The school of photography is excellent as helps people want learn all about photography as gives different styles like lighting,wildlife ,macro and general photography and you can also learn about lightroom and photoshop and understand.I would recommend this school of photography to anyone who wants learn photography at any level and there is member page on Facebook which can get support.There is monthly assignments to complete to help improved photography skills and also live photography chat talking about things.

The school is excellent, keep it up. Having been taking photos for almost 40 years I realise there is always something new to learn. I thought I knew all there was to know about Photoshop - I was wrong - bigly! The presentations are clear, unambiguous, and broken down into manageable sizes.

I’m a student at The School of Photography and currently working on their course - Complete Guide to Lightroom. I would highly recommend this course for anyone that who wants to learn Lightroom. As one of those students who tried to learn Lightroom on their own, I realized the complexities of Lightroom. This structured course has taught me so much more than I could ever learn myself. Lightroom needs a systematic, layered approach to film editing as Marc (the instructor) emphasizes. I can’t wait to finish and move on to their course - Photoshop Online.

I have been a member of The School of Photography for several months. I've completed the Beginners Course, the Macro and Studio Lighting Courses, and part of the Lightroom and Photoshop courses. I have several more to go.

This weekend I attended a portraiture workshop in California. Most of the attendees were professional photographers. (I am a hobbyist photographer, and am hoping to eventually have photography as a side job.) Thanks to TSOP, I was easily able to hold my own in the workshop. I understood all the technical aspects that were discussed--and, more often, that people just assumed we all knew. I knew MORE about Lightroom than most of the people there.

As a result of the very strong TSOP foundation, I was able to dive into the more philosophical aspects of the workshop. I never once had a technical question.

I feel very grateful for the quality, structure, and content of TSOP's courses. They will set you up to accomplish your photography goals and to move into a professional role, if that's what you want. It's simply the best photography program available online!

I am loving the wildlife course. Andy's 14 minute vid on composition is just brilliant. I've learnt more from that video about good composition than I've ever learnt before. It is a must watch, whether you like wildlife photography or not, IMHO

I'm really pleased I joined TSOP. I'm an experienced photographer but I have never done basic training and I had a niggling feeling that I'd missed out along the way, which was sapping my confidence. Doing the beginners course helped a lot with that as it filled in the gaps and reassured me that what I was doing was actually right. I'm now doing the studio lighting course which is right out of my comfort zone and I'm beginning to get to grips with it.

I really like the teaching style. Short videos mean that you absorb more from each one and it's great that I don't have to take notes.

So glad I came across your website. As probably one of your older students and taking up photography for the first time I have found process of joining a complete joy.

Very clear and concise video lessons explaining everything in very easy to understand terms has been brilliant and the fact I can go over the course again and again to reinforce what I have learnt is also very helpful.

I've recently completed Tom Archers Pro Landscape course and loved the course, Tom's passion and enthusiasm really shone through and a great tutor with every step clearly explained. Very structured and comprehensive as well as being down to earth and not pretending every shot is a winner! Learnt so much and a course that you can keep coming back to and pick up some more guidance each time. An added bonus is having the downloads to practise editing on.
Thoroughly recommended as are all the courses with The School of Photography, all clear and concise and headed by a great tutor Marc Newton.

Recently completed The School of Photography's very comprehensive Pro Landscape course with Tom Archer. It gave an excellent, structured overview of how to approach landscape photography and offered very good advice for those thinking of taking their first steps towards becoming a full time landscape photographer. As with all TSOP courses it was excellently produced, with a good mixture of on location and in studio lessons. TSOP as a learning platform is top drawer, with a great mix of courses, interactive monthly assignments, photo reviews and Q&A's. All of this is headed up by the wonderful Marc Newton, who is an excellent teacher and whose enthusiasm for photography is infectious ... highly recommended!

Tom was great he shared such a lot of information, information that people dont normally share. Sticking to the landscape photography section of the course. Tom visited some of my favourite locations including Blea Tarn, his knowledge has really helped me improve my landscape photography

These courses are truly the best photography training videos/instructions I have found. Well worth it! They do such a nice job laying out the framework, explaining the concepts, and building on the skills in an understandable fashion. Thank you!

Just completed the in person Photoshop day 1 and 2 in London. It was the best Art teacher CPD I've ever had. Extremely useful, jam packed with everything you need to help start teaching photoshop to students.

I really am loving this course. I have done various courses over the years and still had not got to grips with usin my camera on manual but a few weeks into your course and I feel i can head out with my camera in manual! So happy! The best bits being the way it is taught in such a easy to learn way! So easy to understand and learn and nothing is left out

I signed onto the Adobe Lightroom class as for years now I’ve never got to grips with the software by myself and felt it was time to address that.



The class was well structured to take into account all the various parts of the software and it was good to know what each part did, even the parts in less likely to use.



I now feel I have a good understanding of the software and my apprehension that I’m not using it to its best is over.



I am intending to sign up to the Adobe Photoshop course in September and hopefully complete my training.



The only slight area I would improve on was the weighting of the units. The Develop module is very heavy and I think may be better split into several modules instead of one.



I would totally recommend this course to anyone from the beginner to the intermediate who still doesn’t quite have a full knowledge of the inner workings of Lightroom.

General.
I am enjoying the course and finding it very useful in developing my photographic skills. I was attracted to TSOP by the Creative Landscape course but, on joining, even though I have done a fair bit of photography already, I decided to do the general photography and Lightroom and Photoshop modules first: I’m glad I did. I have completed the first of these and almost completed the second and, while refreshing what I already knew I have learned lots of new things as well. I will be sticking with it.

Best bits;
It’s fun.
It’s well structured. The short steps approach helps me feel I am always making progress.
The combination of instruction, demonstration, tasks and printable worksheets works really well for me. I tend to print the worksheet first then add my own notes during the instruction so I have organised written information to refer back to when needed.
I like the additions of monthly assignments, the QA seminars, Facebook page etc. The variety of approach and sharing keeps the learning process fresh. The contact with you and other students mitigates ‘the loneliness of the long distance learner syndrome’.
Being able to work at my own pace; little bits, big bits or no bits, suits my lifestyle.
The instruction and demonstration is really clear.
The course gives ma a reason to get out with my camera.

The School of Photography is the best online school that I have found to learn to use your camera in all situations, as well as training with Lightroom and Photoshop to learn to develop your own pictures.

I bought the annual package as I knew I would dip in and out of the lessons and try to finally understand my camera, this also gave me access to all content.

As a general comment, TSOP makes what can be a complicated subject especially with all the advances in technology (camera equipment and software capabilities) a great way to understand what your camera is doing and why it's doing it.

Best bits are the situations that are shown to get the best out of the camera and the image created. The comparisons between different types of cameras & lenses. The tuition on photoshop and lightroom (which I have just started) will be invaluable. I've loved watching the beer in hand live sessions on youtube (even though I havent seen one live yet...my bad)
