I purchased a $150 Vanilla Prepaid Gift…

I purchased a $150 Vanilla Prepaid Gift Card and checked the balance the same day. It showed $150 available.
Less than one hour later, without using the card anywhere and without sharing the details with anyone, the balance suddenly became $0.
I immediately contacted Vanilla customer support. I called multiple times and sent many emails. They opened a case file for me and clearly told me that a replacement card with the same $150 balance would be sent.
Now more than ONE YEAR has passed — and I never received any replacement card, no refund, and no real help. After all the promises, they simply stopped responding.
This is unacceptable and dishonest. You cannot trust the staff or the company behind Vanilla cards.
From my experience, the money was effectively stolen, and the customer support did nothing but delay and lie.
⚠️ Do NOT buy Vanilla Gift Cards.
You risk losing your money with no protection and no accountability.

Don't buy this card. Does not work for international purchases!

I purchased a Vanilla Prepaid card for CAD100 for the purpose of enabling my 72 year old mother to purchase meals during her 11 hour layover at Frankfurt airport. The information on the card packaging and what I could see online gave me very indication that it is accepted by most international merchants. We even made a purchase in Canada at the departure airport to ensure it was working. Once she arrived at Frankfurt airport this Vanilla prepaid card was not accepted by any of the food merchants. I called their help line 5 times! Even spoke to a supervisor after insisting and refusing any other option. No suggested solution worked. The one representative kept saying sorry for the inconvenience and that the Vanilla prepaid card will not be accepted by most merchants seeing that it is an anonymous card! What the heck! What is the purpose of this card then?!?
I will not be buying any Vanilla prepaid card again and do not recommend it. Absolutely terrible experience!

Purchased a $500 gift card. No one accepts it.

Purchased a $500 gift card. Everywhere I try to use the activated card online refuses to honor it. Contacting the merchant informs me they don't accept them. Now I have a useless card. I called Vanilla and waited a while to be helped, and was hung up on immediately when I said the card was not being accepted. So now what do I do? If I could rate this zero, that would be fitting. This feels more like credit card fraud. Buyer beware.
Update: I have filed an official complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Pending the outcome, I will decide to file a criminal fraud charge against them. This has to be stopped.

Found ONE place that takes this card - Amazon.
Still, I will NEVER use Vanilla again for anything. I was treated with contempt and snickers by their last rep. The sooner these crooks are gone, the better.

Duplicate charge error with no help from

I attempted to purchase an egift card on 3/28. At the point of checkout, the website crashed. A short time later, I attempted the purchase again successfully. However when checking my MasterCard used for the purchase, their was a duplicate charge. This is the 2nd time it occurred over the last year. First problem is they hide the CS # where you can connect to a real person- you simply get referred to the website and disconnected. After much research I did find the # for a human being, but was told that there is nothing the can do, they keep no record of orders, only successfully delivered cards. They can't track issues from their website crashes that negatively impact the company. They told me my only recourse was to contact my credit card company to file a dispute. I did, but it will take 2 weeks and I don't think it's fair that I'm out money due the Vanilla Gift cards site being unstable or a lack of caring about customer service

Definitely a SCAM

Definitely a SCAM. Was given a $50 card as a thank you gift. Was not able to use it at 2 different restaurants. Tried to me contact ‘customer service’ eventually reached someone who was very difficult to understand and just read at high speed from some kind of instructions. DO NOT buy one of their cards total waste of money

FRAUDSTERS — SCAM COMPANY - They should be SHUT DOWN.

Purchased a card from vanillagift.com to use for a transaction over the phone, and it never worked. Not for a single transaction.

Then it took about 90 minutes of haranguing the sales phone number before they gave me a SECOND phone number with exceedingly complicated instructions as to how to reach a person I could speak with.

Finally I reached someone who said she could process the refund, but the method was to take all of my information and then say it would take three weeks for the refund to be processed.

A legitimate business does not take three weeks to process a refund. A legitimate business does not take 90 minutes to reach someone who can

FYI, I am a real customer and my order number is 006193413.

This is clearly a scam operation, and I'm reporting it as fraud to my bank.

Don't use Vanillagift.com, don't use Vanillavisa.com. Don't trust them with your money.
