What should have been a simple GPU chip issue ended up taking over a year to resolve.
During that time, my car was left sitting outside the business, exposed to the elements. The delay meant my registration expired and the car became deregistered, while I was still paying comprehensive insurance the entire time.
Even after the detailing, the interior now has a strong musty smell that wasn’t there before. There was also condensation on the inside of the car, which was witnessed by others. The driver’s electric window has become unreliable and only works intermittently, which wasn’t an issue prior. The stereo now only works out of one speaker and barely at that.
I also had to replace the battery after it went dead, despite being told it had been replaced with a new one. It raises concerns about what may have happened to the vehicle while it was sitting there waiting for the original issue to be fixed.
To make matters worse, the original Holden manual that was in the car is now missing.
At that point, I had no confidence in taking the car back, as I was concerned it would lead to more issues or another long delay. I had to re-register the vehicle at my own cost on top of everything else.
Communication throughout was poor, and I was constantly chasing updates with no clear answers. After all that time, I’ve ended up worse off than when I started.
Would not recommend.

On 5 January 2026, my vehicle was submitted for a diagnosis for an engine management light. It was diagnosed that the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) was deemed faulty. The technician, Chris, provided two options for this repair, but ultimately recommended a supplier that provided after market parts that were of good quality. We agreed to this on his recommendation and the vehicle was booked in for this repair on 16 January 2026 at a cost of almost $6000.00. Within 24 hours following the repair, the engine management light came back on and we returned the vehicle to Ultra Tune Christies Beach. We were then advised that the vehicle required an additional repair of the Particulate Matter Sensor. Again, the vehicle was repaired at a cost of $890.00 to ourselves. Again, within 24 hours, the engine management light appeared. Again, we booked it in the for diagnosis and was told that it required a replacement of a NOx sensor and the EGR valve, resulting in further cost of $2,186.29 to ourselves. However, within 12 hours of these repairs being undertaken, the engine management light returned. The technician then suspected that the after market part was in fact sub-standard and was the cause of the issue. The technician advised that he would need to order a DPF pressuring tool to test the DPF properly. We were astonished that this motor repairer did not possess the correct tools or equipment to carry out the work competently, and this was not disclosed to us prior to the repairs.
They take jobs on, don't have the correct tools, charge 100% mark up on sub-standard parts and then refuse a refund for faulty parts unless you pay more first!

Ultra Tune Carlisle WA Manager Leroy was very friendly & obliging when I booked my car in for a service and air conditioner re-gas at a reasonable price.Also provided a curtesy car.
took my car in for a routine service…
took my car in for a routine service (oil change ect) and picked it up the next day with them saying it had a slight oil leak but will monitor (which it never had before). stating driving it to work the next day and it started to over heat so i stopped and let it cool down for two hours and then drove the car back to ultra tune (only 5 minutes away luckily with no oil or coolant loss)and handed it back to them.
They said the needed to replace the cooling system so i said ok and picked the car up after that. The next day it did the same thing and handed it back for them to fix and when they took it for a test drive after supposed repairs they said the motor must have a crack.
The car ran perfectly before i handed it to them and they are the only one who have serviced this vehicle since i've had it.
I've been a good costumer to them for years and always paid cash for the services, but to be treated like this and for them not to take accountability is disgraceful.
I would advise anyone USE THEM AT YOUR OWN RISK, because they are terrible AVOID!AVOIDAVOID!.
If I could leave zero stars
If I could leave zero stars, I would. After paying over $5,000 for repairs at Ultra Tune, I expected professionalism, accountability, and at the very least, basic respect. Instead, I was met with patronising, dismissive, and outright rude behaviour from Tania at head office.
Rather than listening to a genuine customer concern regarding a repair that clearly failed and has now escalated to engine failure, Tania spoke down to me as though I was the problem. Her tone was arrogant, her attitude hostile, and her refusal to acknowledge Ultra Tune’s responsibility was appalling.
This isn’t just about poor customer service—it’s about a company taking thousands of dollars from a paying client, delivering substandard work, and then hiding behind a head office representative who treats customers with contempt.
No one should have to endure this level of unprofessionalism after such a significant financial outlay. Ultra Tune’s so-called “warranty of works” appears worthless if this is how claims are handled.
I strongly urge anyone considering Ultra Tune for repairs to think twice. If this is the standard of customer care at the top, it speaks volumes about the company as a whole.

We’ve been loyal customers for many years but unfortunately our recent experience was extremely disappointing and has left reconsidering future visits.
When we went to collect our vehicle the final price charged was higher than the original quote provided.
Naturally we questioned the discrepancy, only to be meet with unprofessional and unacceptable behaviour from the Manager, instead of calmly explaining or resolving the issue, he became visibly frustrated slamming down the computer mouse and refused to print the invoice until we made payment.
This kind of treatment is not what we expect especially years of being a loyal customer.
Respectful communication and transparency is what any customer deserves.

I contacted this shop for a re-gas
I contacted this shop for a re-gas, as my car’s A/C was not cooling properly. When I arrived, the mechanic asked what was happening, and I explained that I had a re-gas six months ago, but now it had stopped cooling again. He then told me that if the problem wasn’t just low gas, the service wouldn’t fix it and that I should take my car to a specialized A/C repair shop instead.
Their website states that they "inspect every part of your car’s air conditioning" before re-gassing, including checking for "possible leaks in the pipes and the volume of air coming out of your vents." But in my case, none of that was done. Instead of troubleshooting the issue as advertised, they simply refused to check the system and sent me elsewhere.
If the service only covers re-gassing and nothing else, they should state that clearly instead of claiming to diagnose and fix issues. In the end, I felt like the communication was misleading, and I wasted my time going there
UltraTune Maroochydore - You cannot go wrong
Have used a number of service centres, including private, chain/franchise and dealership over the years. UltraTune Maroochydore has been hands down the very best. They have serviced all of our vehicles (Toyota, Hyundai and VW) over many years. Honest, good pricing, good communication and friendly service by all staff. The family that owns it has been running it for several decades. Everyone I know that uses them cannot speak highly enough of them. I have no reservations with recommending them to anyone.
ultra tune review
I took my car for a service, they advised I needed to have my back brakes fixed as worn down and needed to be done in the next few weeks. I asked how much this would cost and he said approx $400. As I work in Murwillumbah I would not have been able to take my car to Ultra Tune, I advised the consultant I would have to take my car to an alternate mechanic due to work. He then explained that the reason they charge $400 for brakes is that they machine them. I asked if there was another way. He said yes, some mechanics just replace the brake pads. I then booked an appointment at an alternative mechanic, had my brakes fixed today and they charged my $200. I am disappointed as I feel people should have a choice if there is a less expensive option. I'm al single mum trying to make ends meet. Also, they should ask if you want the roadside assist option as I am already paying for this through insurance. I know they say its free but clearly, we are paying for the insurance through their high prices.

touched my distributor now the car unstable in idling. took it back not much difference only now doesn't stall.
They're incompetent and lack of attention. a job that should of have taken half a day, they took all day still incomplete.
they start on your car then stop to work on another car. i don't recommend going back.
the term buyers beware applies to mechanics like ultratune. its at your own risk. be warned.

Main man is an absolute monster
After 1 hour getting more confused and crying with a wonderful lady serving me as we tried to work out the payment apps. She leaves to go to the bathroom an ogre of a man comes bounding in to ask how many times I tried to pay, I said I didn't know. He then went on a tirerade about me trying to bankrupt him, his family, his workers, all I was trying to do was pay! Needless to say I ran out in tears only for him to then abuse my partner and say he was going to increase the price. They had my car "working on it for OVER 3 MONTHS so I was very much looking forward to getting it back as I've not been able to leave the house. This has caused me a mental breakdown completely exasperated by him calling the police on me for yelling on the phone outside the shop. Absolte pig of a man.
