My name is Loraine Crichton I am an online physics tutor and the founder of See Tutoring. I have been teaching GCSE physics since 1999 and GCSE combined science since 2010. During that time I have had the pleasure of working with over 1000 GCSE students. I have also been a GCSE physics examiner since 2014 (excluding 2020 and 2021) So I want you to know you are in safe hands! Here's why I decided to get into teaching... 1) I am passionate about science and want to share the ideas and concepts about how the world works and want to inspire young people by opening up new areas of understanding.. 2) I get a great deal of satisfaction from helping others and encouraging them to develop successful habits that help them to achieve the goals that will change their lives. 3) I love the sense of achievement and wonder that students display when they have overcome an obstacle to their learning or become enthused about a topic. A Lasting Impact The students I taught that focussed on 3 key things always managed to do better than those students who didn't focus on these 3 keys areas. So I started to focus on these methods consistently with all of the students I've worked with and the results were incredible... Here's some examples... Salma could not remember many of the physics formulae no matter how hard she tried. Once she found a way, using my method, she improved her physics marks by 30%. Eleni was struggling to understand new topics. By finding and filling her knowledge gaps she was able to access and understand other topics easily. Dan found that he couldn't concentrate and became overwhelmed when faced with exam questions. By improving his memory and following my exam techniques he aced his GCSE.

Mrs Crichton is a phenomenal teacher. I was blessed to have her teach me science during my time at school. Without Mrs Crichton, I'd never have got my three grade 9s in GCSE Chemistry, Biology and Physics.
Mrs Crichton is very clever at imparting her knowledge in ways students can understand AND remember. She is also an exam technique expert... she was really good at showing me how to get the marks in exams.
Plus, she became more than a teacher... she became a friend. I'll be forever in her debt.
