for. Remember they already withdrew my money from my bank but are now telling me they can’t charge my card without this authorization being filled out. Then they send me the application they want front and back of card which showes my signature and security code. Even my bank said that is a huge red flag. I cancelled order on Dec 1st. Was notified that refund was sent, yet I still have received no refund.

Literally an hr after this post I magically got notification of funds deposited into my account.

And to Watch Rapport, I did read terms and conditions. Have you? That’s a cop out answer and my rating is not changing. I’ll even add that your purchase process is horrible and even Wells Fargo and Chase banks agreed with me, that requesting to send pictures of the back of a credit or debit card is overstepping privacy protection and many fraud policies. So you can try to make me look like the bad guy all u want. You stuck to non of your own claims, your customer service tells buyers one thing but do something else and I can add to my watch collection threw a company that isn’t sketchy when you look closer. And for the record, I’m in my 50’s, have a watch collection with over 300 watches. I have every thing from Tag to Tiffany including 7 Rolex watches. I have purchased all but 2 of those 7 on line and never once was asked to send pictures of the back of my credit card. And everyone I have asked both personnel or professional, felt that was way to risky and agreed with me.

ATTENTION they are scammers !!! They demand money for something (a watch) that they don't have and as of the invoice date they can't get it. So what do they demand payment for? It doesn't change their terms of use because it violates the law. Can't demand money for nothing (worthless promise of nothing). HOW CAN A SELLER DETERMINE A FAIR PRICE FOR A PRODUCT HE DOESN'T HAVE??? If necessary, I can share the history of conversations with them. I warn everyone !!!

Horrible experience

Horrible experience. Ordered a Breitling Superocean a month and 1/2 ago. No watch still. Called everyday the past 2 weeks and only get receptionist who tells you that no "specialist" is available. She takes your info says is "urgent" and that someone will get back to you. NO ONE EVER DOES. Horrible, horrible. Just cancelled the order, and now wait to get my money back. I don't trust this company. I will never do business and recommend that you go to a reputable company (even if you pay a little more). At least you will receive some customer service.

I ordered a Rolex Daytona on their…

I ordered a Rolex Daytona on their Boutique preorder , charged my card than they returned the funds after I funded it with 0 percent credit card term but the credit card company still add 4% points for that transaction so it costs me $600 . After many calls , e mails I never got a exact explanation of what happened when I finally got through to somebody . No call backs nothing from Watch Rapport or official response . Just a waste of time and money . I guess the good thing is O got my money back bad thing is it was a waste of time and money . I guess the deal was too good to be true . Now they don’t even have the preorder available .
