Beautiful and Great Quality

I’ve now ordered twice from The Horse, and awaiting for my second bag! For my first purchase, I ordered the Clementine bag in the color taupe. The bag is beautiful and functional, and the quality is great for the price! I loved it so much, I am now awaiting the same bag in black. As expected, there is a wait for shipping since both bags are pre order, but the wait is worth it!

Fair

Cute silhouette but overall I'm not impressed with the Ginger bag from The Horse. The bag has a chemical odor, the top zipper & leather are rippled, and the edge coating melted in the buckle area.

Where is my order?

Supporting local businesses has been something I have been interested in but I recommend doing more research before shopping with The Horse.

( The one star is because their sale and in stock items do not seem to be impacted by their lack of demand and supply measures.)

They spend a lot of effort pruning their image, via social media ads, content creators (seem to have the bags but no real customers), I found it distasteful that social media campaigns and emails were inviting more people to pre-order an item that you're clearly struggling to manage the current volume and possibly having a backlog to fill.

I understand it's hard to manage and keep up sometimes with a small team. However, I along with others have made pre-orders in May and was sent varying messages with misinformation: look out for delivery, dispatching end of week.

When I pointed this out on Instagram - the team removed my comment and released a ‘sorry freight delay’ Instagram
Story post. I also emailed in my concerns and they did not reply and their phone line was turned off. Good luck to anyone contacting the team.

I sent a follow up email, the team then finally said shipping will not start until 30 July - 2 months since placing the pre-order, with no explanation or response to my comments.

There was also no further details included in their Instagram Story post. It'd be great to see a company be more transparent, manage social and communications better rather than removing comments and silencing the voices of concerned paid customers.

Do not purchase from them!!!

I purchased a women's watch in May for my wife's birthday in June. Never received. Ongoing emails with them.Apologies, promises to find out what happened. Seems like they have no idea where the watch is . So far have not been able to reach them on the phone number that they advertise.

The Horse, what a disappointment

I ordered my first The Horse bags, a studded Friday and Clementine, both in Black on 1 May 2024 for myself for Mother’s day. I applied my new customer discount code, and was very excited. On the 3rd of May, I received an email from The Horse indicating that the Clementine is available for preorder in the color Taupe, which I originally wanted but it was out of stock, and that it will be available end of June for shipment. I immediately emailed customer services and they were very willing, friendly and helpful to change my Clementine from Black to Taupe. With schools closing end of June in Dubai and travel plans to our home country SA, I moved my plane ticket to ensure that I will be available to receive my bags and was planning to include them in my travels. Needless to say, I just could not wait, and with some customers indicating that they received the bags earlier, I was holding thumbs and checking my order status every second day. This morning, to my surprise, and after almost a month and a half of waiting, I received an email to say that the Clementine in Taupe will be received soon (ready to be shipped) and that my studded Friday, is NO LONGER AVAILABLE and that I had to choose between a plain Friday bag in either black or brown, which I obviously don't want, otherwise I would have bought it in that color to start with!! I PAID for the studded Friday on 1 May. How can it not be available?? Needless to say, I am frustrated with disappointment and the response from client services… meh. After waiting for so long, couldn’t they just inform me earlier and if I did not change the color of the Clementine, would I have gotten this bag I was so excited about? The studded Friday was the first bag in my basket… So, after all of this and an absolute waste of my time, I have requested for the entire order to be cancelled and I will never buy from The Horse ever again. As more and more reviews from this brand is coming up and me still joking that I will be the first to have this bag in Dubai (I have a big collection of luxury and contemporary bags), I am only left with a bitter taste in my mouth.
Reply on below feedback from The Horse - I was never told / informed that there was a stock error or issue. I was also not given options as implied, just that I had to choose a bag that I didn’t want in 2 available colors. I remarked by saying its like offering beef or chicken to a vegetarian, no reply. That was my only option, so obviously I declined. I even gave feedback on how my experience could have been turned into a positive one, no reply. I requested for my profile and info to be deleted as there was no option to do so myself, no reply on 3rd request. Only when I remarked on Scott, the owners insta remark on a Clementine bag add, did I receive a response and because I did so, I am now blocked on Instagram. With The Horse you are simply a number. Dont expect any courtesy after you raise a complain or a suggestion. It’s honestly the worst experience I have ever had with a contemporary brand.

Clementine Bag

I saw the clementine style on instagram and loved it so I decided to pre order. I finally received my bag in London in late May and it is so beautiful. Customer service has been great (they provide regular updates ie if it is shipped etc) and the material itself is beautiful.The leather is exquisite and the clementine is such a great alternative to the Loewe puzzle bag

Best bags and customer service

I adore the bags I have purchased from The Horse. I had a quality issue with a strap quite a while after the purchase and they were more than happy to send me a whole new bag. Their customer service is amazing and very friendly.

Poor quality

I purchased two bags from The Horse. Both have a strong smell and have noticeably cheap hardware. I would not have purchased if I’d seen them in a store, it’s extremely disappointing for the price point. Although their customer service was great I would not recommend this brand.

Serious buyer's remorse

I regret falling for slick social media marketing and not paying more attention to the negative reviews. The bag I received is of poor quality, especially for the price paid. The leather, which was described as "buttery soft" on the website, is actually cheap bonded leather that emits a terrible chemical smell. The hardware feels cheap. The zipper easily gets stuck--it does not have the smooth action that you'd expect from a bag at this price point. The stitching is rough and is starting to come away at the point where the handle attaches to the bag, leaving holes in the leather. Overall, it seems like a $35 bag you would get at Strandbags. I feel duped.

the horse is my go to for watch pieces!
shipping is fast and the watches are gorgeous. i made an error with my order but the staff were so quick and responsive, they corrected my order immediately before shipping.
can not recommend them enough!!

Strong odour and poor service

Got the mini backpack in green on sale, and I should have known better. It's not that the green is bad, it's a nice muted emerald, but evidently something about the dyeing and tanning process with this colour makes it smell intensely - an almost medical smell. I'm aware leather has a particular smell, but this is many times more intense and unpleasant. It wouldn't go even after several days of hanging; if you touch it once it makes your hands and everything that touched it smell. I got in touch with The Horse and they haven't deigned to respond or explain. I do not recommend,

Super uncomfortable

Pros: beautiful, great compartments, fits a lot of stuff

Cons: the most uncomfortable backpack I have ever used. the straps constantly fall, cut into the shoulder/neck.

Super disappointed that the bag I'd saved for (it's not cheap!) is so uncomfortable that I'm forced to buy another bag, and sell this one.

If you want a good looking bag, that you aren't wearing for the the work commute or long periods of time, I guess it's fine, but otherwise I'd avoid and invest in something with support.

Had the best experience & over the moon…

Had the best experience & over the moon with the bag.

I ordered the bag as a gift and needed it delivered to Perth by a certain date. After placing the order the delivery date set was on the very day I needed it before travelling abroad. I contacted customer service and explained the issue & stress. Nick replied straight away, reassured me they’d sort it out and be in contact the following day. The next day I received notice that another bag was being express shipped and would be delivered in 2 days.

I got the bag today and I’m delighted with the quality of the leather and the style of the bag. Honestly incredible value for money & even better service! Couldn’t recommend more

Disappointed!!

The style and design of the bag is great. However the zip broke. I was told it was not under warranty anymore so they could not do anything except take it to the shop to get fixed.
For the price of the bag and it being a fault it should be replaced no questions asked!!

I got a watch for my 30th birthday from…

I got a watch for my 30th birthday from my parents. The watch was to be engraved with my name and birthdate. The birthdate was engraved incorrectly so the watch had to be sent back to be fixed. When it was sent back to mw they had left off my name in the engraving. It was clearly stated what was to be engraved yet they got it wrong twice. Won’t ever be ordering products from this company again.
