This is my first—and hopefully my last—review of any company. I don’t usually share information online, but I feel obligated to warn others about our experience. The service is extremely disappointing.

From the start, we encountered a complete lack of respect and responsibility. Deadlines were ignored, communication was poor, and every time we called, we were met with an irreverent attitude.

The contract was signed and paid in full on July 8, 2025. The company had two weeks to return and verify measurements, but instead we waited over a month and had to make several phone calls before they finally came. After that, installation was supposed to be completed within two weeks. Another month passed with no updates—no calls, no messages, no explanation.

When we contacted them again, the same person who always answers the phone acted “surprised” that nothing had been done, promised to speak with the manager, and later gave us a new date. This cycle repeated multiple times: each time they claimed shock, each time they promised a new deadline, and each time they failed to deliver.

By November, after several missed dates, I requested a refund. Instead of honoring that, they gave us yet another promise: installation between November 21 and 23. Today is November 23, and once again, no one showed up.

This company has proven to be unreliable and unprofessional. They repeatedly fail to meet their responsibilities and show clear disrespect toward customers. My recommendation: do not use their services unless you are prepared to go through the same frustrating experience we did.

The positive reviews were fake 🥲. They took our deposit, promised they would come out in a few weeks, and then ghosted us. We have called repeatedly and spent 3 months trying to get them to do the absolute bare minimum of the pre-install appointment. Hurricane season is here and our money was tied up with them so we could not go to someone else- so we have no hurricane shutters and no money to get them now.
This place is definitely a scam. I will never understand where men find the audacity, but I wish I did- because I'd probably find my deposit there too.

My original order was with Hurricane Shutters Online (HSO) 8/7/2023
After 3 weeks I tried calling - line disconnected - alarm bells go off.
Drive to shop at 6424 Pinecastle Blvd, meet Haguer Wiltshire - father of Kurt owner of HSO, tells me Kurt is sick, but expect my order in Monday 28th, didn't arrive - alarm bells again as the shop was a dump stuff thrown everywhere, wondered how anyone ran a business like that (guess they don't).
Regular calls as the weeks went by all manner of excuses.
Threaten to file fraudulent charge with credit card company.
Friday 29th, calls me, order is on truck, should be available Monday - it isn't, now no contact.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS with US Discount Shutters or HURRICANE SHUTTERS ONLINE, they are con artists they have no intention of providing anything!

The 5 stars are fake reviews. Please read all of the complaints and do not do business with this company!! With all of the storms, now is an excellent time to remind people...if you are thinking of getting storm shutters after this, PLEASE stay away from US DISCOUNT SHUTTERS. They have stolen over $12,000 from us, and we are now fighting them to get our money back. It has been well over a year since we paid them, and my last conversation with the owner (Kurt Anthony, "Production Manager") was to speak to his attorney. Doing more research AFTER paying them (I know, stupid), we now know that they have done this to so many people. Please warn your Florida friends and family. They are still in business and will send this nice guy to spend an entire day measuring, take a large deposit, and then disappear. After giving the check, we would call every few weeks for an install date with a different promise each time, and then finally, nothing and no returned calls. We had a thief in our home and around our family, which is terrible!!! We wanted to protect our home when storms came, but we opened the door and let these evil people in instead. They are taking money from families and elderly people! BEWARE. And SHARE SHARE SHARE!!!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! IT IS A SCAM. Some of the complaints are in the comments. That's only a few. There are WAY more!!!! Please...all the people who have been scammed, email me your information so that it is all together. These people are going to be facing serious jail time for fraud!

They took my 50% deposit in February, came for 'final measurement' in June, now won't communicate. Just sent demand letter, next stop is court.

If you've been decieved by US Discount Shutters then read this. I hope the publicly available info I am providing helps you to get restitution. A search on the Orange County Gov Fast Track website does not show US Discount Shutters LLC holding a license. But it does show US Discount Contracting LLC holds contractor license #SCC131152488 since 9-10-21 for aluminum and concrete and the applicant is Scott D. Stewart at 6424 Pine Castle Blvd Suite B, Orlando, FL 32809; phone 407-908-3213. DPBR lists the main address (Zillow shows this is a residence) at 3049 CHINA BERRY CT KISSIMMEE  Florida  34746 (Osceola County) and a license date of 04/26/21. Looking up this business on Bisprofiles.com shows the officers are Kurt A Wiltshire and Scott D. Stewart and they incorporated on March 18, 2021 with the registered number L21000127383. It also shows the registered agent is LegalCorp Solutions LLC, 3440 W Hollywood Blvd. Ste 415, Hollywood, FL 33021. Under “See Also” there is a link from US Discount Contracting LLC profile to US Discount Shutters LLC profile. There, Haguer Wiltshire is listed as the manager. It would seem there is some sort of scam going on here, I think. You may file complaints against both business with: FL OAG, FL DPBR, BBB of Southeast FL, SeniorsVsCrime website, FL Dept of Agriculture & Consumer Services, your local county construction licensing board, the Orange County and Osceola County licensing boards, and Broward County Consumer Protection Office. Also, you can file a lien against the company for the cost of all the windows as the job is not complete -- download the form on Notice to Owners of Florida. Additionally, you may bring a civil action through the courts for damages, attorney fees, and court costs under Florida's Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act. The Florida Bar offers a free referral service or you can represent yourself in small claims court. The fee for filing is well worth the serious presentation and often settled before court. A judge is not going to side with this business and they know that! Also seniors aged 60 or older can call the Florida Senior Legal Helpline. And maybe call the local news stations with their consumer investigative reporters. As for me, it's been more than a year and my job is not complete. The company will tell you its because of supply shortages due to Covid -- it's not!!! And Kurt Anthony Wiltshire will not even return my calls, text, or emails. Look at the complaints on BBB, and horrible reviews on Google, TrustPilot, SiteJabber and Yelp. And be sure to post your complaint on these sites, too. I know that upsets Kurt, plus you'll warn others not to do business with them.

We ordered a roll down shutter for our lanai on 11 July and were told that it would take 4 to 6 weeks for delivery. The sales representative was very friendly and answered all our questions. At the end of August, the company contacted us to inform us that installation would begin on the week of September 9 - 13. When they didn't show up on the 9th and 10th of September, we called the company to find out the exact time and day because we couldn’t wait around without knowing when they were going to show up. The receptionist told us she would pass the message to the project lead and that he would get back to us. He never did. We called back on the 11th of September and spoke with the receptionist, who informed us again that she would pass the message to the supervisor and “hopefully” he’d call us back. We said we didn’t want to hope—we needed to speak with the supervisor because we could not continue to sit at home waiting for the installation team without knowing if or when they would show up. The receptionist got upset and told us that “she was only the receptionist and couldn’t do more than pass the message.” The so-called supervisor never contacted us.
We decided to contact the sales representative who sold us the shutter and he confirmed to us that the installation team would be there on Friday, 13 September, at around 11:00am. Again, they didn’t show up and we were not informed. We called the company again and were told that one of the workers called in sick and that was the reason why they couldn’t make it, so they rescheduled us for the following Monday and provided us with the contact number for the installation team leader. On Monday, the team leader contacted us and told us that they were tied up with another job and would try to make it the next day by 11:00am. On Tuesday afternoon we contacted the team leader to find out if they were still coming. He told us they would definitely be there on Wednesday before 1:00pm.
When they arrived on Wednesday, they were totally unprepared and couldn’t finish the job, although the team leader had promised us the job would be finished by late afternoon. They didn’t have enough screws to attach the shutter to the motorized bar nor electrical cable to connect the motor to the electrical junction box. The team leader had to go to Home Depot to get the missing parts, but the electrical cable he bought was not long enough to reach the junction box. At one point we asked them whether they had done that type of job before because they debated among themselves how to proceed.
At 5:00pm the installer/electrician said he had to leave because he had to pick up his daughter and he would return on Friday to finish the job. We were doubtful that he would be back on Friday, but he did return—by himself. We wondered how he would finish the job himself, considering that the shutter cover needed to be installed and it would not be possible for one person to do it. To avoid any additional delay, we decided to help him finish the job. Within 15 minutes after the job was completed, we received a call from the company requesting payment of the remaining balance. They were extremely efficient in collecting their money, but not very responsive to their customer needs.
To summarize, US Discount Shutters LLC is extremely disorganized and not very professional. It was obvious to us that the people working for them, with the exception of the sales representative, are not professionals. This said, the quality of the roll down shutter appears to be good and we are happy with the end result.
