My Top Grade Titanium Cutting board is a great new experience.
My large size Top Grade Titanium Cutting Board arrived this week. It was delivered on time, in a large padded envelope, inside which was a sturdy cardboard container, and finally inside that was my board in its own box, nestling in protective, sculptured foam. No chance of it being damaged in transit, a great start.
I was pleasnatly surprised at its reasonable weight and being totally flat. Having washed it, I tried it out the same day.
I was a little concerned that it might be too noisy compared to the wood or plastic ones I had been using, and although the knife does make a 'click', I have quickly come to like the positive sound of the knife making a clean cut onto the Titanium board.
Yes, as you cut things on it, it does scratch, but just marks, not deep gouges even with my heavy Japanese Pro knife that has a razor sharp edge. The only way it won't scratch is if you leave it in the box and don't use it.
Having dirtied it slicing various vegetables, I washed it by hand in hot water and washing up liquid in a couple of minutes, a quick wipe over with a dry cloth and it was ready for reuse to slice my raw meat.
The only negative thing I found is that if your knife isn't as sharp as it should be and you try to cut soft items, they do tend to slide around on the smooth surface, but putting a better edge on the knife cured that.
Yes, a little expensive in comparison to traditional boards, but I now know I am cutting raw food on something that is exceptionally clean.
