Great to discover window frame kits
It was great to discover window frame kits exist. Not so great as an amateur buyer to receive no instructions on how to use the clever plastic joining pieces. After the first frame I realised the plastic pieces provided were longer than the thickness of the frame so split the wood. Obvious but I wasn’t thinking it through. Luckily they cut very easily.

Local business with good prices, let down by substitutions with no communication
I like supporting a local business and I find their prices generally good. Drivers are always helpful and friendly.
Product quality overall is good but I have had a few long boards with a splits down the entire length so they fall apart as soon as they come out of the stack - Anyone used to DIY or construction will know you order slightly more than you need for wastage so not unique to Nottage.
The one thing that frustrates me is product substitution - Several different orders have had different lengths delivered to what was ordered (With quantity increased so overall ordered length is correct). Sometimes that isn't a problem, but other times I ordered a specific length for a reason
E.g. I ordered 4.5m shiplap for a fence where the area was 4.3m. That meant I could use a full board per row but they delivered 4.2m lengths. I had already put in the fence posts so to attach it I had to cut a metre off each board and use extra boards for the extension pieces.
The quantity I ordered would have been enough (even with two split boards) had they been the correct length but the extra cuts meant I had to order more. When they arrived, they were 4.5m lengths but had a slightly different shiplap profile.
Luckily it was an allotment fence so I wasn't too bothered about the mismatch but it was still annoying.

Very good customer service
Did not have the lengths of sapele I wanted for economy, but supplied other lengths at same price and I was left with useful offcuts. Delivery was swift.

No calls or messages about delays from out of stock items.
Didn't message or call to say they were out of stock. 2 weeks now and still no contact or delivery update from the company. Usually really good with fast delivery and reply to enquiries.
