I applied online and received my new license in the mail after a week.

Surprised how quick it came. Definitely recommend using them.

License showed up in the post yesterday, just a few days after applying. Dead easy process.

I submitted the form and that was it. Licence came straight through.

Was confused by one part of the form and their team cleared it up straight away.

SCAM!! They charged £39.99 to update my wife’s home address, when you can do it for free on the Gov website. They make the process look like the Gov page with the green button. I called up and spoke to their services and wanted to understand what service they provide for £39.99 instead of me doing it free on the Gov website, to which she said some people find the government website “intimidating”.
This should be illegal!

Did the update and forgot about it. It just arrived a few days later like clockwork..

Honestly, I was expecting the usual delays, but this time was surprisingly quick. I submitted everything online, and the new licence arrived just four days later, much faster than in the past. Still, the process could be clearer and communication along the way would make it feel more reliable overall.

SCAM company. Pretends its the DVLA website. Got charged for a service i could do on the real government website for free. Really disappointing. How are they allowed to do a website using government logos.

Total scam. I didn't even know I'd not been to the DVLA site until a £39 payment appeared on my bank statement! They must have had a fake site that looked identical and presented NO information about additional charges etc

I wanted to update my address with the DVLA and this website looks like it is a DVLA/ Gov website but it isn't. They will charge you £39 for a service that is free of charge with the DVLA. I have reported this to Trading Standards as it is a scam and it is deliberately misleading.
Please do not use Driver Update as the DVLA do not charge for a change of address.

The website appears at the top of search results, mimicking a government site, and preys on people during stressful tasks (like moving house). I realised my mistake immediately after payment and contacted customer support to cancel—but they refused, falsely claiming the transaction was "already processed." There’s no express service, no added value, and no refunds—just a dishonest scheme exploiting confusion. If you’ve been tricked, demand a refund via your bank and report them to Trading Standards. Avoid this company at all costs!

They've set up a sponsored link and made their site look like the DVLA site to trick people into paying for a free DVLA service.

In the midst of renewing my insurance I went to update the address on my driving license. On Google, this was the first page that appeared and as they closely imitate government webpages (the classic green button), I continued and ended up paying £39. Immediately afterwards my partner made me aware that this is a free service offered by the DVLA so I contacted Update Driver to cancel and refund.

Of course, Update Driver parred me off repeatedly. Eventually I reached out to my bank who opened an inquiry and managed to get a refund on my behalf. So if you've been scammed by this company, contact your bank!

If you do a search for DVLA change of address, this site pops up. I stupidly clicked on the update online link and found myself paying £39 for something I could have done for free!

Today someone told me you don't pay for an address change so I contacted my bank who says they are powerless to stop the payment. I, like others, appear to have been mislead by a company who portrays themselves as offering a professional hassle free service.

The DVLA have instructed me to report to Trading Standards, so I would urge anyone who hasn't received a refund to do the same.

This is a scam. Their website comes up first on a DVLA search. You think you are updating your details through the DVLA, but you're not. They are charging £39, when it is actually free with DVLA.

Yes, it's a scam for something free, do not use.
I too was fooled by the website as it all seemed gov.uk based, was sceptical about the payment but in this day and age where everyone is charging for nothing I thought the DVLA was just out to make a quick buck from us all, just like everyone else.
Please be aware and make sure you are on the correct website before handing over any payment, if you got as far as you did on this site, it's no different to the official site and costs nowt.
