There is not that much hype about it since they don't strive to attract too many male members in order to keep a favorable male to female ratio. I am writing about a site called "Wanna Hookup". There is an "inbox" on the site. One posts their "profile", describing themselves and what they are looking for. Then one has to purchase "credits" to contact and exchange conversation (by writing and receiving) with women who are also on the site and are supposedly seeking connection with local men for casual sex. Everyone's picture is posted on the site. Very quickly, I was receiving invitations from 5 beautiful women to correspond with them. They describe what kind of sex they want, ask what you want. This goes on back and forth. You give them your phone number and email address, and ask them for theirs. But the subject is avoided. You receive no calls. This continues, and the site tells you that you have used all your "credits" and you have to purchase more at a minimum of just under $40. I did this until I realized that in spite of the glowing messages I was receiving, I wasn't going to receive a call, and I wasn't going to obtain a phone number or email address. It is a complete scam. You may be able to connect with very unattractive, older, fat ladies, but the beautiful ones are just pictures posted by the site. They probably have hired people writing you. Save your money. "Wanna Hookup" is a scam outfit.

Sofia Date. Promoted as one of the best (but in retrospect probably a comparison website of their own making). The warning signs are there - a thousand beautiful women all with professional pictures paid for, no doubt, from the profits that Sofia Date makes. You're bombarded with messages from all over the world but it's typically women of Eastern European extraction. It was never confirmed but I'm sure these women must get paid by the website from the money you spend. The one woman I spent months talking to never seemed to have a job. Anyway, you have to spend 5500 credits on a single woman to 'unlock' her contact details. In the meantime you're encouraged to send gifts and you do get a picture of the woman posing with the gift (flowers, perfume and many more options besides) but the credits you spend on those presents don't count towards the 5500 credit target. The contact details I got for the woman I was speaking to (Szilvia who may or may not be in Budapest) were scant - a single 'mailto' email address. No surname, no phone number.
To be fair she has sent me a couple of emails but one of those was written in Russian - make of that what you will) and still carried no name or phone number.
I think the best thing I can do is create a website and publish all the sexy pictures and videos that she, and others, sent. Maybe I'll recoup $10 or so of the thousands I spent.
The support email function was quite good but the fact that there are multiple staff 24hrs a day gives you a clue to how much money they're making. They've refused to remove my profile even after multiple requests.

This review is for all dating sites in general! They are all a waste of time and money. If you want to chat with someone go to Walmart, Publix, Harris Teeter, CVS, Walgreens you can chat all day long for free you don’t have to waste your time in the evening hours and give some stupid dating platform your hard earned money. I had heard horror stories about this site in the past when they were a free site. like women being beaten up when meeting men and really sleazy guys, but because you have to pay now I thought they had changed and become more resectable. They are worse.

They removed my account without warning after I had paid for a whole month's subscription and then they suggested I had used the account for sex work with no proof. Which I obviously did not. It seems like a scam they do on this site to get money out of people and then remove them, epecally when I get popular. Japancupid has real people and the only one I've come across that doesn't have scammers or hidden fees..it may take time talking to each match and meeting the I found all the women I matched with were quick to share alternative contact details and they weren't asking for money to meet you or be met..I'm now happily going steady with the most awesome genuinely nice woman I've ever met and we are very happy together

Internet dating sites were rather good around 2006-2012. Since then they have really gone downhill. So many have become tacky money making machines and are teeming with scammers and fake profiles. It's almost like we've hit the point of diminishing returns there's so many out there and it's the wild west in terms of regulation, so many hidden charges and upgrades. Ultimately, they're just not very good at finding people partners and very good at exploiting the kind and the lonely. A free site, like those old free pen pal sites you used to get in the first few years of the net, say around 1999, would be a breath of fresh air now!
