I do not recommend this seller. Very disappointing experience. I strongly recommend being extremely careful before paying any deposit to this company.

I purchased a Rolex GMT-Master II 126715CHNR from Watches Together Italy for €36,500.

I initially paid €10,000 by bank transfer as an advance payment (“acconto”) to reserve the watch before travelling to Italy. Unfortunately, due to a family bereavement, I could no longer make the trip and asked for the advance payment to be refunded.

The seller categorically refused, claiming that the €10,000 was a non-refundable deposit. However, their own invoice described it as an “acconto per futura cessione”, and I had never been informed or agreed in writing beforehand that this payment would be non-refundable.

What made the situation particularly unpleasant was the attitude during the discussion. Instead of trying to find a reasonable solution, I was told in substance that my personal circumstances could be a “fairy tale” from their perspective. After having already transferred €10,000, I found this response particularly inappropriate and distrustful.

Faced with the possibility of losing €10,000, I eventually decided to complete the purchase.

The payment process then became unnecessarily difficult. From the beginning, we had discussed paying the remaining balance by credit card, and the seller had specifically used credit-card fees as a reason for maintaining the €36,500 selling price. Yet when it came time to pay, I was repeatedly encouraged to make another bank transfer instead in order for the seller to avoid approximately 1.5–2% card fees.

I explained several times that I could not pay the remaining €26,500 by bank transfer and therefore needed to use the credit-card payment method we had previously discussed.

To be completely fair, the watch was ultimately shipped and the transaction was completed. I am not claiming otherwise. My review concerns the way the transaction was handled, the lack of clarity surrounding the €10,000 advance payment, the attitude when I requested a refund, and the difficulties surrounding a payment method that had previously been agreed.

For a €36,500 luxury watch purchase, I expected transparency, professionalism and a much more reassuring customer experience.

My advice to future buyers: before sending any deposit, obtain written confirmation of whether it is refundable, exactly what cancellation conditions apply, and which payment methods will actually be accepted for the remaining balance. Keep everything in writing.

Had a chance to visit WT store in Milan today. Really nice vibe, a watch lover’s haven. Giuseppe was quite friendly and easy to work with. We came to a deal on a lovely Explorer II. When I got home, I realized I needed one more link and he graciously agreed to send it to me by mail. Great service all around (and some nice goodies!). I’ll surely be back.

Ho acquistato da lui ieri e mi sono trovato benissimo, molto soddisfatto. Ottimo.
