IVE HAD BETTER MEALS AND SERVICE AT WETHERSPOONS! Review button has been removed from facebook..
The service was terrible! Food was served cold, it tasted bland and was so inconsistent with flavours, steak tasted like the grill hadn't been cleaned and not one cut of meat was cooked correctly!
Waited 1.5 hours for food to arrive and things missing when served! Took them soo long to rectify we had already eaten most of the food by the time they eventually fixed the problem!
Lengthy wait times for overpriced drinks and food, the place wasn't even busy! Also drink threw across the table covering our whole party when being served!
Management take no accountability what so ever and just send the waiters to do the dirty work while they all sit, chat and drink wine at the front of the restaurant Avoid at all costs!!!

After hearing many good things about tomahawk steakhouse we visited Chester a place where grew up but hadn't been there for 20 years + , whilst me and my partner were in the city on Saturday the 3rd December we decided to call in to try the restaurant, when we went in the door a young lady asked us if we had booked, I replied no,she went off and another young lady came and started to look on the computer, after about 3 minutes she turned to us and said there was no tables, as I was standing there I counted 10 empty tables, I mentioned this to her and her reply was we couldn't have one of the tables as they were all booked up, we went over to a different restaurant and I went on chester steakhouse website and there was 2 tables that I could have booked or that she could of let us have, I'm wondering if it was the fact that I had tattoos on my hands and I spoke with a bit of a scouse accent having lived there for many years, also that me and my partner had had a drink in the pub round the corner before heading there and she might of smelt alcohol on our breath, I felt very disappointed about the whole situation, I intend to put this on as a review for the restaurant but I won't until I hear from you, many thanks nigel barber

Went to the Chester Tomahawk, was met by friendly staff who had previously allowed us to change our arrival time, Holly, our waitress was friendly, informative and very polite, I've seen many complaints about this steak house previously, however, my visit with my wife for our wedding anniversary was excellent, they even gave us a glass of bubbly with a strawberry on the house. The food was Fabulous, we asked for our steak cooked chefs recommendation for the cuts and it was excellent with our 4 sides that were all top quality. A certain 10 out of 10.

i went to darlington tomahawks on saturday 20/11/22 ordered lobster thermidor got lobster cooked in garlic butter the order tacker didnt tell me they dont do a thermidor on pointing out its not a thermidor when it arrived just said ow

Absolutely shameful the service. Arrived on time seated ok but that’s where it all ended.

Drinks request 20mins after sitting down, food order taken 30mins after and still no drinks, drinks came and incorrect also in crystal glasses as no wine glasses.

By 9.30 we still hadn’t received our food and nor did anyone come to the table to offer more drinks in this time etc.

3 very young serving staff that in my opinion I felt very sorry for.

9.40 we decided to leave and informed the manager on service about our issues she said first she’d heard of this issue but as we’d called her over about our drinks not arriving she should of been fully aware and attentive to the urgency. Also heard her offering another table a free drink for an issue they’d had.

Can’t say this is the first time this as happened at that venue but as it was a celebration for my daughter new job we decided to go. Better service at witherspoons.

My partner & I came here for date night while we were away in Chester for the weekend and it was perfect. Stevie was our waitress and she was amazing, very attentive, helpful & friendly. Stevie made sure our drinks were always topped up and she made some great recommendations on what sides go great with our steak choice, she was also really knowledgable on how to have the steak cooked depending on the cut. I’ve never had that level of service before in a steakhouse and my partner & I were really impressed. Will definitely visit again next time we are in Chester!

So disappointed with our first visit, both steaks were extremely tough, one was replaced and slightly better but definitely unacceptable for the price charged.

Well Thomohawks York you certainly pulled out the stops tonight 12/10 /2022 .Our meals were delicious and the extra touch's topped our 48th wedding anniversary thank you all so much Brian and Jean Gallantree

First off no bitter lemon for a gin, asked for a lemon tonic sorry no, asked for a bells or famous grouse whisky with soda, sorry we have Jamesons?? love this in a gaelic coffee not with soda. My husband had roast loin of pork with crackling, dried pork loin steaks , had to ask for crackling asked for apple sauce, sorry we don,t have any left.my beef was rare on one side and well braised on the other side. We did not rate any of the food on our plate. Staff need better training

Been to Yarm and Saltburn recently - both extremely poor - staff attitude bad,bad,bad, especially at the front desk. The idea here is to meet and greet with hopefully a smile and some positivity - not a chance here - they did not want to know - I find it difficult to describe the overall attitude and really poor does not even cover it. They all need to attend a course on how to treat customers. I have never walked out of a restaurant but I certainly came close this time at Saltburn

What a disappointment. Visited the Yarm branch and staff are too busy with an attitude…even though the restaurant was quiet. Steak was such a poor quality tough cut and badly cooked, almost boiled taste with vegetables that were so overcooked my grannie would have complained how overcooked they are…worst thing is bringing an invoice with service charge added…disgrace

Booked to go here (Tomahawk Hoxton) for a meal. Turned up and the restaurant was shut. No advance warning even though they had my contact details

Celebrated my Husbands 70th Birthday on 21st April @ York. Service was excellent and food served beautifully! Chateaubriand Steak was a memorable meal, enjoyed by us both very much ❤ Service by Charlotte T 😊 was of a high standard could not fault it...perfect. We will return and we have shared our wonderful experience with friends and family already xx

Visited the Beverley restaurant last month, it was very busy when going so glad we pre booked, waitress was friendly enough and the food was delicious with no faults. It’s definitely somewhere we will be visiting again.

We went to the Newcastle branch as we have always had great service and food at Potto. Our meal cost over £280 for four people. My husband went discreetly to the desk to pay the bill. Five mins later the bill arrived to be paid. My husband told the gentleman we had paid then went to the desk to confirm this.
We left the restaurant only to be chased down the busy street by a member of staff asking for proof again that we had paid.
The service wasnt great throughtout the meal especially when a member of staff sat on the table next to us to celebrate his birthday. The other working staff memebers were busy sending puddings over and shouting across the restaurant to him.
Rather then post a bad review i emailled Tomahawk directly.
After a follow up email i was advised they would get back to me. Still nothing and its been over a month.
My advise-find a different steak house which apprciates its customers.

We have been on several occasions always for a special occasion and we have never had a bad experience.
The staff are always lovely and friendly, the food is always amazing and worth every penny.
We won't go to any other tomahawk steakhouse.
Can't rate the place highly enough, keep up the fantastic job your all doing.

Absolutely beautiful food as always. However the service was diabolical. The waiters stood around chatting in threes while we waited half an hour for our bill, that had an extra 10% optional service charge added. We had to keep flagging waiters down for drinks, and the cutlery was just flung on our table. We wouldn’t usually spend so much on a meal, only for special occasions. For what came to over £200 for 4 of us, we’d expect 5* service to go with the price of food. It really ruined our experience.

Made a booking online at 8pm for 3 people for dinner at 21:15. Drove over 30 miles to be called 2mins from the place that they stopped serving food at 9pm. Are you joking me? We travelled an hour after getting confirmation and were basically told tough. The lady on the phone was polite but said are you sure you didnt book drinks. No we didnt. I have the email confirmation. Why does your system allow you to book tables for dinner when you arent serving food. So I travelled 60 miles in total for nothing. Really angry about this and expect and apology and discounted meal for wasting two hours of my life and a fortune in diesel. I've ticked the option for this to be passed to head office. Lets see if they care enough to resolve.

Sarah from Customer Relations contacted me very apologetic. There was an error in their system which has now been corrected. £50 goodwill voucher given and more than happy with the outcome hence the update to 5 stars
